That country shit may make her more money, but it is far from a challenge for her voice. This was recorded 11 years ago in 07. Who's still listening to great rock music in 2019? I know I am. This AIC cover with the incomparable Nancy Wilson and Gretchen is fabulous, as always! At 01:16, you see a legend from Heart walk onto the stage.......Mrs. Nancy Wilson. Gretchen doing Ann justice here.
Sorry, but that is an option. There were many unique and some very powerful female voices that came during the Rock eras. The best you'd ever get a majority to agree on, is a top 10 in a random order. Personally, Ann would rate high on my list. But I doubt I could ever decide on a defacto best.
The 'tone' your talking about is just massive distortion with humbucking guitar pickups. In my opinion the original is much better tonally using a single coil Stat because you can actually hear most of the individual notes and harmonics. This sounds pretty muddy in comparison.
Bogner amps make miracles, funny thing is when you ear a monster tone , and then you look for the isolated guitar track is usually almost unbearable and harsh sounding, but wonderful in the mix. Same thing for the Marshall jubilee , which Slash uses , I love his tone but if you try to listen to the guitar alone you wouldn't believe it is the same sound
Wow, I’ve never heard anyone cover this song so well! Her voice is spot on! Ann Wilson has an amazing voice… it’s difficult to emulate. She has Power, control, dynamic range, and is pitch perfect. Great job.
Lots of good things to say about Anne's vocals, but I keep coming back to her pitch. Especially considering she could sing dead on, live, with a full band blasting away behind her. Laser pitch. Not just the razor highs, but all the lows, too. Gretchen did her justice.

Great cover. Best I've heard. Gretchen Wilson should do a crossover to rock.
Holy crap. There was some serious talent on that stage. Killer performance. BRAVO
Gretchen Wilson is absolutely on top of her game here, she's a awesome singer always have loved her ... she actually kinda a outlaw in Country Music ... Go Figure ...😊
May 2023 and still loving this
this woman rocks the shit out of this song, wow wow fucking wow
This was recorded 11 years ago in 07. Who's still listening to great rock music in 2019? I know I am. This AIC cover with the incomparable Nancy Wilson and Gretchen is fabulous, as always!
At 01:16, you see a legend from Heart walk onto the stage.......Mrs. Nancy Wilson. Gretchen doing Ann justice here.
NM156 it is good, strike that, great. In many ways better than the original! Gretchen's rock and pop covers are awesome.
She fucking kicks ass on this
Can someone post the video of Rooster from this show?
Jerry's tone makes my arm hair stand
Here she is doing it in 2019 - ruclips.net/video/RnQwO7kwn4A-/видео.html it's not fabulous.
Still listening : januari 2024,anyone else here?
Just love it
This version never gets old!!
I wonder how many are totally shocked that a country singer could absolutely nail this awesome rock song!!!! LOVE IT!!
She did an awesome job ......great voice work
Mad Painter I'm absolutely shocked.
That was bad asssss!!
Mad Painter ME..........totally blown away
desertsun100 i got to see Gretchen do it! bitch nailed it and can fucking sing!
My gosh, if I closed my eyes I'd swear its Ann Wilson singing. That is truly a feat. Ann has, argualby, the best female voice in R&R.
I’d say she does, she looks and sounds beautiful
No argument to be made. Ann fucking RULES!!!
Yea she does sound a lot like Ann
Sorry, but that is an option. There were many unique and some very powerful female voices that came during the Rock eras. The best you'd ever get a majority to agree on, is a top 10 in a random order.
Personally, Ann would rate high on my list. But I doubt I could ever decide on a defacto best.
@@lennychorn147 Lzzy Hale? Joanne Shaw Taylor (Voice AND Guitar)?
Love Jerry
Gretchen Absolutely Rocks!!
Wow!! She really nailed it !!!
Wow, girl's got righteous pipes!
Anne would be proud
jerry's tone is on fricken point
Isnt it always?
+Angel SkaiXo Thought EXACTLY the same thing My Brotha!!!!
The 'tone' your talking about is just massive distortion with humbucking guitar pickups. In my opinion the original is much better tonally using a single coil Stat because you can actually hear most of the individual notes and harmonics. This sounds pretty muddy in comparison.
So you're judging the guitar tone based on a low resolution, highly compressed version of the song? Were you there at this show?
Bogner amps make miracles, funny thing is when you ear a monster tone , and then you look for the isolated guitar track is usually almost unbearable and harsh sounding, but wonderful in the mix. Same thing for the Marshall jubilee , which Slash uses , I love his tone but if you try to listen to the guitar alone you wouldn't believe it is the same sound
As a big AIC and Heart fan, I'm embarrassed that I'm just finding this. I can't stop listening to it.
@@MarkTubeGGretchen does a great job covering this song but I have to admit there is no replacement for Nancy's sister Ann Wilson she is the best female vocalist in the world ❤❤❤
Gretchen absolutely nailed it! Impressive to say the least, plus she's smokin' hot.
This is one of the greatest performances I've ever seen
Thats great. Thanks

Best cover of this song ever
I was a kid when this came out in 77, and this woman nails it.
pretty sure that's one of the best cover songs I've ever heard.
Untill you hear Heart cover Led Zep!! :) but I hear ya what u r saying...
It was good until she forgot the lines you mean (Heart covering Led Zep)
should sound good heart are her aunts
You know that never occurred to me until I read your comment. Interesting
You want a Zeppelin cover...feast your ears! ruclips.net/video/xH-_9cwdLug/видео.html
Best cover of any song I've ever heard. Amazing vocal performance.
Man she kills it! Never knew she could sing like that. Arguably one of the best covers ever!
Absolute brilliance. Hands down one of the greatest covers of all time.
The greatest cover, bar none.
Brian Buchanan watch Heart cover Stairway to Heaven and then think bar none!
@@GreybeardBiker1 yeah I’m gunna have to disagree. You should watch Ann and Nancy cover Stairway by Zeppelin. It is the most beautiful cover ever made
@@stephaniebuechter5029 And I'm going to have to disagree with all of you. Johnny Cash-Hurt. The original artist admits ( Trent Reznor ) admits his version was better
WOW! They did BARRACUDA total rock justice!!!
That's how you cover a fucking killer jam WOW.🤘❤️🤪🇺🇸👍👊💪
