You was asking about those holes on the bottom or the bumper, my guess would be that they are for the factory stock bumper jack.
Those loop holes on the bottom are for small bumperettes, 70 1/2 Z28s came with them. I like the look with them as well, I don’t think they were offered in 71.
Correct,had them on mine
Yes, the bumperettes are on ‘71 Z28s, too.
Yes the tabs with holes are for bumperettes, there will be tabs on the front bumper too on none RS models. The trunk seal needs to be glued in the channel if you don't... well you'll find out. Also the torque rods should have been installed when your body guy was pre-fitting the deck lid. You should install these right away...I've never not scratched something when putting them in...they're a bitch to do gently.
Cliff Wright rods were in during pre fit, took them out as they couldn’t hold the trunk up. Threw those ones away and got new ones.
I bought the exact same bumper and I noticed that there were some waves in the top. So it needs minor straightening. It's only on one side but to correct it needs to be replated. I was also going to weld the studs/brackets to the bumper when I did that and make a smooth bumper and have the whole thing replated in nickel. Same for the front.
Car looking even more amazing w each upload
Love dropping into your videos....the vibe of your channel is very cool! The Camaro is going to be killer!!
Nickel plating would look very good.
Weatherstrip adhesive is a must on the decklid ws channel. Did mine in about 15 mins, easy to do. I used the 3M brand.
Now you should weld the brackets to the bumper, weld the bolt holes in the bumper shut and have the bumper rechromed.
Just my opinion you should’ve blacked out the tail light panel. Gives an accent to the lights and bumper. May not be something you like. Just my two cents
Just FYI. They sell inner rubber corner piece ends, that helps keeping the paint intact later on when actually drive the car, just encase you bump something. They where originally used in the factory. NPD and Classic Camaro Central Sell them. Idk if you know this. {PART NUMBER: BUM-542 Camaro Central}
Anthony Paul I ordered some awhile ago, still waiting
I was hoping there would be a video today!
Use the vinyl like they use when servicing cars to protect paint.
CamaroMan2018SSDanny have to let the paint breathe as long as possible
I was hoping you would have a video of a key lock install for the camaro trunk
I thought the loops an indentation were the rear jacking point.
I’m surprised you didn’t go with the Custom Works carbon fiber bumpers front and rear
Great job. Love the car brother. Dud you end up getting the front bumpers from the same manufacture .
Danny Oliveira Yes, they are from OER
If i remember correctly - Classic Industries has full sets of kits for 'every bolt and nut' required to rebuild/replace on our cars. I know ss396(dot)com has an AMK Master body kit as well. Beats having to go to the hardware store. Every bag is labeled for location usage. On a side note - I think your paint scheme with the mild amount of chrome accent will be nice. Maybe once we see the wheel choice - that opinion will change, and my OCD will kick in!
cypherl0k Yeah... those kits all have about 1/2 of what is needed. I have 3 different kits and still have to order missing bolts and screws. They chalk it up as each year has different things so they cover all the standard stuff.... which is BS
i love chrome bumpers !, ........ 74 Camaro had an anodized aluminum bumper , no comparison to a real chome bumper !
Chrome looks classic
Its for the stock bumper jack.
Your missing the rubber pieces that go on the ends of the bumper at the top between the bumper.and the body
Bumperettes :) You're building my childhood dream car.
You forgot the bumper end gaskets.
z28chet didn’t forget them, just not using them currently
Tabs might be to mount bumperrettes.
Probably the holes are for a bumper jack
were your at id call into work and not stop working till it was done. Are you getting giddy yet?
Always excited
