    It's interesting how these days especially amongst the youth adverbs actually can be applied to proper nouns.
    "She's very...Karen"
    Meaning she has the traits of an annoying and entitled woman. I feel like most young people would get this instantly but even when I said this to my mom, she was able to infer what I meant! 😀I wonder if Korean has any of these weird little cultural expressions too! I love language!!

    Hi Billy, is there a difference in meaning or nuance when you attach 히 or 게 to a verb like 편히 and 편하게? For example: 편히 쉬세요 and 편하게 쉬세요.

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  3 года назад +1

      I talk about that in this live stream, but you have to memorize whichever one is used. In some cases both are okay, but in many cases only one or the other is used.

    Billy, cultural question: I assume you would only say 많이 파세요! to the actual (mom & pop) store owner and not a clerk simply working there. Unless the sales clerk at 7-11 is working off commission, why would they want to have to do the extra work?

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  3 года назад +1

      Correct. Since it means "sell a lot" you'd use it in situations where that would make sense like toward actual store owners. The 7-11 part-time employee won't care and will probably think you don't actually know much Korean :-P

    you said 아직 is a negative adverb that should be used with negative sentences but can't we say 아직 배우고 있어요 "i am still learning"?

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  3 года назад

      I don't think I said it can't be used with non-native sentences? Just that it also can be used with negative sentences to mean "yet." With non-native sentences it means "still."

  • @MojaveHigh
    @MojaveHigh 4 года назад

    아직 두시예요 isn't that a positive sentence even though you said it needs to be used with negative sentences

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  4 года назад +2

      When used with negative sentences it usually translates as "yet." When used with a positive sentence it usually translates as "still."
