In the Middle Ages fighting females were uncommon. Joan of Arc being a rare exception. But she was not the only woman to strap on armour and wield a sword. In this video we will travel back to the 14th century to meet a vengeful noblewoman who became a pirate and reigned down terror on the King of France. Welcome to Medieval Madness

This is a story that deserves to be adapted into a movie, as it sounds more epic than Joan of Arc’s - and unlike a Joan’s, it has somewhat of a happy ending. :)
I would love to see a movie about this.
Oh my God yes it does.
The story arc is right there. Boom. 🎉

Good for her! There comes a time when you have to quit taking and start dishing it out. It's always good to see a success story.
Its crazy how much Jeanne did, being a woman in those times was extremely limiting. BTW im watching the documentary on Magellan and DAMN! seeing Lucy Lawless in armor really did it for me.
Being anyone, anytime feels limiting but isn't. But it is indeed very impressive.
Does anyone else has this thought that what if some of these people that we're mindlessly watching videos about were actually our ancestors?
Grania [Grace] O'Malley is my ancestor.
What an inspiration! Thank you so much for this incredible video 👏
My favorite historian 🤗.. Keep up the great work my friend
. Keep history interesting & a bit odd 👍
Thank you for this informative and entertaining video
very interesting, thank you for dedicating a video to this :D
Are you going to do a video about Grace O’Malley, the Irish pirate queen?
She made it through the Black Death period too.
Kinda reminds me of the story of Olga of Kiev. 🤔
Another fantastic video, akways something new.
There was no such thing as a formal warship in that era. The most probable explanation is that merchant cog ships were converted for the purpose.
Fascinating!
Thank you for the story of my favorite pirate❤
A lady suggested her epic story should be a movie, maybe a miniseries for my taste but maybe there are movies and series ...
In French. 😊
Thanks!
Great vid
great channel
Thank you
Look up Nolwenn Leroy. That is the typical look of Breton people. Dark hair, blue-green eyes and pale skin because of the constant sea mist.
❤️👏
There is no images, paintings or paintings of Olivier the 4th, Jeannes husband. You are using images of her son, Olivier the 5th.

Perhaps this would be an even better channel without the music. Relax and trust your ample narrative ability around this interesting subject matter be enough to grab folks attention.
Why not "Well behaved badass warrior Women"?? 💁♂️
Nah
Images of ships from the 18th century. Hella lame….
Bravo. Excellent video. But *pretty please make an effort with French pronunciation.* It’s not hard (even Wikipedia has phonetic script) - “Jean” and “Jeanne” are _not_ pronounced the same, and definitely not “gene” - the former is _zhon_ and the latter is _zhanne_
Kudos however for correct pronunciation of “Les Halles”.
With respect, mispronunciation implies ignorance, and detracts from your credibility and is incredibly irritating for those of us who do speak French.
Oh puhlease, get over yourself. How good are you are pronouncing names that are truly foreign to you? It does not imply ignorance, it simply means he does not speak French, but he pronounced it perfectly find for and English speaker.
