Hi Ryan, thank you so much for all your videos! I am preparing for my finals and I binge watched all your videos. Could you please tell me what type of connector you'd use for a high vaulted palate, please? Also if there is a large mandibular torus and surgery is not possible, would you opt for a buccal bar as the major connector? Thank you! :)
Hi there! You're very welcome, I hope you are finding the videos helpful. And these are great questions! A high vault by itself may not be an indication to choose one design over another (in my personal opinion), but if there were a deep palatal vault with something like a pseudo-cleft then I might opt for a horseshoe design to avoid contacting this area where it may be difficult to get good adaptation (but this would be more of a concern with a complete denture anyway). And you are exactly right, if there were large tori that inhibited the placement of a lingual bar or even lingual plate (and surgery was not an option) then I would opt for a buccal bar.
Dr Ryan .. in dentin book it mentioned that Anterior posterior palatal strap is the most rigid!!!! So which one is correct as this question came a lot in board exam..
Hi Ryan! Thanks for another amazing video! Was wondering, in the beading slide, does that follow the 90 degree angle rule since it looks slanted across the midline? Thanks!
