SPICY NOODLE CHALLENGE | COUPLES EDITION
my parents and larger families all arrived in early 1950's they managed and didnt spend time moaning about time zones (???? ) trips home ( they first went back after 25 years) or the weather (seriously?) unless you enjoy misery pack up and go back then because you wont ever be happy here
Wake up - This is not the 1950’s anymore. People speak their minds and have their own opinions. We do and say what we want. Thanks for watching. 😊
I’ve told people time and time again: Make sure you have a job lined up before moving to NZ and make sure you do your homework.
So true, unfortunately you never get the full Picture until you are actually here, amazing place though and always important to see things in perspective and realise that no place is perfect. Thanks for watching.
Ow die set🤣🤣
Die zet
Miela miels🤣🤣
Congrats enjoy kiwi fruit
Such petty “problems” to be honest… Seems you guys have forgotten all SA problems and why you left South Africa in the first place.. I suspect you guys won’t last long in NZ.. 😆
We suspect you didn’t watch until the end, Ed 😉. We’re enjoying the journey but it’s not always perfect.
I returned after 4yrs because The Cape town soil was calling my name every day. It was easy to resettle and to build wealth ... retired now ❤🤔
Thanks for the video!! Please let me know which Immigration Agency you used?
Hi Elizna. We didn’t use an agent 😀 we did the process ourselves.
is it 100K gross?
In this instance yes but if you can do net all the better for you haha. Thanks for watching
How is the tax in New Zealand, am looking at moving but I would like to know more about tax
They also have a progressive tax system similar to SA. I would say brackets are also very similar.
Glad to see you guys again 😊 People really should do more research in general 👍
Absolutely, including us haha. Thank you so much for watching.
Hi did u have to write any exams to start working.
No not at all. A few assessments for the visa but that was about it.
This video boost me again, i am busy looking a position in New Zealand bz i have to immigrate to New Zealand. Thank you guys
We are so happy our videos are helpful, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Thank you for watching
Good evening, another great video-thank you! I am not sure if you are able to provide information about schools in Auckland. We have a 10 year old daughter and we would love to place her in a good school with a good structure/no bullying and where she will thrive academically Preferably a school for boys and girls. Thank you
Thank you so much for watching. Schools are all over the place here, of course the curriculum is different and we personally feel the system is abit too relaxed with not sufficient focus on math and science with more focus on the child. Public school is free and they only ask for a small donation. If academic excellence is the focus you may need to look at private schools.
SA government is pushing all our people out of South Africa 😢😢😢 and the rasist EFF is not helping our cause to build SA and to keep our people home 😢😢😢
Very informative 👏
Thanks for watching
Hi Thank you for making yourselves so vulnerable and transparent, it is so enlightening when people are real.
We are so glad it comes across that way, thank you for taking your time to watch.
I can see a shift in your energy compared to your previous videos, and it seems like the reality of living in New Zealand is starting to set in. I am currently in New Zealand, exploring the possibility of moving here, but not committed yet. Before coming, everyone painted New Zealand as a perfect paradise. However, the reality is quite different. The people here are not particularly friendly, often coming across as stuck-up, and there's a lack of helpfulness. Companies are biased, frequently overlooking applications unless you have connections within the company. You always hear that New Zealanders get first preference, but many locals seem reluctant to work. The cost of living, including housing, food, and rentals, is unbelievably high, especially with the country currently in a recession. Companies expect you to start at the lowest level, regardless of your previous management experience. Many others portray an idealized version of life here just for social media likes, but you guys are keeping it real and honest. Good job, and I completely agree with your perspective after experiencing it myself.
Couldn’t have summed it up any better ourselves, you make some really good points and we can completely relate. At the end of the day we always remind ourselves that we are very blessed to be able gain this experience and wherever we may end up it would serve us well. Thanks so much for watching.
Hey Murray, thanks for sharing your experience with us. Great to know that it does get easier. Your story is really quite encouraging and glad to hear you have settled so well. I guess it all depends on your situation, ours is very specific to our situation and perhaps not a reflection on all those coming after us. Thanks for watching, cheers.
@Murray-xx3fdhey man .where you based?
Thanks so much for your honesty! Timezones and distance are hard definitely and 4 and a bit years later I can't say it gets much easier unfortunately. Best advice is have a standing WhatsApp video call or zoom setup on even a weekly basis with close family back home 😊 that's how we manage it currently 🤗
That’s great advice, it’s been a challenge since day one but slowly getting there. Thank you so much for watching.
I recently moved to Denmark, the weather is still good but I am aware that sun is very shy to come out. Housing all over and the standard of living has become a challenge, well nothing compared to South Africa as it is still fairly reasonable that side.
Denmark sounds amazing! Glad that you are thriving, amazing to see our people all move the world. Thank you so much for watching
Good morning from Cape Town. Thanks for your content. My wife and I both have been offered a health care post. It will be a culture shock but we doing the move for our little one. You've helped us tremendously with the info. Thank you once again
Hey Ryan, great to hear your process is progressing well. All the best with the big decisions ahead, feel free to reach out if we can offer any assistance. Thanks for watching😀
Always followed your vids, fellow ,🇿🇦 I keep on saying the same thing, plus the videos we watched to amp us up about this place were recorded on that one or two sunny days, lol.
Haha that is so accurate 😝 thank you so much for watching
we have moved to christchurch in jan. i completely agree! the time zones are insane.
It’s a massive move but well worth it in the end, that’s what we hope anyway haha. All the best and thank you for watching
unrelated comment, you guys are so beautiful.
We appreciate it so so much
Salt or butter
Amazing 🎉Congratulations Fam.
You will soon regret it go back home ❤❤❤
No good idea iwestem World not so great ❤
As an AucklanderI ALWAYS lock my car!!! And my house.
Quick question, how did you go about landing a job in NZ that fast?
Hi there, I think my field has quite a bit of demand. Very fortunate to have found a good job, my wife has had a harder time as a PhD qualified lecturer.
Very good pricing, I would have bought broccoli, cauliflower and leafy greens like silverbeet and cabbage. But all in all very good. I buy up large at pak n save once a fortnight too, but usually spend a bit more on fresh vegetables that run out. If you don’t drink much milk buy some milk powder. Made up you wouldn’t know the difference from fresh milk.
How about the locals are they racist to Blacks? I heard the local Maoris don't like whites?
How can I contact you? Please I need your help.
Sure. I’m on Instagram.
Hey there from Gloomy Cape town . My wife and I are both radiographers(medical imaging technologists ) another Radiography branch similar to nuclear med ... and have both been approached by recruiters to go work in new zealand. My question is . .what should we negotiate our hourly rate to. Round about 45 to 50 dollars an hour or more. To be able to live comfortably... We currently in the talking faze with the recruiter.
Oh forgot to add. We have a 7month old girl aswell
Hi Ryan. That’s fantastic. Yes that sounds liveable - if you’re both working. Consider the other living expenses as well - particularly daycare. You can watch our expenses video to gauge some costs. But, it should be sufficient. All the best with your application!
@@Dunnstakenz thanks so much for the info. Really helping us navigate this huge decision .
congratulations guys! we are also about to start our process for the residency! please share the service provider and the english test? please
Hi Thato. All the best. We did the IELTS English test. The service provider’s name is: Saartjie Limited. This was for new police clearance documents.
@@Dunnstakenz Thank you so much for your response, how did you go about writing the test? I've googled but it takes me to so many sites!
Thank you for the updates. We are working on ours. These tips are important
Thank you Kay! All the best.
How did you go about finding a job. We decided on this move 6 April this year, but we do not want to make use of LIA and not sure how to go about finding the correct job.
Hi Desire. What is LIA? Zane found his job on the company website and applied directly. I only managed to find a job when we arrived.
Afternoon here in SA, and probably evening the in NZ, just want to find out the nitty gritty of applying for a working VISA, Jobs in finance sector e.g. banks, and health sector, wife is a professional nurse. etc, and stay well family.
Hey David, visit our channel. We have made quite a few videos on the process all the best with everything
Many thanks Family, I am on the videos, and they are really well detailed, hope to get to that soon. All the best.
How was the conversion from SA to NZ. We have 4 kids, not sure how they will adapt
It definitely takes a while but well worth it depending on your reason for moving. Kids are very resilient and will adapt faster than you in most cases haha. All the best!
Hi Mishka. Did you graduate in 2015 @ Unisa with your PhD? I remember someone like you🤦♀️
Hi Steven. I graduated from the University of the Free State 😆
Thanks guys for the lovely video and also for answering one of my questions , really appreciate it ❤
That seems reasonable but I would have included more treats
Good day Zane & Mishka, we are really enjoying your content and we are actively starting our process... we just put our our home on the Market 😮 Can you please do a Video on Medical Aid and if you have a Chronic Illness what your options are ( I am diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis) and also Schooling, we have 2 Teenagers (14 & 15).. We have, they are really lovely. Hope you are having a great visit here.
This really helps.. I'm looking to also move and it'll just be my son and I. Kinda gives some perspective on what to expect. Insightful! ❤ Thank you
So helpful and informative
I love your video..I am from SA on a 2 month holiday. I just love all the outdoor entertainment..the waterfalls, the lakes, jetsboat., the hot pools. So much to see and enjoy...I love NZ. D
Try inside Africa biggest SA shop in NZ 3 locations in Auckland and also try food culture they have a few locations its also a South African store. You can find braai meat biltong and any SA groceries you are missing from SA not cheap but you can treat yourself every once in a while
Thank you so much
You could live off 1 salary but depends on your lifestyle my dads salary is in the highest bracket at 180 to 200k don't know his exact earning and my mom is a stay at home mom we have been here 6 years and we bought a farm in oxford Canterbury but I do agree extra income from 2 people working helps even on the highest salary it's tough sometimes when you consider buying a house or a farm a food bills are crazy.
Why are SA moving here, sure you'll get paid better in Europe or somewhere else, and it'll be less expensive
We love it here, thanks for watching
Hi Dunn's , it was so nice to hear you guys are from Bloem. Dis ook my geboorte plek. Love your channel. X
