Hang in there folks. You seem like a beautiful couple. I hope it works out well for you guys. Don't be afraid to make another change if that is the best decision for your family. Nz can be surprisingly great if you give it time. Wishing you all the best.
Always great videos and really informative.
Thank you very much for watching🙏🏽

New subscriber here from Fiji🇫🇯. Love you video and your vibe. I could tell you guyz are wonderful people❤
Thank you so much 🩷 We appreciate your kindness so much!
Thank you. I was considering ECE teacher job. Im a primary teacher and ECE is the shortage 30$ per hour. Glad to hear one can take buses and not need a car in the beginning...I was thinking of getting a scooter.
Great career option! The ECE jobs pay well since it is in demand. Their ECE teachers are qualified so I think it’ll be worth finding out if being a primary school teacher will qualify you for the position. Having a scooter will be helpful - we really enjoy taking public transport. We only use our car over the weekend🙂
Thanks for the good video.
Thank you for your support, Mark. We appreciate it very much.
Hi guys, thank you. I am still busy with my documentation preparation as I am in the medical field and its quite extensive but seeing your videos inspires and helps me to persevere. Could you guys perhaps advise on the route of your visa options and accreditors employers if possible. Thank you. God Bless
A reasonable salary for NZ depends where you live. Auckland is our most expensive city to live in, then Wellington. Smaller cities and the South Island (even the cities, like Christchurch) are much cheaper, and therefore you can earn less, and live well.
Always informative videos, I'm in New Zealand 2 months now on AEWV and following your channel, as you mentioned your daughter's future, can you elaborate on what you think of applying for residency and maybe give more info on what you think of the 6 point system, it seems difficult to get even being a qualified artisan in my case, to leave everything in SA and then struggling to buy property here if not a resident?
Hi guys! Thanks for your videos. Have you made a video for the community advising how we can tackle the job search especially if our professions are on the skills shortage list?
Hi there. No we don’t have a video dedicated to the job market but we have mentioned that we advise you apply directly to potential employers or look for jobs on seek.co.nz
Hi guys , your videos are so informative, thank you so much ... Please can you guys do a video on airport luggage restrictions, what items you guys suggest one should really pack , sentiment items etc 🙏
Hi there. Thank you for watching 🙂 the luggage restrictions will depend on the airline. Sentimental items such as photos, baby books etc. anything that have any sentimental value attached to it.
Very informative, Thank you. I was actually laughing how you repeated "Working" multiple times... Since that is somethine we don't know much about in South Africa. Here, as you obviously know, is you rather ask, "what IS working?" 🤣
😂😂thank you for watching, also something new for us but we are thankful.
Love your guys channel! You seem like an awesome family.
How do you guys find the wages in New Zealand compared to South Africa?
I'm from Canada and lived in NZ for a year in 2015/2016. Absolutely incredible place. The cost of living was some what comparable. Some things were less some things were more. Housing was definitely more expensive for what you got. But than you need to take into consideration the much better weather 😂.
I was earning 55% of my normal take home in the same profession I had in Canada and that was the biggest downside to me. Money isn't everything but every little bit helps in todays world for sure !
Lovely video keep up the good work, please could you share your experience on the NZ Health care system , how does it work if your on a work permit and also are there associated cost ? What to expect ? Thank you in advance
Thank you so much, have a look at our other videos or more detail. We will dig deeper in the current year after our daughter and my wife visited the doctor and emergency rooms respectively for treatment and we have more info.
I enjoy you videos a lot! been watching whilst doing chores. It would be nice if you guys could improve on sound the volume is a bit very low.😇
I working on it! Thank you for watching😃
Hi thanks for the info, I wanted to know on 100k what's the tax bracket you would fall under and in terms of lifestyle what would 100k NZ be similar to in a job in South Africa say in Bloemfontein as a direct comparison, in rand value .
Their is a sliding scale but got 100k you looking at around 28 percent tax. I speak under correction. I’m rant terms you should be earning around 1.1M per annum. Thanks for watching
Hi Guys, thank you for these informative videos. They're a big help. We recently made the move from SA Jhb to Cyprus with out family of 4 - two little ones of 4 and 6 years old. We've decided that this isn't our final destination, more of a short term move for now.
You guys have a little baby but you may have some sort of idea about the schooling system etc there. If you could share some info on that please, would be greatly appreciated. Also did you join any support groups either on whatsapp or Facebook etc Saffas in New Zealand etc that you can share please?
Hi Natalie. Cyprus sounds amazing! But we understand that it’s only a short term move. :)
Admittedly, we don’t know much about the school system at all. Our daughter is 2 so we’re more familiar with the daycare centre system. We actually haven’t joined any Facebook groups as we don’t have Facebook. There are some lovely SA ladies (moms) on TikTok sharing their experiences in NZ as well. Will list a few
Tiktok accounts: Lucy Jivan @lucreziajivan, @saffa_new_zealand, Anriette @saffa_in_new_zealand
Our school system was originally based on the British system. It is still similar (our Levels 1 and 2 NCEA is like O Levels and our Levels 3 and 4 (Scholarship) is like A levels. Regarding state schools, they are fine in NZ, but the higher decile rating the better education you will get (so the better suburbs will have better schools). Private schools cater for about 6-10% of NZ, and some of those provide Cambridge or IB. They tend to get better academic results, alongside our best state schools, particularly our single sex high schools and our top co-ed schools. In Auckland, they tend to be on the North Shore.
People must stop saying that they moved to give their children a better future. They became who they are in South Africa. If they had a discussion with the children and the children said let's go then it's okay
Imagine asking a 20 month old if they see a future for themselves in SA. We do what we feel is best for them until they are of age. Thanks for watching
How is the tax in New Zealand, am looking at moving but I would like to know more about tax
They also have a progressive tax system similar to SA. I would say brackets are also very similar.
