@@christianrolls8902 Probably stems from most critizisers have no clue what they are talking about - like Peons last GW2 review, where he judged an entire expansion after playing 10% of its content - while GW2, beyond all other MMOs, is a game of varied content, not just about a single aspect. A lot of critics also come from people not being used to and understanding horizontal progression as 95% of MMOs progress vertically. You can make fair critisizm about GW2 but that rarely happens.

I used to love mmorpgs. But I've been finding it harder to get invested into such games again. Especially after playing incredible single-player games. I've started to value higher quality tailored experiences far more recently. Games like wow, destiny 2, and ff14 either feels like a waist of time or is too much of a time investment. Ff14, for example, has a 200-300 hour investment for the main story and its expansions. Not to mention everything that's in a mmo is mediocre compared to single-player games. Combat is usually not as good or not as satisfying, needless grinding. poe hits differently in this aspect and is an exception. The feeling of accomplishment is also not there anymore in these games. Not that a really feel like I need admiration from others anyway anymore, which i feel like is the main appeal of mmorpgs. Ah, maybe I'm just getting older.
Lord of the Rings Online was worth a mention as well, new Legendary/ classic servers with modern 64 bit servers really increased the population density of the server. Recommended for any fan of the books and movies.
Having played BDO on EU exactly a year ago - it was relatively deadish. Yes, there were players, but honestly there were barely any social interactions. The vast majority of folk were older players, struggling with whether they want to call it quits or not. There were newer folk, some of which were being guided and so on, and some of which casuals that were running around at their own pace. But I tried playing it to find people to play with and hang out with and no one really did that whatsoever. I found only but a handful of guilds that had a discord that wasn't completely dead and would vc at least somewhat regularly - and they were at all-time lows in terms of activity. Everywhere you go, everyone you talk to, it was always either criticizing of the new stuff or reminiscing and nostalgia. Take what you will from that. It was a year ago, after all, in the holiday season. I personally, despite liking the game, don't plan on coming back soon. P.s. the game did have many improvements, but it was so difficult to catch up on everything and it just felt like a solo grind arpg.
I think it probably depends on what circles you land in, I actually got kicked out of my former guild because they decided to make regular discord calls mandatory and updated their gear score requirements. And I've personally never seen much interaction between players in any MMO I played so the gatherings around impromptu Shai concerts is more than I usually see. The chat groups that you choose probably also play a role in what kind of conversations you hear. I just tend to ignore doom Sayers since they always find something to complain about and I just want to enjoy the game I think with BDO it's important that you enjoy the gameplay, if you're just doing something to reach a certain goal you will burnout sooner or later. That's why a lot of people will tell you to ignore the meta and just find a class that you enjoy
Wrong, very few are nostalgic for the old BDO, people hate the old BDO even more than the current BDO. The few people that do just hate the fact that new players get an easy pass to actually experience the higher levels in the game early on compared to how it used to be and that their grinding for levels meant nothing. Things that are actually turning people away are mandatory discord for a lot of guilds. The sea content, which is very empty and will remain so because of desync issues on a fundamental level. The gear progression constantly shifting a level higher every year which makes the countless hours grinding for silver mean nothing. PvP being absolute garbage because it doesn't scale in gear but it will stay that way to make whales feel better about spending 100 thousand on the game. Besides that though you still have as many people as before- on EU server at least, clowning around in group chat, because it is the most unmoderated chat in all existence. People literally just come to the game to afk and talk garbage in chat, to be racist or helpful or just talk about the most random stuff ever. Which is why bdo is the best MMO, hands down.
I genuinely felt like I deserved a refund for the new world fiasco but since the relaunch I’ve actually been having a good time, almost max lvl feels like I got my moneys worth this time around.
After playing for 5 years,I quit BDO january 2024 because of the directions PA took, havent read anything about the game for the whole year and for what you said people are still not very pleased, yikes.
Lost Ark wont ever be good/revived unless the devs do 3 things. 1. Gear reset , I know they said they would never do this again because whales despised it the first time but its needed. 2. Remove Transcendence and Elixirs 3. Find a way to limit gatekeeping or remove roster level (quit the game becasue once I got akkahn I would just get gatekept due to low roster level)
I started a new normal character on RS3 after playing OSRS for about a month... both games are great but some skilling features in RS3 ultimately won me over. I set restrictions on myself, such as not buying from the GE and doing the quests in Timeline order. It has been a blast so far. I might try ironman in the future if I ever feel like starting over.
Shoutout to the Dark Age Of Camelot freeshard server: Eden. Going onto season 3 in January for an annual fresh start; DAoC has been the greatest RvR (realm versus realm / PvP ) experience since it came out and still holds this title through this server. The dev team have made consistent quality of life changes while keeping the original concepts in tact (before all the expansions muddied the content and devolved into what the live servers are today). If you're looking to get into a quality MMORPG in the new year, with focus on non-mirrored, 3-way pvp battles, I highly recommend it. It has a learning curve being an older game, so completely new players will need to research and ask questions, but the dev team hosting it have been amazing and introduced a lot of quality of live improvements while still keeping the nostalgic feeling in tact. I highly recommend giving it a try...
I'm very interested in once human, because I've been saying for a long time that a seasonal MMO is the way to go, though a reset every few weeks is way too fast. Imagine an mmo like runescape with modern graphics and more action combat with lots of skills/professions that are quite a bit less grindy because it would reset every 3 months. Just a pure dopamine farm.
Highly recommend Once Human as someone that has played mmos and survival games most of their life. It's crazy how well polished the game is when everything in this damn genre is early access and it's just great considering it's a free game. There's a ridiculous amount of stuff in the cash shop but they're all just fancy cosmetics, it really does feel like Warframe with how the pay model is structured. The wipes aren't that big of a deal since you can just transfer a lot of stuff to the new character and the reset is every 6 weeks. Also the game allows you to save a template for your house that will just copy EVERYTHING, so you can just build it again in one click, which I found amazing. If you like survival games, I'd put it around the same level as current Conan Exiles but way more polished even after all these years.
I'm on my 4th season rn, January will be big update with another added map added, wheres the lore of how everything happend is explained. Its a very pop on- off game and does not require you to be online 24/7.

reset is every 6 phases ( with each phase lasting a week, so 6 weeks) not every few weeks. It used to be every 4 weeks but was changed due to players asking for longer time between resets
Argos release was handled terribly one month into the game and that’s what culled the playerbase by 80%. Most other raids weren’t 1/10th as bad as Argos. Just a month after Argos Valtan was easy to reach and so was Vykas, and Kakul saydon. If Argos was handled better we would’ve had hundreds of thousands more players actually trying out the first real raid, but sadly most quit before even truly experiencing the game. We would’ve definitely lost more players at Kakul and Brelshaza release cause those 2 raids were too hardcore for casual players, but at least they would’ve experienced the game and realizing they’re not good enough vs the game robbing them of that experience cause of poor management.
I just tried to download this game and play, the account i created seconds before downloading did not work. Then i found out about having to create another accoubt just for lotro and gave up. If they cant streamline me installing the fucking game. Its not worth my time. Lol glad u enjoy it tho.

I have spent insane amounts of time in MMO`s since Anarchy Online, Asherons Call, Everquest, SWG, then ofc WOW, and a ton of others that came after. But today, with a company and 3 kids I dont have time to get friends in the game and I get bored of them in just 1-2 months... Dont know why I commented this, lol, but I did...
Honestly, even if fallen from grace, it's still good to see good ol wow being at the top. Also funny to think that even private servers combined are more popular than the rest too~
My Three MMO im playing currently is Once Human, FFXIV and GW2 and having a great time. Going to be jumping back into SWTOR because I still love that game also!
After 12 years of playing some of the most obscure mmorpgs on the side (Eldevin, Villagers & Heroes, LOONG Dragonbloood, R.O.H.A.N.: Blood Feud, Karos online, etc... and checking out most of the fantasy mmorpgs, I have now settled for...well...LOTRO and World of Warcraft; because I want "my" servers/games up and running 12 years from now 🤫
after all these years we come back to the point that Wow is still the king of this genre. even tho i dont play it anymore im so happy to have those memories.
SWTOR was so much fun. I can't remember why I stopped playing. Lately I've been playing Diablo 4 and am looking forward to Path of Exile 2 and eventually Ashes of Creation. I was a part of both the Lost Ark and New World fall offs. Both were impressive for unique reasons, but had issues that limited the overall experience, for example New World's combat. I did try BDO, ESO, and T&L, but did not personally enjoy them.
Throne and liberty is actually a very good game specially if you're PVP enjoyer , it still lacks a a lot when it comes to PVE and the combat system is meh , but it has a lot of room for improvements and the devs are listening and making some changes . But to be honest unless it fixes it's core issues , by the end of next 2025 Q1 it will lose most of it's player base .
The "most people play from the official launcher" thing seems a cope (for some of these games). How could you know that? How many off steam players are we expecting there are?
I became a totally new Wow player this year, never played it before and I'm having much fun, starting with Classic Expansions. I played Throne and Liberty before that and was dissapointed by it bc I was expecting it be like Lost Ark in 2020...
Lost literally just had it's drastic update with season 3... it fixed very little. The game is still doing alright in Korea(and maybe China) but the rest of the world seems to be getting little attention.
I dont know if you have tried it but an MMO i have been having fun playing the last 6 months is toram online. It does have a bunch of issues but overall i think its actually a pretty good game.
Kinda sucks we cant have solid numbers anywhere, because I'm kinda wondering how different the list would be with the chinese and korean MMOs and their playerbase included, they would probably dominate half of the list. Like, I'm pretty sure that technically, Dungeon Fighter Online is more popular than FFXIV.
DFO still is the highest grossing game over in Asia... which is such a huge shame the numbers are so pathetic in the rest of the world. If the game had such an active player base over here too it would've been a great mmo to main, especially for the pvp scene. I miss the old Dark Eden, Dragon Nest, C9 and Lunia days.
What about LOTRO? Its a pretty stable game with a healthy playerbase, if not huge in number. Its always populated and the playerbase is consistent. If anything, its gaining, too.

I’ve been enjoying T&L more than any new MMORPG I’ve tried in the last 10 years, being someone who mained OSRS my whole life. The game has a lot of systems but they’re better explained and not as complicated as other MMOs, and so I’ve actually been able to play the game without feeling overwhelmed. Not only that but the seeing as how anything you can buy with real money, you can also earn through playing the game and farming items to sell for cash shop currency, the you don’t feel the pay to win as much. Also, this game has given me more positive social interactions in a video game than I’ve had in 10 years as well. The downsides are definitely the clunkiness of the movement and combat, I hope they can make small improvements to it because I really want this game to succeed long term
This is really based on the numbers only. I am not sure if you try to log into BDO in recent months, but BDO is dead. The PvP scene looks like it on the testing server. There are no more players, no content, unbalanced everything. There are like 1k active players while the rest are AFK players hoping for revival. If they don't start making radical changes, it is very close to server closure.
surprised to see foxhole on the list. This game is not for everyone, but it is very fun and rewarding nonetheless. Very good community and you should find a group to tag along with if you intend to really see all aspects the game has to offer.
I love runescape 3, but recently there was an issue with accounts and the merge to their new launcher. With that, ive lost my 20 year old account with zero updates from jagex on recovery in 5 months. I don't think i will make a return, and I'm still itching to play...

Eh, LA is only bad because of its mobile structure, the store is whatever. Doing 5 things daily on a character that you finish in an hour or two and then having the option to do ignorable increments, doing it again on another characters or just dropping the game for the day really ruined how it played.

he's sadly pigeon hole'd himself into a strange place. He needs to diversify his content he can't just make a living (or new and refreshing content) by trying and reviewing MMORPGs. it's already a niche and slowly dying genre and people who make it work tend to have a spin on their videos. Take Josh Strife Hayes, he playes SUPER niche mmorpgs with the intention of finding buggy weird and unique dead games no one plays. I love lazypeon but he needs to do more content that isn't just looking briefly at a new MMORPG or revisiting an old one or review tier lists. it's just stale content.
SWTOR also getting a remaster soon as well. 👌 (Hopefully more content in the future, but at least everything will look up to date with graphics. 🤷♂️ lol) Also...As far as ESO goes...I'm lowkey surprised yet NOT surprised in a way. 🤔 (I played for 7 1/2 years just about. I really only played pvp and did pve when I had to acquire new gear FOR pvp. Or level up a character lol) I will definitely say though that the gameplay shown didn't quite do it justice lol (I promise it looks better than that in many ways as you progress and perhaps use a much more...zoomed out camera angle?...No you don't have to play THAT zoomed in lol) The overall mechanics are still among the best if not THEE best i've ever came in touch with. The capabilities of what you can do pvp/pve wise isn't really limited in most cases to just 'gear' and numbers. Can you solo a dungeon? Sure. Do you need to be in a ball group? (Aka ZERG...I very much hated the zerglings as we called them, btw lol) NO...If skilled enough, (Which is something I really appreciate about ESO) you can fight other players outnumbered and come out on top. (Aka 1vX'ing) I've seen many 1vX's occur where one GOOD player just absolutely 💩 on 5+ bad players despite gear difference because that good player had 'skill'. The gear didn't matter or the fact they were outnumbered. (I feel that's what most MMORPGs lack is giving the solo players a fair shake instead of immediately having to die because, "Oh, you're outnumbered." "They have better gear..." Well guess what...NOT how ESO works. 🤷♂️ You either upgrade your personal skill/reaction timing, combined with knowledge of the game...Or you're gonna get 💩 on still. Especially if someone is better lol Up to you really. 👌💯)

@@RenTinyviel I play 14 but I only play it when there's new content and once i've done that content I dip till the next. I did play Lost Ark from the start up until a few months in to Brel Hard+ that angel boss but I dropped it due to burn out. I've thought about getting back into it but I'm sadly waaay to aware of the gatekeeping issues. Wow's not my cup of tea and SWTOR combat doesn't feel very good. That aside, I played Tera and Pso2 for a long time years ago.

As someone who put almost 9k hours into ESO over the course of 7 1/2 years I honestly can't recommend it anymore. The devs don't listen to the players, the most recent expansion was pretty bare bones and didn't hold most people's interest after a few weeks, 99% of skins and costumes (and 99.99% of mounts) are locked in the crown store, the economy is currently suffering greatly due to poor choices by the devs, end game pve is dying due to years of only getting 2 dungeons and 1 trials a year, PvP is on life support despite the most recent patch revamping battlegrounds and balance is a complete joke in PvP and PvE. If you just want to do quests and act like you're playing Skyrim then it's the perfect game for you, but any kind of meaningful group content or competitive play is almost dead
I'd like to hear your take on Evercraft once the next play test is available. Despite being an indie MMORPG, they had a very stable experience with tons of players even after they merged the 2 test servers before shutdown. I'm a huge fan of the gameplay, design, mechanics and aesthetics of Everquest and Evercraft is essentially a translation into a new engine. It resolves one of my biggest pet peeves with Everquest which is the rubber banding whenever other players are moving around you.

thanks LP! Personally, Ive settled on FF14 last 4+ years, suits me well. for any that never gave FF14 a good try, highly recommend it. looking forward to POE 2 though as well, for something else to add to the mix
I wouldn't encourage anyone to play Maple Story given the excessively predatory behavior they've demonstrated with their dynamic gacha system. I know gacha games are meant to farm people for money, but I think MS has taken it to a whole other level.

Having played BDO on EU exactly a year ago - it was relatively deadish. Yes, there were players, but honestly there were barely any social interactions. The vast majority of folk were older players, struggling with whether they want to call it quits or not. There were newer folk, some of which were being guided and so on, and some of which casuals that were running around at their own pace. But I tried playing it to find people to play with and hang out with and no one really did that whatsoever. I found only but a handful of guilds that had a discord that wasn't completely dead and would vc at least somewhat regularly - and they were at all-time lows in terms of activity. Everywhere you go, everyone you talk to, it was always either criticizing of the new stuff or reminiscing and nostalgia.
Take what you will from that. It was a year ago, after all, in the holiday season. I personally, despite liking the game, don't plan on coming back soon.
P.s. the game did have many improvements, but it was so difficult to catch up on everything and it just felt like a solo grind arpg.
I think it probably depends on what circles you land in, I actually got kicked out of my former guild because they decided to make regular discord calls mandatory and updated their gear score requirements. And I've personally never seen much interaction between players in any MMO I played so the gatherings around impromptu Shai concerts is more than I usually see. The chat groups that you choose probably also play a role in what kind of conversations you hear. I just tend to ignore doom Sayers since they always find something to complain about and I just want to enjoy the game
I think with BDO it's important that you enjoy the gameplay, if you're just doing something to reach a certain goal you will burnout sooner or later. That's why a lot of people will tell you to ignore the meta and just find a class that you enjoy
Wrong, very few are nostalgic for the old BDO, people hate the old BDO even more than the current BDO. The few people that do just hate the fact that new players get an easy pass to actually experience the higher levels in the game early on compared to how it used to be and that their grinding for levels meant nothing. Things that are actually turning people away are mandatory discord for a lot of guilds. The sea content, which is very empty and will remain so because of desync issues on a fundamental level. The gear progression constantly shifting a level higher every year which makes the countless hours grinding for silver mean nothing. PvP being absolute garbage because it doesn't scale in gear but it will stay that way to make whales feel better about spending 100 thousand on the game.
Besides that though you still have as many people as before- on EU server at least, clowning around in group chat, because it is the most unmoderated chat in all existence. People literally just come to the game to afk and talk garbage in chat, to be racist or helpful or just talk about the most random stuff ever. Which is why bdo is the best MMO, hands down.
I genuinely felt like I deserved a refund for the new world fiasco but since the relaunch I’ve actually been having a good time, almost max lvl feels like I got my moneys worth this time around.
After playing for 5 years,I quit BDO january 2024 because of the directions PA took, havent read anything about the game for the whole year and for what you said people are still not very pleased, yikes.
Lost Ark wont ever be good/revived unless the devs do 3 things.
1. Gear reset , I know they said they would never do this again because whales despised it the first time but its needed.
2. Remove Transcendence and Elixirs
3. Find a way to limit gatekeeping or remove roster level (quit the game becasue once I got akkahn I would just get gatekept due to low roster level)
The game is trash and designed for whales.
I think Star Trek Online absolutely should be on the list. I havent played it in years but it feels like it always has a solid playerbase.
I started a new normal character on RS3 after playing OSRS for about a month... both games are great but some skilling features in RS3 ultimately won me over. I set restrictions on myself, such as not buying from the GE and doing the quests in Timeline order. It has been a blast so far. I might try ironman in the future if I ever feel like starting over.

Shoutout to the Dark Age Of Camelot freeshard server: Eden. Going onto season 3 in January for an annual fresh start; DAoC has been the greatest RvR (realm versus realm / PvP ) experience since it came out and still holds this title through this server. The dev team have made consistent quality of life changes while keeping the original concepts in tact (before all the expansions muddied the content and devolved into what the live servers are today).
If you're looking to get into a quality MMORPG in the new year, with focus on non-mirrored, 3-way pvp battles, I highly recommend it. It has a learning curve being an older game, so completely new players will need to research and ask questions, but the dev team hosting it have been amazing and introduced a lot of quality of live improvements while still keeping the nostalgic feeling in tact. I highly recommend giving it a try...

I'm very interested in once human, because I've been saying for a long time that a seasonal MMO is the way to go, though a reset every few weeks is way too fast. Imagine an mmo like runescape with modern graphics and more action combat with lots of skills/professions that are quite a bit less grindy because it would reset every 3 months. Just a pure dopamine farm.
Highly recommend Once Human as someone that has played mmos and survival games most of their life. It's crazy how well polished the game is when everything in this damn genre is early access and it's just great considering it's a free game. There's a ridiculous amount of stuff in the cash shop but they're all just fancy cosmetics, it really does feel like Warframe with how the pay model is structured. The wipes aren't that big of a deal since you can just transfer a lot of stuff to the new character and the reset is every 6 weeks.
Also the game allows you to save a template for your house that will just copy EVERYTHING, so you can just build it again in one click, which I found amazing. If you like survival games, I'd put it around the same level as current Conan Exiles but way more polished even after all these years.
I'm on my 4th season rn, January will be big update with another added map added, wheres the lore of how everything happend is explained. Its a very pop on- off game and does not require you to be online 24/7.

reset is every 6 phases ( with each phase lasting a week, so 6 weeks) not every few weeks. It used to be every 4 weeks but was changed due to players asking for longer time between resets

Lost Ark lost many due to the limits it puts on players. Never limit your players for everything and don't FORCE them to do anything if possible.
Argos release was handled terribly one month into the game and that’s what culled the playerbase by 80%. Most other raids weren’t 1/10th as bad as Argos. Just a month after Argos Valtan was easy to reach and so was Vykas, and Kakul saydon. If Argos was handled better we would’ve had hundreds of thousands more players actually trying out the first real raid, but sadly most quit before even truly experiencing the game. We would’ve definitely lost more players at Kakul and Brelshaza release cause those 2 raids were too hardcore for casual players, but at least they would’ve experienced the game and realizing they’re not good enough vs the game robbing them of that experience cause of poor management.

I just tried to download this game and play, the account i created seconds before downloading did not work. Then i found out about having to create another accoubt just for lotro and gave up. If they cant streamline me installing the fucking game. Its not worth my time. Lol glad u enjoy it tho.

I have spent insane amounts of time in MMO`s since Anarchy Online, Asherons Call, Everquest, SWG, then ofc WOW, and a ton of others that came after. But today, with a company and 3 kids I dont have time to get friends in the game and I get bored of them in just 1-2 months...

After 12 years of playing some of the most obscure mmorpgs on the side (Eldevin, Villagers & Heroes, LOONG Dragonbloood, R.O.H.A.N.: Blood Feud, Karos online, etc... and checking out most of the fantasy mmorpgs, I have now settled for...well...LOTRO and World of Warcraft; because I want "my" servers/games up and running 12 years from now 🤫

SWTOR was so much fun. I can't remember why I stopped playing. Lately I've been playing Diablo 4 and am looking forward to Path of Exile 2 and eventually Ashes of Creation. I was a part of both the Lost Ark and New World fall offs. Both were impressive for unique reasons, but had issues that limited the overall experience, for example New World's combat. I did try BDO, ESO, and T&L, but did not personally enjoy them.

Throne and liberty is actually a very good game specially if you're PVP enjoyer , it still lacks a a lot when it comes to PVE and the combat system is meh , but it has a lot of room for improvements and the devs are listening and making some changes .
But to be honest unless it fixes it's core issues , by the end of next 2025 Q1 it will lose most of it's player base .
Guild Wars 2, TESO and New World are the best overall on this list for me personally I just wish all 3 had more players because they deserve it

I became a totally new Wow player this year, never played it before and I'm having much fun, starting with Classic Expansions. I played Throne and Liberty before that and was dissapointed by it bc I was expecting it be like Lost Ark in 2020...

Lost literally just had it's drastic update with season 3... it fixed very little. The game is still doing alright in Korea(and maybe China) but the rest of the world seems to be getting little attention.
I dont know if you have tried it but an MMO i have been having fun playing the last 6 months is toram online.
It does have a bunch of issues but overall i think its actually a pretty good game.

Kinda sucks we cant have solid numbers anywhere, because I'm kinda wondering how different the list would be with the chinese and korean MMOs and their playerbase included, they would probably dominate half of the list. Like, I'm pretty sure that technically, Dungeon Fighter Online is more popular than FFXIV.
DFO still is the highest grossing game over in Asia... which is such a huge shame the numbers are so pathetic in the rest of the world. If the game had such an active player base over here too it would've been a great mmo to main, especially for the pvp scene. I miss the old Dark Eden, Dragon Nest, C9 and Lunia days.

What about LOTRO? Its a pretty stable game with a healthy playerbase, if not huge in number. Its always populated and the playerbase is consistent. If anything, its gaining, too.

I’ve been enjoying T&L more than any new MMORPG I’ve tried in the last 10 years, being someone who mained OSRS my whole life. The game has a lot of systems but they’re better explained and not as complicated as other MMOs, and so I’ve actually been able to play the game without feeling overwhelmed.
Not only that but the seeing as how anything you can buy with real money, you can also earn through playing the game and farming items to sell for cash shop currency, the you don’t feel the pay to win as much.
Also, this game has given me more positive social interactions in a video game than I’ve had in 10 years as well.
The downsides are definitely the clunkiness of the movement and combat, I hope they can make small improvements to it because I really want this game to succeed long term

This is really based on the numbers only. I am not sure if you try to log into BDO in recent months, but BDO is dead. The PvP scene looks like it on the testing server. There are no more players, no content, unbalanced everything. There are like 1k active players while the rest are AFK players hoping for revival.
If they don't start making radical changes, it is very close to server closure.
surprised to see foxhole on the list. This game is not for everyone, but it is very fun and rewarding nonetheless. Very good community and you should find a group to tag along with if you intend to really see all aspects the game has to offer.

Eh, LA is only bad because of its mobile structure, the store is whatever. Doing 5 things daily on a character that you finish in an hour or two and then having the option to do ignorable increments, doing it again on another characters or just dropping the game for the day really ruined how it played.
@@Relhio I liked the whole idea of sailing around to islands and exploring the world. Soundtrack was awesome too. Maybe the Atlas map in path of exile 2 will scratch that itch for me again, hopefully.

he's sadly pigeon hole'd himself into a strange place. He needs to diversify his content he can't just make a living (or new and refreshing content) by trying and reviewing MMORPGs. it's already a niche and slowly dying genre and people who make it work tend to have a spin on their videos. Take Josh Strife Hayes, he playes SUPER niche mmorpgs with the intention of finding buggy weird and unique dead games no one plays.
I love lazypeon but he needs to do more content that isn't just looking briefly at a new MMORPG or revisiting an old one or review tier lists. it's just stale content.

Also...As far as ESO goes...I'm lowkey surprised yet NOT surprised in a way. 🤔 (I played for 7 1/2 years just about. I really only played pvp and did pve when I had to acquire new gear FOR pvp. Or level up a character lol)
I will definitely say though that the gameplay shown didn't quite do it justice lol (I promise it looks better than that in many ways as you progress and perhaps use a much more...zoomed out camera angle?...No you don't have to play THAT zoomed in lol) The overall mechanics are still among the best if not THEE best i've ever came in touch with. The capabilities of what you can do pvp/pve wise isn't really limited in most cases to just 'gear' and numbers. Can you solo a dungeon? Sure. Do you need to be in a ball group? (Aka ZERG...I very much hated the zerglings as we called them, btw lol) NO...If skilled enough, (Which is something I really appreciate about ESO) you can fight other players outnumbered and come out on top. (Aka 1vX'ing) I've seen many 1vX's occur where one GOOD player just absolutely 💩 on 5+ bad players despite gear difference because that good player had 'skill'. The gear didn't matter or the fact they were outnumbered. (I feel that's what most MMORPGs lack is giving the solo players a fair shake instead of immediately having to die because, "Oh, you're outnumbered." "They have better gear..." Well guess what...NOT how ESO works. 🤷♂️ You either upgrade your personal skill/reaction timing, combined with knowledge of the game...Or you're gonna get 💩 on still. Especially if someone is better lol Up to you really. 👌💯)
New world, Bdo, Albion, Throne and Liberty all of some interest to me. But I'm a pve guy and it seems all of these in the end are end game pvp? Some pve but lack there of? Feel free to correct me.
For some reason you interested in clearly pvp focused games, and not interested in pve ones like FF14, WoW, SWTOR, Lost Ark.

@@RenTinyviel I play 14 but I only play it when there's new content and once i've done that content I dip till the next. I did play Lost Ark from the start up until a few months in to Brel Hard+ that angel boss but I dropped it due to burn out. I've thought about getting back into it but I'm sadly waaay to aware of the gatekeeping issues. Wow's not my cup of tea and SWTOR combat doesn't feel very good.

As someone who put almost 9k hours into ESO over the course of 7 1/2 years I honestly can't recommend it anymore. The devs don't listen to the players, the most recent expansion was pretty bare bones and didn't hold most people's interest after a few weeks, 99% of skins and costumes (and 99.99% of mounts) are locked in the crown store, the economy is currently suffering greatly due to poor choices by the devs, end game pve is dying due to years of only getting 2 dungeons and 1 trials a year, PvP is on life support despite the most recent patch revamping battlegrounds and balance is a complete joke in PvP and PvE. If you just want to do quests and act like you're playing Skyrim then it's the perfect game for you, but any kind of meaningful group content or competitive play is almost dead

Looks like my gaming future will be tied to Ashes of Creation (Alpha 2) and PoE 2 (Early Access).
I'd like to hear your take on Evercraft once the next play test is available. Despite being an indie MMORPG, they had a very stable experience with tons of players even after they merged the 2 test servers before shutdown. I'm a huge fan of the gameplay, design, mechanics and aesthetics of Everquest and Evercraft is essentially a translation into a new engine. It resolves one of my biggest pet peeves with Everquest which is the rubber banding whenever other players are moving around you.
I will play Go Go Muffin on December 4th.. its really fit for me as adult worker xD

I wouldn't encourage anyone to play Maple Story given the excessively predatory behavior they've demonstrated with their dynamic gacha system. I know gacha games are meant to farm people for money, but I think MS has taken it to a whole other level.
