I had a pneumonia virus this winter as well. Felt briefly feverish Monday morning. Slight temperature, kind of miserable -- but by Monday evening it had passed.
Tuesday night I went to bed and I could tell I was getting a serious fever. Very hot, vomiting, shivering, chattering teeth. When my temperature hit 40C my wife wanted me to go to the hospital. I refused. I thought it would pass.
By the morning, it was 41C and she'd called an ambulance. They immediately rushed me to hospital. Immediate IV antibiotics and oxygen, and I was on the corridor for 24 hours, waiting for a bed on the ward.
After 20 hours on the Emergency ward, they decided I needed to move to Respiratory. So off I went immediately, and spent another 24 hours on the corridor in Respiratory, before they eventually found me a bed.
Despite the difficulties and the pressure on the system, the quality of care that I got was outstanding and the same thing was true of the attitudes of the staff. All the money in the world couldn't buy you nursing staff with a better attitude than the people working at the Royal in Liverpool. I can't thank them enough.

      Dear Dr. Campbell,
I hope that you feel better! I watched you for years during the pandemic! You were the only voice of reason around that people who were understandably scared, could
listen to for some comfort and advice!
Actually, I never did get the COVID shot, because I’ve had some severe anaphylactic reactions
to penicillin and sulfa. Even though those drugs are not related to the COVID shots, I think that based on my past experiences, I probably would be one of the people who would have an adverse reaction! I took a lot of Vitamin D-I’ve had it tested by my holistic MD and my levels are good, plus I take Zinc and many other supplements, such as Turmeric,( with a little added pepper to make it more absorbable) and Organic Black Elderberry syrup ( which is quite popular and helps I’ve found) along with my other usual vitamins- multi, C, B-Complex, Calcium and Magnesium, E, probiotics, iodine tincture, and other herbal tinctures like ashwaganda, echinacea, something called lymphatics for my lymph glands, and others. Actually I never got COVID thankfully! Lately, I’ve had a cold that has kept dragging on for weeks, so I started being more diligent about taking my vitamins and it’s improving! Sometimes, I skip doses of my vitamins, and I’ve found that it made me more susceptable to illness! Also, I am vegetarian- actually pesco-vegetarian, because I do eat some wild salmon, cod, and organic eggs, as well as everything else organic and gluten free. I think we have much more of a problem with gluten in the US, because our wheat is so much different than say, Italy’s wheat, and they
      spray glyphosate on everything here.
Also, I was taking a good mushroom
formula that was discontinued and I need to find another one, because many types of organic mushrooms can contribute to our health, as well as the organic fruits and vegetables! Again, I hope that you feel better soon!
      Sue Schott

Dr. John, it’s wonderful that you stayed hydrated and warm, and that you avoided antipyretics to allow your symptoms to express themselves. I believe the key to healing is encouraging the body to heal itself rather than suppressing symptoms with allopathic medications. Instead of pushing the illness deeper, symptoms serve as a communication system from the body and we must listen.

John is a doctor, a real doctor, he actually has a PhD. There is no career path other than medical, in which a person gets to call themselves Dr without having made a significant and unique research contribution to advance their field of study. It doesn't mater how long their degree or or how much on the job training they get post graduation, they don't call themselves Dr unless they have earned it. The exception is medical doctors and dentists and that's based on tradition not their actual contribution or achievement.

I had a Vax and 2 boosters. After 1st booster I got sciatica, a swollen Achilles’ tendon, and after my 2nd booster I got sciatica again
And a fast beating heart that I thought I might have a heart attack, but took it easy for a long time.
I also had two places on my back that wouldn’t heal. I thought they were cancer spots and found out later they were, and I got them cut out. But what I did was for the winter of ‘22-‘23, I drank apple cider vinegar with honey and cayenne in it made like a tea.
I drank a coffee cups worth every day for at least 6 months, maybe longer. I finally got Covid in Jan 2024. Not bad though.
I also started my regime of sit-ups and push-ups and stretching. I have not been sick since and feel I’m cleared out of the bad stuff.
I think apple cider vinegar and cayenne is a miracle medication. I also basically don’t eat sugar and try to eat local grown meat and
Try to eat organic vegetables. These are things we can do to help ourselves be healthy. As we all should know, a healthy body and mind will keep your immune system strong and able to battle pretty much anything, even cancer. Of course no more shots of any kind for me.

I have often noticed that the inflammatory response to vaccination can temporarily aggravate many arthritic conditions and areas of inflammation. Sciatica is most likely due to irritation of of the nerve by mechanical impingement which then gets worsened by the generalized immune reaction to a vaccine or virus (cold for example).

My manager got shingles from her vaccine booster in November 22, then ended up with Addisons after the next booster the following spring.

Always educational as usual! I’ve never been in the medical field, but John has opened up my eyes and made it interesting! It’s made me aware of my body which I’ve taken for granted all my life, but lately developed an understanding of its function and reaction to various illnesses and the cures. And especially the treatments that are worse than the illnesses i.e. from “pill-pushers” like the advertisements on American television, where the pills take away the symptoms but never cure the underlying illness.
    A huge thank you Dr.Campbell! 😊

    • @COIcultist
      @COIcultist 14 дней назад +7

Yes, you don't get a cold for 4 weeks, but I had something for 5 or 6 weeks that was like a bad cold but wasn't. Solid crystals up my nose, then after a few days needing to wash or wipe my face instantly upon waking as I had crystals sticking my eyelashes together. Those symptoms reduced and then increased over several days in waves. Somehow I forgot about the evil headache I was having. Then it just went, never had anything like that before.

    • @bettybarrett323

Just saw Dr. last evening, resorted to z-pack and steroids to help kick a three week run of this miserable stuff. Hit it with everything I had and it just kept coming back.
Fevers, wracking bouts of clearing coughing, progression of mucus color, awful headaches, loss of appetite, broken sleep, fatigue that had me napping at the drop of a hat, stuffy nose, sore throat ( not for long)...I increased water, added zinc and C, protein collagen drink, took NAC, increased Vit D intake and used herb teas for help in thinning mucus even more. When it was clear my efforts were not enough I had to get some additional help. I was tested for flu and covid, both negative, chest congestion but no pneumonia, pretty much what you pointed out, a persistent, long lasting virus. I have lung problems and getting the extra help to kick the virus probably prevented a much worse outcome.
Thanks for sharing your experience and being so thorough in your description. Our entire family has been battling viruses off and on since December. Keep feeling better John.

My husband and my 5 year old daughter had all these symptoms including low fever never above 101.2 but for them the worst symptom was a debilitating headache. And I thought I got lucky and managed to avoid it but of course not. A fever of 102 suddenly hit me last night and that was with Tylenol. Which I probably shouldn’t have been taking but my body was hurting soooo bad
