Thank you so much but in rule 3: minutes 4:10 we are class 3 if third molar no extract. Now the third molar right side extract no replace .why it became class 2 mod 1? it still class 3? right please help me clearly
I will make them available soon. But I will be uploading a blog on Kennedy's Classification on my Website really soon. Make sure to check it out. studywiththedentist.com . Thank you
It is only known by Kennedy's classification of partially edentulous archs, after the name of the scientist, in all the authentic books. There may, however, be a variation of this name, e.g classification of partial dentures etc.
Hey great explanation. I’m a little confused on the class 1 modification 1 at the end of the video. I know class 3 and modification 3 you did count other identical posterior side but for class 1 modification 1 I was thinking it would be class 1 modification 2 because the posterior and anterior teeth are missing. Is it due to the fact no teeth are there so you can’t count them as empty ?? Where am I going wrong here ?
Class I is bilateral edentate area located behind the remaining natural teeth. So both the edentate areas (one on the left side of the arch and one on the right) will be included in the classification and any additional edentate area will be considered as modifications. While for class III, unilateral edentate area with natural teeth anterior and posterior to it. So the area can be on either side of the arch with natural teeth anterior and posterior, then it will be considered as class III. While any other additional edentate area will be considered as modifications. I would recommend you watch the classification part again, note the statements down along with the drawings, then go on towards that question, it will be much easier for you to understand.
The example that you gave will be class II mod 1. Since the most posterior area determines the classification (which in this case is the 47, 48 area) and the rest become modifications. Class II mod 2 will just be the same thing with another additional edentulous area.
I love you dude you explain it much better than my teacher in the university .

in rule 3: minutes 4:10 we are class 3 if third molar no extract. Now the third molar right side extract no replace .why it became class 2 mod 1? it still class 3? right please help me clearly
if 3rd molar is not to be replaced and not to be used as an abutment then it is not considered in the classification.
