The shot of Crosshair picking up Mayday’s battered helmet was insanely sad.
I almost cried
Another absolute BANGER of an ep. They’re 5/5 so far this season
Agreed!
episode 1 and 2 were mid ngl
Totally agree. They've been on point this season.
this was mostly just a filler to be honest
@@steveblox7067 I feel like every episode is called "filler" these days it's starting to lose its meaning. Yes nothing groundbreaking happened but important character building and team building with Crosshair and the rest of the Batch happened here. It is necessary. You can't have them be ice cold to each other to immediately being a team again and fighting some big fight, that comes later. Doing that immediately would make for a bad story. "Filler" is necessary to make a well thought out and complete storyline
One of the biggest steps for Crosshair was his small laugh when Omega joked with him. I don't think he has ever laughed at all before.
The sensors reminded me of keeping the spiders at Bay on chopper base in Star wars rebels!
You are correct.
I was thinking the same thing!
100% 🎉
All killer, no filler so far. Star Wars Animation crushing it.
Call it good content lol
Definitely. I liked Ahsoka, but you can really tell Dave Filoni excels more in animation.
@@tristantheg6573That just doesn't have the same ring to it lol
i feel like bacher is crosshires emotional support animal
Definitely. Love it.
His therapy dog
10:26 Australians every time when they go outside
Nah, we keep them as pets
I'm honestly surprised Hunter didn't pick up on the incoming ice wyrm sooner, given his heightened senses and all (that usually seem to be on par with those of Wolverine)
That’s so true! I’m wondering if his age is kicking in
I think he was hyper focused on Crosshair
Probably his mind was distracted with Crosshair
Was so happy that Crosshair is slowly making progress with earning the batch’s trust
Best episode of the season
It was so heartbreaking yet that balanced both in a prefect way the hunter ,and crosshair tension was beautiful done love that this was a sequel to the outpost episode.
Well said!
As far as the screen not making sense, it's all in medical code. "15 cc of NaCl" doesn't mean anything (and looks like gibberish) unless you know the meaning of the abbreviations.
Good point.
While Hunter is watching Crosshair pick up the helmets,
we see Crosshair pick up three.
The two he puts on top of the crate,
And a third he picks up,
Hunter walking away before he sees him place it next to the other two.
I see it that the three helmets represent the last three members of the Batch, and Crosshair’s willingness to pick them up, and put before himself.
The final helmet, representing Hunter,
Who walks away, unable to fully accept Crosshair’s sincerity,
and that he cares about him,
Until later when Crosshair literally picks Hunter up out of the pit,
Hunter accepting what he once refused to.
It's like poetry
Hunter and crosshair with the wyrm is similar as Agent Klaus and Zeb on that moon
When omega called crosshair "Little Brother" 🤯🤯
Excellent episode
Poor Crosshair seems to have some really bad PTSD, maybe nerve damage, that's possibly why his hand gets the shakes and his shot accuracy is down to 53%.. :(
I believe that’s from the experiments the empire was doing on him, dr hemlock has the same jitters
Do we know whatever happened to the Clone Trooper doll that Omega coloured out to make it look like a Bad Batcher?
I'm loving this season so far
The Wyrm reminds me a lot of the sand monster from Jedi Academy. And as a note to Episode 4 regarding those “dinosaurs”. We've seen these before in Clone Wars in Season 5 Episode 11.
This season is absolutely fantastic so far this season. I feel like it all feels a lot more worked through than the other seasons!
Definitely better than season 2 which was still good, & and it's on pace to be better than the first season.
There is always a bigger fish
The snow worm really REMINDS me much of the sand burrow worm in Jedi Academy.
But for real, this episode really solidified Crosshair’s redemption arc by going back to the old base where he carried Mayday to safety.
It really buried the hatchet between hunter and Crosshair at the end of it all.
Hopefully with all this attention Crosshair is getting he doesn’t get killed off like Tech did
I know, this season has seriously cemented him as my favorite 😭😭😭
mayday pushes crosshair away from the avalanche to save him in the past episode and then hunter pushes crosshair to save him from the wyrm. i think mayday reminded crosshair of hunter
Noooo why would you do this to me I didn't even have a tissue box this time!!!! 🥺🥲🥲🥲🥲
I'm pretty sure Crosshair's hand tremors are from when he was on that snow planet and got so cold that it made his hand get some nerve damage.
well, i know i'm probably the only one but i was happy to see the return of azi
Dang good analysis!
I finished watchin the exact moment this went livbe.
His episode has my heart, honestly one of my favs ever. Its soo emotionally good
The wrym could be a nod to the same type of wyrm we saw on the clone Wars episode rookies with the full domino squad rip heavy, the wrym which rex shot in the eye with one shot
The second they said “prime the breakers” I thought we were about to have a Mr. Arnold’s arm moment
Timothy Zahn came up with Wayland in Heir to the Empire, not Lucasfilm. Doubt it is a reference to Alien franchise.
Alien was released 1979, the book is 1991 so it’s possibly a nod.
Still, not Lucas Film animators.
Some ship observations.
The panning shot of the ship arriving at the planet is shown from the underside. I dont recall a shot like that before unless one sinilar was shown in one of the Clone Wars episodes. It is sonewhat disorientating to start with and i really liked it.
The ship's cockpit reminded me of the Imperial Cargo Ship cockpit. Probably the same animation asset.
The rear of the ship reminded me of the crippled ship at the start of the Star Wars Eclipse video game trailer. Not checked but it may be the same class of ship.
Wayland isn't a reference to Alien, it from the Heir To The Empire trilogy, it's just where Mount Tantiss is, and it's spelt Wayland not Weyland
It used to be with an E I believe
Another small detail from the helmet scene, Crosshair picks up two specific helmets in addition to Mayday’s, which belonged to Hexx and Veetch, the other two survivors Crosshair met in the Outpost
Love these vids!!!
Not mentioning that they confirmed omega is older than them is outrageous 😂
Tech revealed that in the season 1 finale
the wyrm reminds me of the rishi eel that ate Cutup
I would say the wyrm looks more like a graboid lol
Loved this episode
I love this episode so much
Im thinking the poison from the gas is making crosshairs hand twitch or tremors its the same as with Hemlocks hand and probably becomes immune to the gasses im assuming
8:35. Very funny. I watched it like 4 times.
I'm sure it's been stated but the reference to Weyland isn't about the alien franchise but rather Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy starting with "Heir To The Empire" series.
Good video
What’s that necklace omega wears?
5:26 That’s a good detail!
I know the clones will slowly die off i hope its not wrecker next.....
The ice wyrm looks eerily like the ice wyrms in World of Warcraft's Warlords of Draenor, that also lived in big frozen wastes between mountains. It wouldn't be the first time an animated Star Wars episode borrowed from WOW. Umbara was clearly inspired by Zangarmarsh, which was first seen about 4 years before Umbara showed up in The Clone Wars. The Zangarmarsh zone included an alien humanoid species called the Umbrafen, and the whole zone was full of bioluminous, flying ray-like creatures, semi-sentient plant monsters, and giant glowing fungi.
Crosshairs episodes always seem to be some of the best, I hope they don’t kill off the squad it could be great to see them in live action against Grand Admiral Thrawn
Total tremors vibes this ep
I knew that I would get emotional in this Episode the Moment I regognized the Outpost 😢
You mean Crosshair's armor looks "Shinie"er! 🤓😎✌🏻
10:04 its a ice moledoga from zelda
I lose my shit laughing everytime they mention tech and look off all sullenly
ice worm from subnautica below zero hahaha
Happy to see Crosshair come back with the Batch again. Wish he kept his imperial gear somehow, I really liked the look of that plus that helmet.
That wyrm was totally the giant thing that Gregor and the other clones fish up in rebels using zebra as bait!
I was thinking tremors not dune 🤣🤣
10:10
Actually, the Wym is more similar in design and feel to the Tremors Graboid variant from Tremor's 5
Wayland, not Weyland is sourced from the Thrawn trilogy novel;s, and is the planet where Mount Tantiss is located
I finished watchin the exact moment this went live.
I thought the worms acted like those from Tremors, but Dune is in the forefront of your mind you may have forgotten of the classic worms.
I wish crosshair had taken maydays helmet as his own or to barrie it.
I assume the jibberish is because its encoded, like they can read it because they can read the code, its basicly a double translation (arabesh to english and then engilsh to whatever the code is)
I think that snow vulture crosshair kept seeing in the ep is some huge foreshadowing. At the end, he rekindles with hunter as he says "there may be hope for us yet." Cut to the bird shrieking and flying away. To me that seems like a sketchy omen. Let's hope they don't all meet the same fate as their brother tech.
I think the worm looks more like a chasmfiend from Roshar
Wayland is from Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire….not the animators.
Love this season 😁
Well, those gibberish Arabesh was probably intentional much like that Mandalorian episode. A deliberate thing to mess with those who like to pixel peeping.
i had a more tremors vibe seeing that wyrm.
it wasn't jiberish, it was part (cell/prisoner) numbers
The sensors are literally are the thumpers from subnautica below zero
I will die on the hill of Tech being alive.
9:48, While this may just be a simple reference to Sith Wyrms, Sith Alchemy could end up being repurposed for this narrative Palpatine experimenting with genetic manipulation in an attempt to create artificial Force-sensitives, the result of the experiments in their current form being mutated abominations and monsters but eventually leading to Snoke and his imperfect cloned body.
11:51, This is actually a pretty interesting analysis and very applicable to a variety of situations.
I think crosshair, Omega and wrecker will survive (other than rex and his crew).
cool stuff
The wyrm looked a lot like the iceworm from arc
Ark**
The episode were soooo Dune-coded😂
There is a lot also of brothers silently calling each other out. On both sides.
Animated star wars is whats saving the franchise right now plain and simple 💯
Season Finale
Dune? Pretty sure the wyrm is a Tremors reference
the return of crosshairs toothpick
The information on the data pad was being decrypted, it might have just been scrambled
SUBNAUTICA FANS!!!!!!!
the wyrm reminds me of the work levathan from below zero
He didn't change, the people in charge did.
Wayland is from legends not alien
The Empire or Alterra?
Crosshair really needs to talk about what ACTUALLY happened on this planet…and see a therapist…his problem isn’t just with his hand, it’s with his head
why didnt hunter sense the wyrm?
I think the implication is both he and crosshair were impairing themselves by not accepting one another. Crosshair’s inability to trust and reconnect with everyone was hindering his abilities and PTSD more, while Hunter’s rage and trust issues with Crosshair blinded him to the full situation.
You mentioned Bryce Dallas Howard for the orobesh but not Jurassic park?
Why didnt they just plug in the Gonk like they did two eps ago
Lucasfilm needs to realise that people can read Aurebesh and if it means gibberish it takes us out of the moment just as much as if it were in galactic basic.
Agreed
10:26 because the writers don’t have better ideas 😅
Anyone else get their video interrupted by the local news?
maybe it's me but has newrockstars lost a few steps?
This seems like a perfectly normal video to me. What part of it seemed sub-par to you?
First
Ohh..I haven't liked Crosshair since DAY 1...BUT...Filoni is doing a DAMN GREAT JOB of giving me "feels" for him😕Mark my word...
HUNTER IS DYING SOONOhhh..I haven't liked Crosshair since DAY 1...BUT...Filoni is doing a DAMN GREAT JOB of giving me "feels" for him😕Mark my word...
HUNTER IS DYING SOON
I wanted a better reaction and discussion about tech
