Instead of having the materials so high on the market place that you know they won't sell, put them a bit above market price. If they sell, great, buy back the materials when you need them from the people selling for lower. If they don't, you spent less money on listing fees.
One thing about jewel crafting and gem cutting. Salvaging crafted earrings/neck/rings with gems in them guarantees the gem is returned to you “uncut”. You’ll want your old gems you craft with so you can fuse them to make the higher tier and start crafting with those.
I have two more tips to add: #26 - Boost your gearscore watermark to get better item drops. Your watermark is a 'score" that is based on the gearscores of the gear and weapons you have had equipped at SOME POINT even if you are no longer using that particular item. This watermark will determine the gearscore range of items that drop from mobs, that you get from chests/crates/stockpiles, etc. The higher your gearscore watermark, the better your drops will likely be. You can boost this watermark by temporarily equipping items that have higher gearscores than the gear you actually use. So, when you are out killing mobs, doing quests, looting chests, etc. and you get a junky "grey" common item or some random item that may not have the right stats, still make sure to check it's gearscore before you salvage it. If the gearscore is higher than what you have equipped, equip the junk gear for a moment to boost up your gearscore, then put your normal gear back on and go ahead and salvage that junk item. Your watermark will remain at that higher score and your future loot will be better than before. #27 - The satchel you get from the early game quest is pretty junky... but one person's garbage is another person's treasure. When you get the Satchel in the early game from the quest in the first settlement, you can choose to go ahead and use it. However, it really isn't very good as it only gives +50 encumbrance. Instead, head over to the trading market and check the prices for the crafted bags and also see if anyone is selling the satchel you got from the quest. You might be able to buy a crafted bag, and then sell off the one you got from the quest to offset the cost of buying the crafted bag. During Open beta, I bought a crafted bag with a higher encumbrance bonus AND a perk for 500 gold, and then sold my quest satchel for 350 gold making the much better crafted bag really only cost me about 150g when all was said and done. As long as you list your quest satchel to be the cheapest on the market, it will most likely get bought by someone.
@@Luzworlde just know about them from personal experience playing both betas. The watermark one is somewhat widely known, but rarely gets mentioned in "tips" videos so many newbies don't know about it yet
@@minmaxmedia Yo Thank you dude I m a french New World Creator so I'll certainly use your tips in one of my coming video, If you want I can Mention you !!
your #26 indeed! This is why, especially at low levels, you should equip the highest level item you have, even if it's not the right stat for your build. Also, this DOES include, say, for instance, a ring slot. If your ring slot comes open, and you aren't wearing one, that is dragging down your score. It could be worth it to just buy a cheap one off the Market just to boost your score.
Thanks for a lot of good tips. I just wanted to point out that 1 set of Iron Tools is 152 Iron Ore, 40 Green Wood and 24 Rawhide. The remainder of the mats is for the fishing pole, which is an item a lot of people are better off skipping, at least early on.
Its good to know though that you cannot get gold ingots early game without fishing...To smelt gold you need a higher then base level furnace so no town can smelt it until its progressed. And depending on how a company chooses to progress a town the smelter is usually not priority immediately. Gold ingots are used to make level 20 blue gear score 360 gear with 75 in the crafting. For example I rush 75 engineer to make calamity a 360 gear score musket with perks that benefit my trapper build(its a very good gun and last until level 32). So for me gold is needed which means fishing is needed. The only other way to acquire gold other then fishing is to buy it from a fisher or wait until the town progresses which could take days. In open beta I put a buy order for 4 gold ingots at 100 coins each and it still took 2 days to fulfill. you have to get treasure chests from fishing to acquire them early.
