it's great to re-review this interview in early Nov, 2024, at 9-0...it was doable...he's gets it so well...thanks Coach Cig!
his hire by Dolson and Whitten , IMO, will change how other University Admins will select their new HC coach and be mining the W% of many more D2-FCS schools' HCs...! Merit and actual game managed performance still predicts winning, over mere potential, as Winning is an actual, not just a tommorrow concept - to paraphrase Coach Cig.

Arrogant is a good thing looking at IU’s history. It’s about time that the coach was running the show and demanding a level of discipline and accountability. If a player can’t accept that then good bye…particularly when you now can make good money as a college athlete.

Fortunately for Cignetti, your non-conference scheduler and the Big 10 office dealt him an easy hand until November. Too bad your AD bought you out of the UK and UL contracts, either would have been a better test than Western ILL!

No way this gets turned around, and I’m an IU grad.
Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State and now Oregon and USC will absolutely kick the legs out of this program. He’s just saying the typical politically correct word salad. Can’t stand the BS. Dan Campbell is the type of guy we need. No nonsense, telling it like it is and smash mouth play. His verbiage is pure slick talking, “show me the money,” ultimate failure. I’ll never understand how college athletic directors can be so gullible.
Curt’s old man shoes are a dead give away. I’m 59 and I wear more athletic shoes, and I run three miles a day.

This guy is in for a rude awakening. He has no clue what it takes to move a program from perennial bottom feeder to the upper echelon of the B1G, where the hierarchy of programs is far more rigid than most other conferences, even more so than in the SEC. IU does offer the advantage of having zero academic standards for athletes and enough rich alums to buy some players. The problem is not enough IU fans give a bleep about football and most never will. Even when IU was competitive, they couldn't fill the smallest stadium in the B1G.
