Dude ! this is awesome . 90% of my blender work revolves around modelling cakes & pastries. I can't tell you how many hours i spend on each model trying to get a realistic texture, most of the time I throw my hands in the air in despair & resort to a bread texture which is ok if you look at it from a mile away but this is waaaaaay better. Thanks, stay safe, keep on smilin.
@@KevBinge It's a huge thing. The work I do is concept drawings for wedding & birthday cakes so getting the texture right is a "big" thing ......... & nigh impossible to achieve ! Blender is awesome but trying to get a realistic biscuit texture is a headache LOL Thanks again for the tutorial, much appreciated.
That’s so awesome to learn. Wedding cakes are a huge thing so it’s logical that 3D visualization would be in the game. I just never made that connection before. Thanks!! We taught each other 😀
@@KevBinge When people spend 2, 3, $4,000.00 AU or more on a cake they really want some sort of visualization of what it's going to look like. Hence why I try to get the textures right & it's not easy. Try slicing a cake & reproducing the inside texture, it's a headache ! UV mapping works ok but adding the displacement just gives you grey hair ! LOL Stay safe Kev, your tutorials are awesome .
That’s great to know! Stay safe as well! Covid is spiking here in Los Angeles, so we are all doing our best to stay healthy! It’s definitely freaky. You stay safe as well in AU!
May be here are a lot of artest on you tube but you're the one well trained and tutorials explains to much better then other's love you man ahaha keep it up
so when in sculpt mode it changes the displaces patter when I try and use a brush instead of sculpting? and if I apply all the modifiers the sculpting is distorting the noise?
If you have a 🥔computer, then put all that displacement and bump in the shader. You should be able to get by with under 900K vertices in that case. Cheers, Blenderers!
This is one of those confections of American history that people question if it's actually food. Apocryphally a teacher kept one in their class for 30 years and it looked fine. Urban myth claims it can survive nuclear war. More likely it's just really bad for you.

The epitome of a random idea. I love it!
Thanks!! Haha!
Missed you on the nest!
@@KevBinge I'll be on next week I hope. Gotta work out some things
Ahahahah I just got done watching Zombieland. How perfect to see this LOL. Excellent tutorial. Time for some cardiac LOL
Thanks Jimmy! I need to watch that haha!!
Yeah he obsessed with the Twinkie. And then I saw this I was dying laughing LOL
Awesome! Now I have to watch it.
Imagine you met only person in Zombie Apocalypse and he has just bunch of Twinkies.
The things you make are so realistic!
Thanks! I try sometimes 😀
Finally... I can use my knowledge to it’s full potential.
Lol!!
I love the submarinos.
Haha!!
This was fantastic, thank you so much...people like you, make people like us (intermediate beginners), love Blender even more.
Thanks!!! I’m hoping to do my part to help 😀
Thanks a lot! I was struggling to get "the yummy" to a cake model! :)
Thanks! I’m glad this still looks edible haha!
I subbed not only for the amazing tutoring but the humor is top tier . Thanks! Going to try this out !
Thanks!! Please do!
Great tutorial! I hope there will be more pastries and cakes tutorials!
Thanks Maria! I may do more lol!

Thank you! That means a lot 😀😀
“Im switching to eeve now”
My 4gb ram laptop: ....
blender.exe is not responding
Yeah, it’s a bit heavy. The other alternative is normal maps.
i mean eevee is less heavy than cycles isn't it
oh thanks you, that's so awesome
I'm glad you like it
Nice thanks ! :)
You’re welcome 🤣
3:52 where they injected the plastic, makes sense.
😁
Awesome. U should definitely make a animation film
Thanks! I will be once I nail down a few ideas I have kicking around.
Exactly what I was looking for.
Awesome!!
Nice. Now I can print out my own
Awesome! These “should” be watertight.
Pretty cool..love the humor in your tutorials, makes me to learn more of blender... haha
Awesome!! Thanks!
But this is bettaaa

Another excellent tutorial. It looks very realistic.
Thank you! I tried a bit with this one, and I was hungry so it helped lolz
@@KevBinge 🤣😂
I've never actually had a twinkie, looks good though!
Thanks! You’re not missing much lol!
Twinkies always remind me of Ghostbusters! LOL
Ray…. What did you do? Ray?? Lol
really awesome..please upload more video like this
Thanks! I may in the future.

Awesome! Lol
Great Video!
Thank you!!!

1:00 Hit new and get a butter tray? Nothing happened.
Great now i have to get Twinkies, Cardiac awaits lol such a random Sunday tutorial
Hahahaha! I know, it’s crazy. Hostess should send me a check hahahahaha!

Really hungry!
Thank you men!)
Me too!! I wish I had one now haha!!
@@KevBinge Very appetite! )
I agree 😀. Not healthy, but tasty haha!

Thanks!!!
I'm tryna make a bakery backrooms level and this helps with the foods ALOT
That’s awesome!!!!
@@KevBinge Haven't really started much lol, and when I made an ocean level one moderator literally just banned it and said "S*** project"
@somekindaguy9139 Well that sucks. Sorry to hear it.
@@KevBinge eh its fine

How did you made the shinny plane ?
It’s just a principled shader.
2:10 *STUTTERING INTENSIFIES
Anyway nice Twinkie it made me hungry
Lol
Hi Kev, I’m new to Blender so just wondering why did you use a displace modifier instead of a normal map and displacement map?
I just saw this comment. I used a displace modifier so I could use it in EEVEE easier. Cycles is better.
"It looks square and stupid so let's....shade smooth. Ahhhh, bettah."
-Kev 2020
Hahahahaha! I try sometimes 😀
Thanks for the tutorial, until I got hungry XD
You’re welcome!!
More food texture tuts!
I didn’t think they were a thing but sure! Thanks!

True. Thanks!
Your god irl
Lol! I’m not even in the same game, but thanks for the confidence 😀
I didn't understand this part at all 1:00 like wth it was too fast and i couldn't understand
This was during my speed days.
lol nice 🤣 🤣 🤣
Thank you 😀
i liked the tutorial but it was quite laggy but still great tutorial
ah vr twinky .... 0 calories 0 taste ....... a bit like coke zero!
Yes! Coke 0... hahahahaha!!
This comment is underated!
Pls upload thousands of object animation video 😃😃
Thousands?
@@KevBinge yes
I’ll see lol
Thousands means any object
Me: Change Subdivision options to 6
Blender: *Process to close instanly*

what's a twinkie? is it fish food?
I could just google it but it would be fun reading people's comedic responses to this!
It’s not even food. Fish won’t touch it.

Looks great, but more than a million vertices for two twinkies seems like a lot...
For me it doesn’t matter if it renders and works. Thanks 😀
Just bake out the hi poly to a normal map and stick it on a low poly one
Good idea. That would work too mid-range! 😀
What's the filling? Cream? We don't have them here so you know nothing buddy. ;p lol
Hahaha! It’s some kind of filling. Partially hydrogenated oil lol
That cream ew
