My theories (in no particular order):
    1. Qimir is the Sith Lord, putting on the false identity of Qimir to make sure Mae is following the rules he gave her.
1a. The Sith Lord is the master and Mae wants to become his apprentice.
    2. Mae having to kill a Jedi without a weapon is similar to Vader in the Darth Vader comic having to defeat a Jedi and take his weapon in order “bleed” his crystal and make it red.
    3. Sol is not one of the 4 Jedi Mae is hunting, explaining why she didn’t bother with her little speech.
    4. The 4th Jedi is Vernestra, explaining why she is so interested in these events not becoming public knowledge.
    Probably more to come.

I have to agree with 3 although they do mention four Jedi stationed on Mar and Osha's home planet. I suppose that doesn't preclude more though.
I think Mae'd master is actually the Sith apprentice, it's pretty normal for them to recruit their own followers behind their masters back in a bid for enough strength to kill their master and take their place.

Something I think that should be mentioned is a throwaway line from Qimir who says "Please dont do that Mind erasing that you all do." This could be a hint towards what happened to the twins and why they think each other died. The Jedi mightve wiped their minds or altered it using the force as we see with Yords willingness to jump straight into using the force on the Nemoidians, and Sols use of it on the prisoner.

I don't really think the Jedi Temple is primarily a school in quite the way you harp on it. It's the Jedi base of operations, and that includes training younglings. It's not just a school with a jail. It's a facility with multiple purposes. We've seen the Jedi detain people on the Clone Wars before, so it doesn't seem all that strange. That said, I can't imagine they have all that much interest in these particular prisoners beyond their knowledge of what happened to Osha. I would imagine they would have been handed off to Republic authorities almost immediately after that scene.

Started off strong in ep 1, then hit another gear of greatness in ep 2. Sol is already one of my favorite Jedi ever, and I really, REALLY like that they are showing Yord to be more like a prequel era Jedi. Like he’s kind of a forerunner of that here: a bit vain, arrogant, maybe corruptible. Quick to draw his lightsaber and prepare for violence, etc. So far, I LOVE this.

@@Acetheskyhook …I mean, I understand the dichotomy in play. Look how fast he is to draw it, though. It’s a last resort for other, wiser Jedi we see in these two eps. Even Jecki, still a padawan, never draws hers even when pursuing Osha, while Yord draws his immediately any chance he gets. I’m not down on the character, I really do like that they’re showing some of that change from peace keepers for whom violence is the last resort, to the more offensive-minded, arrogant version we get in the prequels.

Using four periods for an ellipsis at the end of a sentence isn’t unique to Star Wars. It is just proper punctuation, i.e., the three periods forming the actual ellipsis and the period as the ending punctuation for the sentence. If the sentence had been a question, it would have been three periods followed by a question mark. The fact that the sentence is one that calls for a period (as opposed to a question mark or exclamation point) doesn’t mean that you don’t put it at the end of the ellipsis.

There’s something about Torbin and his connection to the High Republic books. When we first see him, cross-legged, in deep mediation, levitating a few feet above the floor, the contrast between his beard, scars, receding hairline, and youthful visage, suggests a connection to Avar Kriss-the Jedi Master who led the rescue efforts of Hetzal Prime from the Emergences during the Great Disaster. Avar Kriss was often said to be in a very similar form of gravity defying meditation.

Carrie is 56, and she still has it. I know they have stunt people, but you still have to stay in shape and do some moves. Most actresses stop doing that stuff at that age. She is 🔥
This series is already off to a perfect start. Man, I really wish Dave was in charge when the newer 3 Skywalker movies came out. They could of been so awesome.

I have to again point out that you are ignoring the games... the full Sith code is in KoToR when you actually become an apprentice at a Sith Temple. And in fact, if you look up the history, the creator of the Korriban segment of the game asked Lucas Arts if there was a written Sith code, and the response he got back was to write one, so... David Gaider is the creator of the Sith Code, which released in 2003.

Wow, a Pablo Hidalgo mention! Pablo Hidalgo lost my trust after TLJ. He should get the lion's share of the blame for the sequels going awry, but no one ever seems to mention him. They harp on Disney, Rian Johnson, Kathleen Kennedy, JJ Abrams, but it is rare for anyone to bring up Hidalgo. His job is to guard the continuity of the universe, especially when dealing with people who don't know the IP very well (as Rian Johnson clearly does not). Hidalgo failed miserably, and bragged about it.

In recent canon (up until rey and ventresses yelow sabers) yellow was always given to the Jedi temple guards, it wasn’t the idea of the lightsaber crystal chose the user when it came to the yellow saber it was always the it was given to them. What is Yord having a yellow saber means he’s some sort of early form of Jedi temple guard and that’s why he was also sent as a prisoner collector twice due to him being the kind of authority figure head, Also could just be a Jedi sentinel. Both ideas would explain why Yord is so quick to draw because he’s more of a combative Jedi than a negotiation Jedi. Almost like how yoda very rarely draws his saber but obi wan draws it basically whenever he can

Yord could also be a way of demonstrating the direction the Jedi Order is headed. By the Prequel era they're much more combative and blade happy. Having a young Jedi Knight display those tendencies is a good foreshadowing element.
