This is a collection of moments captured in Shanghai during one of my documentary shoots back in 2019.
I had completely forgot about all the B Roll I had captured overs a few days and it was a great experience to re-discover this footage after more than 4 years.
I love how Shanghai has this mix of old and new.
It features one of the most futuristic skylines but at the same time you can find old wooden structures and temples everywhere around the city.
Most of the footage is shot at sunrise or at night as the rest of the day was mostly spent filming for the project with my friend Ben.
All shot handheld.
4K Prores, in 24 or 50 fps.
Let me know if you have any questions :).
Cheers,
Flo

Here is a collection of moments from my trip to Shanghai. Shot on the BMPCC4K.
Have you been?
Cheers,
Flo
Amazing footage! What lenses did you use for this?
already showed here in red epic, love china lights/trees, you did great job with bmpcc
@@AnthonyHadleyJr Thank you!! Lumix 12-35 :)
@@OfTwoLands yes, quite an amazing city. Your footage puts mine from 2019 to shame! The Shanghai part starts at 1:29 ruclips.net/video/D0o0rBF7-TE/видео.html
Love your work ❤ keep sharing 🎥🎬
One of the best sequence of shots of Shanghai that i have seen. Great composing and play of light. You never fail to inspire me.
Thanks so much for the positive feedback :) !!
Was the only lens used a Panasonic 12-35?
You're one of the reasons why I started doing travel films. Keep it up!
Thanks for the kind words!!
Beautiful shots! You're such an inspiration!
Thanks so much man!!
Wow this was probably my favorite travel video you've made! Well do!
Oh wow, thanks so much mate! It was fun to revisit this footage. I love this city!
Such a visual spectacle of a city skyline! Not an inch of Shanghai can be captured without looking stunning - sorry, not an inch captured by you. I love the atmosphere of this edit.
Thank you my man!! Glad you enjoyed it. Hope you get to visit one day ☺️👊
Beautiful!! I have the 4k and really enjoy the images I get. Your shooting and grades are stellar. I think if people didn't know you shot it with a $1,300 camera, they would assume it was much more expensive.
Thanks so much!!
Incredible Colours
Thanks so much mate!!
Once again - your framing and grading is superb.
Thank you so much!!
That was a beautiful sunrise!
It really was! Even though it was all smog, it made for a cool atmosphere :)
@@OfTwoLands definitely 👍
I am always thinking of selling my BMPCC 6K as I never use it, mostly because I don’t have the skills to produce an image I know it is capable of. Then I see your videos and think, “ok let’s give it another go”; only to be disappointed yet again. I really want to be able to grade like you do, your footage inspires me more than anyone else on RUclips. Keep them coming and maybe one day it will click for me.
The composition in each frame is so clean, and the light so well managed ! Congrats Bro really great work done on this one 😍
Thanks so much brO, means a lot coming from you :)
Beautiful as always. The smog makes for great diffusion!
Thank you!! And yes, it's terrible but it makes for great visuals!
You do amazing things with that 12-35! I thought maybe it was a different speedboosted lens!
Thank you very much :)
I hope you know I had to pause and contemplate for several minutes after watching 3 seconds. Out of focus Tai Chi silhuottes in slow motion as an opening sequence for Shanghai is brilliant...just so amazing.
P.S. the travel cinematography e book is fantastic!
Edit: Watched the rest of the film. Breathtaking.
Thank you so much mate, for both the positive feedback on this video and the E Book, means a lot!!
The lights at night turned out really well.
Thanks!!
In love with the colors
Glad you like them, thank you!!
You keep me in love with my pocket 4K 😊
Glad to hear :)
Amazing work!
Thank you!!
@@OfTwoLands Love how you are showing how powerful this camera still is.
Cinema 🎥
Splendid video. Congrats! 👏
Thank you ☺️🙏
Uuuuuuh I like it! Great shots 😍
Thank you!!
Amazing, you made that lens shine.
Thanks a lot! Love that lens :)
good times man! such a cool city
100%! That skyline is too good!! Wouldn't mind going back :)
Your work is so inspiring!! Great job!
Thanks man!!
Your work is so good, it is crazy to me that you don't get the attention you deserve
Thanks so much, means a lot 🙏
Beautiful shots!
Thank you!!
Still a formidable camera in the right hands of course. Great video
Thanks a lot :) !!
AWESOME!!!
Thank you!!
Great work!!!!!
Thank you!!
A masterpiece as always👏🙌
Thanks so much mate!! Really glad you enjoyed it 👊🙏
Dude. This is so so good!!
Glad you liked it mate, thank you!!
I dont know if this is the correct word, but holy shit, the rolloff is crazy good and your cinematography/photography is stellar too!
Haha thank you!!
Damn I’ve been waiting for this! I’m returning to China in a week and I was just thinking of doing something like this!
Thanks for watching!! I'm jealous haha, have fun :)
Great job !!!
Thanks!!
What a stunning work! Framing, composition and color are on top! Maybe i'll try to edit all scenes in order from morning to night, just to have a linear narrative, but just as a personal preference. Anyway is impressive what can produce a relatively inexpensive camera in the right hands!
Thanks for the positive feedback!! Haha I actually used to edit my videos in a linear way but it feels good to change. I used to also get the opposite comments on how I should mix up the footage.
@@OfTwoLands of course, no right or wrong just a personal preference 😉
Awesome, you are really good at this 👍
Thank you :)
Amazing!!! 👍
Thank you!!
Nice
Thanks!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
☺️🙏
Amazing content
Thank you!!
Beautiful :)
Thanks :) !!
Very mice shots!
Thank you!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!!
GREAT SHOTS!! Those little lumix 12-35 lenses are under appreciated. Great OIS. I use one on my GH5S. I turn off the garbage IBIS and just use the OIS in the lens. WAY more natural stabilization than IBIS. Are you adding a bit of post process barrel distortion on some of the wider shots? I could swear the lines are a lot straighter when used on the GH5S
Thank you!! I always loved this lens. And no, I didn't add or get rid off any distortion. It was quite heavy on the super wide skyline shots.
That's probably because the GH5S applies in body distortion correction.
Hi. I can't get the AF to work with the 1st version of this lens in this camera. Had any issues with the 2nd version? Cheers
Quand je vois la qualité de la bmpcc4k je me demande pourquoi je suis tant obstiné a me dirigé vers la 6k
Tres belle images
Merci!! Images au top peu importe la camera, personnellement je prefere la 6k Pro mais la 4k me manque haha!!
So used mft lenses only.. That's cool
Yep ☺️ thanks!!
Hey Flo, so nice to see. Why did you decide to go with the 4K in this instance? And would you recommand the 12-35 over the 18-35+speedbooster? In what conditions?
Thanks!! This was filmed in 2019 so I only had the 4K :).
And yes I always prefer to use native lenses. That being said the sigma + speedbooster works very well too. It just depends if you need a lighter kit with IS or not and how fast the lens needs to be.
I think 4K has better color rendition while 6K has more natural colors. What do you think? Did you use a mist filter?
Hard to tell, but I think I know what you mean. And no I didn't use a mist filter.
welcome to China!😁
So good, what's the lens setup here? Are we speed boosting
Thanks!! Just the lens and a cheap ND filter :)
Hi. Beautiful shots! Do you still prefer pro res instead of braw?
Hey, thanks!! It depends on the shoot, I like both equally for different reasons. BRAW is my go to now.
Nice images. At what ISO did you shoot the night scenes? 6400? denoised with Resolve or Neat?
Thanks!! A mix of 1250 and 3200 and denoised in Davinci :)
@@OfTwoLands Great images! Great eye for composition.
Hey boss.. why did u shoot prores? Didnt like the braw?
I was there for a project and I was filming in Prores so made sense to film everything else in Prores too.
Personally I always loved prores, so edit to edit, and I also do a lot of licensing work so it makes sense for me. I do use BRAW on my 6K Pro now.
欢迎你
Do you ever shoot in ProRes or only in Raw?
This is Prores. I used to shoot only 422 until I got the 6K Pro and now I shoot mostly BRAW.
why did you choose to use the 4k?
In early 2019 that was the one I was using :)
That country is weird. But good videography anyway
Thanks!!
China y francia se parecen
China es el mejor país del mundo
Beautiful work!
Thank you!!
