    To answer a few of your questions... This song is actually two parts. The first part, 'Holy Wars...' is about that, holy wars. The second part of the song comes in after the tempo slows. That is 'The Punishment Due', which is about the comic book figure, 'The Punisher.' The album Rust in Peace was released in 1990. The Gulf War began in 1991. I remember staying up late watching live video in Bagdad on CNN. Yes, they are wearing bullet belts, which is a staple in Thrash metal. Dave Mustaine is the singer. His singing style can be difficult to understand at times. I suggest you watch a regular Megadeth video first then go back and watched a lyric video second so reading the words won't take away from the song. Lastly, 'Hair Metal' aka 'Glam Metal' is a different style of metal. Yes, both artist generally have long hair, but so to do Rock and Hard Rock bands. Hair Metal is usually played at a slower tempo, though they still use heavy distorted guitars. They wear makeup, lots of makeup, spandex and or leather. They even wear women's style boots with a high thin heel. A few Hair metal bands include Mötley Crüe, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Poison, Skid Row and Warrant.

    You opened the Pandora box for us Metalheads, and now we will drown you in comments making suggestions about our favourite bands. Gonna throw mine here and recommend you to react to 'PanterA - Heresy' (live 1990 at Foundations Forum), if you don't know the band you'll be surprised how powerful they were.
    More nice bands to react to: Sepultura / Lamb Of God / Sylosis / Machine Head / SepticFlesh / In Mourning / MudVayne / Nine Inch Nails / Annihilator / Textures / Animals As Leaders / Opeth / Mastodon

    Nice thing about art...it is in the eye of the beholder. Music is art, and I personally think "hair" bands, 80's music, is very very good (and this song is a masterpiece). I just came across this while cruising utube. You are different than other personalities who do this, and that makes it interesting.

      Glad you liked it. Thrash metal like Megadeth and then eventually grunge rock in the early 90s are actually what killed off hair bands/glam metal.

    "It reminds me that not everything from the 80s was bad"... you mean "it reminds me how much better 80s music was not only in more mainstream pop genres but also in heavy rock and metal genres". No problem I corrected that line of thought for you 👍

      @@extremelywhitegirl2543 Do you know Michael Mcdonald? You would probably like his music if you like Phil collins. Michael McDonald has an unbelievable voice. Kenny loggins. Christopher cross. Earth, wind and fire. Fleetwood mac... come on those are just a few and they are some of the best artists of all time. I'm 21 and even I keep discovering 80s music that are all time greats, the 80s are jam packed with songs you probably never heard and would love. You just have to research and find them.

      Kenny Loggins, yes. I do like him. Fleetwood Mac is good too, although I associate them more with the 70s. Same with Earth, Wind, and Fire.
      Haven't heard of the other dudes.

    Oh my god did you just call Megadeth a hair band? If you plan to do another reaction of them don’t ever say that again please 😅 they’re a Thrash/Speed metal band. Hair bands didn’t do metal, they mostly sing about simple stuff, nothing political and their sound is much less heavy, they were more into looks than actual music.

      Yeah... not a hair band, most rock oriented bands from this era had long hair, then grunge took off and thing began to change in terms of appearance. As an example, listen to/watch Cherry Pie by Warrant, then listen to/watch this.... both songs came out in 1990.

    Epic song but mixed up garbled reaction and commentary. This lady is trapped in the cliche what the 80s were about whiteout actually having first hand knowledge or info from reliable sources. Calling Megadeth a hair band sums up everything bad about this reaction. Gave it thumbs up for the song only.

    • @extremelywhitegirl2543
      @extremelywhitegirl2543  2 года назад +1

      I grew up in the 80s...there are certain sounds that just go with it (depending on genre).
      Also, I was just mentioning that their hair looks like a hair band.
      Yeah...the garbled commentary...if I'm not too much into what I'm hearing, I try to pick out things I DO like. But my nerves get in the way.
      Anyway, thanks for watching and giving me an honest critique. 😏
