  • First time beating the DLC Final Boss. If you want to do a no-dmg deflect run, this might help. Deflect radahn is pretty fun after a while.

    I like doing this with a colossal, the guard counters are nice. You still block like 95% of incoming damage. Bleed Chicken Wing with the Deflecting Hardtear is hilarious.

    Nice job at making it look easy. I might pick up this in my next play through. I also used the back hand blade with frost. But I didn’t think to use the shield with deflection. The first faze is manageable to get through, it’s the second that gave me the most trouble. So I imagine that duel wielding through the first faze then switching to she shield deflect will give snobby time to the tear to not wear out.

    Dude... this is great! This makes me appreciate my Guard-Counter Tank even more. This combined with Pearl-Shield Tali, Curved Sword Tali will make it quite potent.
    The real question is, what status effects work on RadMiq? I see frost works. Does poison or bleed?

      i also used a variation of a shield guard counter build. Rot works since i got bored and frustrated dying over and over so i used some of the hefty rot pots and he was thoroughly cheesed. I imagine poison also does then. so i guess all status work.

    • @WynterLegend
      @WynterLegend Месяц назад

      @@max_kanna I doubt Madness works. It only works on Gideon.
      But hey, should the others work, it'll be Roofie-boy and Unwilling-Boyfriend fighting against me tanking everything they can throw at me while I regenerate HP constantly, and theirs ticks down.

      @@WynterLegend From what I've read online, bleed seems to be the best choice. Poison will work but I'm not sure how effective it is in phase 2

      @WynterLegend Месяц назад

      @@VFryt True. It just seems that during most of the fights, I'm waiting for openings. So, while I'm guarding and waiting for openings, poison will tick away.

      @@VFryt Turns out, it works just fine. Sure, he clears the status effects in Ph2. But, it just treats it almost like a fresh fight, in terms of re-afflicting.

    Nice job! How hard was he to learn to deflect? How hard is getting used to deflecting in ER?

    • @VFryt
      @VFryt  Месяц назад

      Pretty tough, he's got everything. Combos, extended combos, speed, delays, projectiles, counter attacks, gimmick attacks, damage, small openings, etc.
      Deflecting in ER is pretty much the same in Sekiro but it comes with a stamina bar and chip damage.

    is deflecting better for this fight? looking at your timing for it, you could do more damage maybe just perry him, since you have the timing right most of the time.

      @@andyy6481 yeah parrying is way better, but deflecting looks cooler

    What on earth am I watching here? Are you parrying each of these hits, or just block each one, or? Teach a newbie.

    • @Blamjack
      @Blamjack Месяц назад +2

      They added a new flask tear that lets you negate damage and deplete a smaller amount of stamina if you time your guard (not parry, just L1 with a no skill shield). Every little "tink" you hear in this video is this monster timing his L1 correctly and sometimes using the guard counter/wep skill.

    • @longtermFX
      @longtermFX Месяц назад

      @@Blamjack Ahhhh okay. So, the flask tear lasted the whole battle? So the L1 blocks are only effective if you time them, or could the player just hold down R1 the whole time? I'm aware of the Stamina regen going slower if holding down, just wondering. I've been having a lot of fun Boss Rushing these, but haven't got to Radahn yet. This is something I must try!

    • @VFryt
      @VFryt  Месяц назад

      @@longtermFX stamina regen and stamina loss is based on your build. But the deflect flask tear massively reduces stamina loss, and reduces dmg taken. But you have to time your block the moment the attack lands on your character or it will not work. Block too early, and its a normal block with massive stamina drain. Block too late and you take damage. The deflect buff lasts for 5 minutes.

    This is why this concept of combat sucks: you don't have to mechanically learn every frame to win. When a bossfight doesn't let you read its movements and being incredibly annoying something is wrong. And Elden Ring is full of this kind of stuff. Proportions and balance are fuckd off in this dlc, some bosses are literally broken. Not my idea of a pleasant gameplay, more like a "uuuh, gonna finish it quick" to end your suffer. It just sucks.

    • @VFryt
      @VFryt  Месяц назад

      Yeah, those delays are annoying. The game kinda forces the players to always bring a shield in order to study the enemy movement first.
      It's hard to read and you need several retries until you get the timing right.
      It's a completely unnatural way of learning a boss fight. Plus, some weapons are too slow for the boss.
      Personally, I don't mind dying several times in order to dance with the boss.
      But those necessary death counts could have been avoided with better survivability mechanics added in. Like how Sekiro completely removed the stamina bar and gave a lot of leeway to study the boss on the first try.
