I asked the devs about this in person at Bar Citizen Austin and they said that being able to do this is 100% not intended and that it will be patched before 3.20 They had known for about it for a couple days at that point as they had been observing players spawning excessive amounts of Mules to dupe armor, weapons/ammo/multitools/medpens attatched to armor and they told me that players had even been duping drugs as well.
Wow! Thanks for this information. It is so good to have info from that kind of source like devs. So, my fear is coming true...and I hoped people will understand how good this is and not exploit it. I think that when they started to dupe drugs they decided to remove that :(. Unfortunately we still have game bugs that made us loose our armors and weapons so this was a great "feature" to get them back.

You don't need to blow up the ship. Just remove the armor, get in the seat and navigate to the repair and refuel page. It will give you the option to repair the mule and it respawns the armor.
Yeah I know, I just wanted to show another way except repair option. If you destroy your vehicle and reclaim it, you will get the armor for free. Or if you just move your vehicle off the landing pad and claim another. But if you use "repair" system you will need to pay for the armor to appear on the Mule. You will have a repair cost for like 5-6k.
@@LORDV4DERONP1LLS that makes sense. The 5-6k wasn't an issue for me, so I just paid it. I did notice that the "premium helmets" don't seem to copy. I have a paladin and a mandible helmet and they don't repair. Did you test those helmets with the S-D method? I only have one of each and I don't want to risk them 😬
I'd like to see this stay in the game, at least in some form, just for the convinenece of having a loadout ready to go. Charge me the cost of all the items to respawn them, I'm not after item duping, just having a nice quick and easy way to get my preferred a loadout. Now if only the mule had a pistol rack too...

Does this also work from the small vehicle pads at the main landing locations like New Babbage? I'm curious why you flew all the way out to a random outpost.
It is because I mostly play around Crusader, but yeah you can do this on every outpost where you can spawn ground vehicles. But, I believe they have patched this out so I am not sure that this still works.

Today I try to clone the armor whit the Mule but it did not work for me, every time I claim the mule it comes empty. Update: I changed server and the clone still works.
Yes ... everything was working fine until yesterday ... I changed server several times and redid the manipulation but still nothing ... I think it has been patched ... you tried yourself today ?
For now in ships you can insure only weapons because there is no ship that have "box storage slot" like Mule for example, and even if there is any, you need 4 slots, so nope.

That´s not an exploid...! YOU PAY FOR IT EVERY TIME YOU DO IT....! this is called "insurance" you just save yourself time and the hassle of finding them again
Not so sure about that...many times after I reclaimed my ship in earlier patches, my guns where gone. Plus, you don't need to worry, this is a small channel, CIG will never know I published this 😂
Not everyone is using this as an exploit in a way that we are duping guns or armors! You can actually use this in a way that you replicate a "insured" armor only when you loose it. But, it is already fixed so this is not working anymore.

@@gronburak This was already known issue to developers and this is also one of the ways to tell developers that there isnl a bug out there that needs to be adressed. When people start to use something as an exploit, it gets fixed sooner. Anyway this is a win-win situation!

This bug have been fixed, you will lose gear if you try this now. I lost 2 sets of Morozov security gear.

Yeah, I saw that simple reclaim with moving a Mule of the pad is working, so I wanted to test vehicle destruction too.
Just tried today i self destructed it and reclaimed it and it worked.

For armors only Drake Mule because he can store up to 6 boxes and you need 4 for armor. Cyclone and PTV have only one box storage for example.
