Your list was great, I think the only one for me was Evil dead, however that might change with more viewings.. I was also thinking about a rule for horror movies. Can you think of any franchises where the original is the worst rated film in the franchise?

I've honestly avoided Sinister 2 because I've only heard bad things about it. But after you spoke highly of it, I may finally have to check it out. Ones that I would have on my list would be Amityville 2, one of the creepiest movies I've ever seen!
Great video. A few sequels that I think are better than the original are Aliens, Childs Play 2, Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn, Terrifier 2 and Wrong Turn 2: Dead End.
I’ve never been a original purist tbh, I recognize and respect original films in the 70s, 80s, etc for taking the step that led to more movies and pioneered the trail for other directors. But I also recognize that some originals have bad acting, horrible effects, maybe a big plot flaw. Which can make me enjoy it more in some ways but I do like a lot of remakes for adapting and putting in better acting, better effects, flushing out characters more. Plus some movies that weren’t appreciated before are now more appreciated by modern viewers because they saw evil dead 2013 or the new Halloween movies

Definitely agree Halloween 2 is much better then the first, and I’m definitely with you on child’s play 2!! That movie is one of the best. I think ppl like the first hellraiser because it’s an easier watch, not so much as in gore but it’s a much simpler straight forward story but I love both of them and can’t pick 😂😂
I agree with you on every single one of your picks except for Doctor Sleep, but every time I rewatch DS it moves ever so close to being equally as great as The Shining.
Struggled thinking of sequels I find better than the original, guess I'm more of a traditionalist than I thought. Ones I agree with from your list: The Strangers Prey at Night Friday the 13th Part 2 (most of the sequels are better than 1 tbh) Don't understand the love for Hellraiser 2, never have and never will. The first half is great, but as soon as they go into the leviathan stuff it becomes a mess, still alright but nowhere near the quality of the first (for me).
