Thanks for the video, I agree that the BMPCC4K is still awesome even in 2024! I completely disagree with your statement that 'the BMPCC4K is bad in low light'. For me, the BMPCC4K is really fantastic in Low Light, especially when you flick it over to 1250 ISO! In a low light situation, switching to 1250 ISO makes the shadows super clean. Not every low light scene needs to be shot at 3200 ISO, so using 1250 ISO in conjunction with lens aperture, ND & light level, can provide very crisp clean low light results.
Just bought the Black Magic 6K Full Frame and I STILL won't let go of my Bmpcc4k. Got me into more of the filmmaking role and I still use it today along side the new camera.
As a working professional, a lot of times having affordable equipment that gets the job done and not overspending on the newest equipment can get you through the slow seasons that come with freelance work.
My camera is a Sony A6300 which was a powerhouse when it came out even with the overheating, but I work with the BMPC4/6K's daily. The ability to work quickly, have all the options dead set in front of you, and the raw capture makes using the BMPC a no brainer. I was a Sony fanboy, even apologizing for it's crappy UI. Not anymore. Our BMPC pays our bills and time is money. Setting in field is easier, coloring is easier, and while Sony charges me to use the timelapse function in my Alpha, Blackmagic is STILL pushing out updates to this thing for free. BMPC for life. Sorry Sony, its not me, it's you.
Damn the p4k got me into film making, i dnt really miss the image as I moved to the p6k & s5 OG with ext bmd raw and it was an upgrade for sure. Lately got into sony as i live on a small island and people are either canon or sony, so kinda felt left out when i keep seeing the 2nd hand bodies/ lens being sold or even some jobs where sony was a requirement..But now looking at some work, I can definitely tell that It was a blast to just use bmd or the s5. For sure the fx3 got some form of superior image but they look really broadcasty like and I am now a videographer instead of an aspiring cinematographer haha. I remember just being excited to get back to my desk, open up davinci, grade the footages for hours even before doing any edit haha..Now i just get to my desk, throw in some sony presets that took me weeks to make to get a decent result and edit... I dont even dare grade it as I cant really push the footage as I did before :). Sony for sure made me more money as people relate to it as professional work..here i am hoping the bmcc6k is in sale again as I had other priorities when it was running.
I love the color grading you did on the honeymoon. A few months ago I acquired one to record small events and for social media videos. Like all cameras, it has its good points and its bad points. The lack of autofocus is one of them, but I think that with a good focus motor on the grip it can be solved. I'm still trying to learn the topic of stabilization with Gyro. It works well with short shots and, obviously, prior study of how to hold a camera, how to move it, how to move yourself, how to walk. At this time we only have Olympus photography lenses from the Pro series, but they do not have a stabilizer. Any lenses that you think are appropriate? Does a lens with OIS like the Lumix G that I saw you use really make a difference or help? How did you record a wedding when you needed good focus and stabilization? You know weddings are always fast and unpredictable and it seems that nowadays everyone wants them to be silky smooth shots, as if we all had a crane on the camera :D Thanks for reading us.
Congratulations on the video. I have a question... using the HFR button to record at 60fps do I need to change the speed to 120 or is it automatic, there is no need
This camera is actually better in low-light situations. Its dual native ISO is way better than all of the BM cameras before. The low-light performance is very solid.
Battery power is suddenly not being recognised on my 5 year old BMPCC4k. I always used external power but this is very inconvenient at times. Any ideas on how to fix?

:) gracias, nunca pude comprarla, ahora sigo esperando una opción con mejor duración de l batería 😊
i hv the 4K....still the best....people dont realize that with 6k ...you need a better and speced out computer to handle that load...besides loads of other things....cost wise... if y r truly in cinema then yes go for the upper crust...otherwise the 4K is total GOLD !!!
Guys what wide lens could guys recommend i got 200-300,- euro budget 🙏 I currently have 18-35 sigma A wide lens would fit more to my style and mostly tight environment

I'm buying up as many second hands as I can. Just to make sure I have plenty for the next decades to come.
Will be using this at least untill 2044.
Lol, how many did you have ?

What island do you live in? Japan?

Sold mine. Been a bit sad every day. Got a GH6 and S5ii, but it’s just not quite as fun with Lumix even if the spec and performance is great.
I will also mention that this BMPCC has a 4k 90 fps mode as well. Smooth like butter.
Holii i'm gonna Buy it second hand, i'm student and low budget, i prefer this than a expensive Sony stuff
not bad thinking...now y r getting into real cinema....with the 4K ...or 6K...as y wish

That's what I was thinking. The low-light performance is great. Especially combined with a speedbooster+f1.8 lens

Loved the pocket 4k! It pairs perfectly with any camera honestly. Ive been thinking of picking one up again and using it as a B cam. Great video!
It's super easy to match with other cameras. I tried selling it last year and bailed because I knew I'd regret it.

your talking head shot is really cool!
Thank you!!
Where can I see the short film you teased? “Twisted imaginations”
Great video. One question fam, why would you pick the S5 over the pocket 4k?
The small form factor, I needed a stills camera as well as I do a lot of real estate content. Now with the MkiiX the autofocus is a massive help!
@jeremybfilms that definitely is an upgrade with the features you actually need.
Nice videos, man. Good job!
what about working in Final Cut Pro ..any suggestions? TY
They should update 4k with better sensor, body and moderate pricing
Amen to that
It holds up until you need autofocus. Bought into Sony today. But still keeping my BMPCC4K
How do you get the Gyro Update?
Still the best for the money
Have the been battery improvements on the BM4k internal battery life?????
Heck no!
Guys what wide lens could guys recommend i got 200-300,- euro budget 🙏
I currently have 18-35 sigma
A wide lens would fit more to my style and mostly tight environment
Thnx for the videos 💚
My canon 60d too
I realy realy love mine
What cage and grip are you using on there?
It's just a standard SmallRig cage specifically for the BMPCC 4 & 6K
How did you get it to work with the battery pack at the bottom? Did you have to modify the cage to get it to fit with the battery pack?
Bmpcc4k купил недавно новую 👌🏻
.64 speed booster with some vintage primes. 🤌🤌. Zeiss Jena (first choice), Leica r. Camera is a monster
I need to borrow some vintage primes, I really want to use the Bmpcc more but the lack of lenses I have for it kills my drive to use the thing
@@jeremybfilms look up the dulens, really pleasing image coming out of it.
