I should ask: The headlight cap is isolating the lamp to outside? No air is circulating? If in 15 minutes the lamp get 110°C or more with fresh air to fan, in a single drive will burn...
Hi Osman Farooqi, The best H4 LED bulb of all i have tested so far is CREE XHP70, I am making a video for it, will post next week. so that you will get a clear idea about its performance.
I got one for about 2 years the fan just failed couple days ago and LED chips are now burnt. I had the same model. It is really bright, compairable to 55w HID that I previously had. The problem are 1: XHP Chips are huge, cut off shade cant really controll the light. Too much scattering. I have 2 other model, with Phillips ZES2 chips, though a bit dimmer but the light is more focus. 2: High beem position focus points are somehow focus lower than low beem. Though more light is sent upward but the hot spot is lower than low beem. Adjusting headlight assembly does not help. I believe the high beem LED chips possition are a bit off. 3 Fans are really noisy and in my case one failed and caused LED chips to melt.
Yes It is the best led with good light spread pattern i have tested, Still the high beam angle is not perfect as Halogen. It is better than other led bulb in the market.
No, My Advice is NOT USE HID (XENON) IN REFLECTOR HEADLIGHTS because the light from hid are produced by arc technology, a simple example is ARC WELDING, even though there is huge amount of light is produced while welding, but we cannot see distant objects clearly in that arc light, so to see the object clearly we need to control and focus the light. HID performs well in PROJECTOR only, Most of the aftermarket (NON BRANDED) HID do not have proper KELVIN ( color temperature ) which create a blue tint light, which is not good for visibility, So even in projector good quality HID should be used.
Great video. Very comprehensive. Have you by any chance tried the popular C6 LEDs for headlights? I just bought a pair of C6s for about $10, just so I could try LEDs for once. I was blown away. Granted, it doesn't have the same color temps as my Osram Nightbreakers, it still manages to offer superior brightness and beam width, and similar light throw. Perchance how big would an upgrade these Cree XHP50s offer over the C6 (which have Bridgelux COBs)?
For now my opinion is LED's are at 60 to 70% of Halogen (90/100)watts. Still LED need to get better in performance. Form opposite view (from other led headlights) we may think the LED are brighter beacuse it DAZZELS (Glare) us when we look at it, But from DRIVERS VIEW the LED lights are very week on road, especially on rainy days it is very very poor. It is due to its blue tint (it is above 6000 kelvin). Still you need to try it you can it is not a big deal, it is just a plug and play as regular halogen, but KEEP YOUR HALOGEN BULB AS SPARE ALWAYS with in the vehicle. If you have any questions, Comment below will reply you.

Hello , First of all u are doing a great work in informing us about different lighting of the vehicles, I have a suzuki swift 2011 model currently running on stock bulbs . I want to upgrade my headlights . Which bulb would u recommend for good vision . And if u are recommending bulbs in the range of 6000K , Will it effect the vision during rain. If it does can u recommend me the bulbs for fog lamp also as it rains heavily for about 5 months here. Looking forward to ur reply
Hi Sharath Philip, Thank you, LED bulbs DO NOT perform well as HALOGEN in RAIN and FOG, As far now i have tested few LED bulbs in RAIN, the penetration of LED light is very less. This bulb cree xhp50 is the best all-rounder but still lags behind Halogen in raining conditions. 6000k is bright white light, more the whiter less visibility in rain, that is due the LED light reflection on the wet road. My opinion is, if you want this bulb, fix this bulb along with a separate pair of HID or HALOGEN fog light with pencil beam pattern, Which will give a clear long view, and it will penetrate well on rain. Still have question comment, below will reply you. Have a Great Day..
@@wheelklub i have shortlisted to the novsight A384-N8 H4 Led , what is your opinion about it . Is there any cheaper ones available , and can u give an example as to the pencil beam u mentioned
Hi Sharath, Checked novsight A384-N8 H4 Led, It is in green color, some time you may see green tint in the light output due to the bulb color, better find in silver (grey) color like the bulb shown in the video, try to find the lowest price on the net and regarding Spot Beam have not checked any spot beam light, give me some time, will update one.
Hi Rakesh Kumar, If your bike bulb type is H4 You can try this bulb, This bulb will cost you around $50 a pair plus import duties ( customs charges) sometimes, this bulb is available in amazon.com or in aliexpress.com. If you have any questions, comment below, will reply you..

Yes you are correct, Initially i was not aware about LUX and LUMEN and mentioned the brightness in LUMEN. I made a video for lumen reading using small Integrating spear link : ruclips.net/video/SB_JHmuGjZQ/видео.html Thank you for pointing out the difference.
Hi Burn Omo, You can buy this on amazon.com, ebay.com or from aliexpress.com, I'm unable to give a link, as the price may vary day to day and you may find a cheaper one. Search like : H4 cree xhp50 bulb Have any question, Comment below will reply.
Hi Francisco Javier, This bulb (Cree xhp 50) is the best performer when compared to other LED bulbs i have tested, If you compare with HALOGEN (100/90 watts) Halogen has more positive point ( like Good light spread pattern, High Beam angle etc..) My opinion about XENON kit in a reflector headlight is : DO NOT USE XENON (HID) IN REFLECTOR HEADLIGHT. The reason is xenon (HID) lights are not focused, you will not get a good light pattern, it will GLARE opposite vehicles badly. If you buy a low cost xenon (Hid) you will not get the correct color temperature, Correct color temperature is in between 4500 k to 6000k Max you can go for 6500k, above 6500k will output blueish light which is not good for visibility. A GOOD Xenon (HID) bulb with proper light temperature from Philips or Osram are very expensive and will not perform well in reflector headlight due to its design pattern, HID's (XENON) ARE GREAT FOR PROJECTOR HEAD LIGHTS. So my opinion is, This led bulb is the best option for now ( NOW ? yes there are more and more new pattern (types of) led are released every day.) Still have any question comment below, will reply you. Have a Great Day..
Thanks for video, its a loose bayonett ring option... I will go for the G7 for the motorcycle, since i broke a part in the reflector... Whats your opinion if u compare this Cree xhp vs G7

Not shure but, ive notice something in a Mazda 2, above where u put the h4 bulb in the reflector u can clearly see small damage on the reflector, more like sort of burned, but in the way of like the silver reflector paint has bubbles. So it still maintains its silver color but bubble like... So when I saw u used the Flir thermal scan, I knew that was a good quality product for heat dissipation... I suspect that it might be those cheap csp for 10-20 bucks bulbs without a fan that did it, or just over all the years using halogen. Hard to say really,, I might wanna try those in your video in the car...
I have the H4 version of these in my motorcycle. They're great, but you'll HAVE TO adjust the headlights after installing them, they have a very different spread compared to halogen bulbs.

Hi Sai Mahangade, These bulbs are mostly available in Online, You can buy these bulbs from amazon.com or eBay.com, if you are from India you have to pay custom duties extra. If you need any help, comment below will reply you. Thank for your Appreciation. Have a Great Day..
Meter readings are helpful but sequentially photographing the wall on which the lamps are shining, one lamp at a time, shows the viewer nothing about the relative appearance of the halogen lamps and the LEDs lamps unless you use the same shutter speed and aperture on the camera, for both lamps. It looks to me, however, as if your camera is automatically adjusting aperture and-or shutter speed. If so, it will decrease the aperture for the brighter lamp, and increase the shutter speed for the brighter lamp (the shutter will stay open for a shorter amount of time for each frame), making both lamps look about the same brightness.
Thank you for POINTING it EVAN MAYER, I never thought about it, i used auto mode, so the camera may have altered it shutter speed and aperture while for each light so that the light show is not correct, My apologies for showing wrong information. Will try to use a fixed shutter speed and aperture in future videos. Thank you again...
You have mentioned that when u switch on the high beam the low beam switches off automatically. But I see in the video you are just powering only the high beam. There is an another pin for high beam.
Hi Random Render, There are three pins, One for NEGATIVE (-) and TWO positive (+) one for LOW beam and one for High Beam. Even tough two pins are connected (supplied power) the driver will not allow it, It is to PREVENT OVER HEAT produced by lighting 4 chips, as the fan is not that big to dissipate very high temperature.
Hi Naveen Singh Rod, The led bulb Link you have given is entirely different from the bulb shown in the video, the bulb in this video is made up of four CREE XHP 50 chips, the one you have posted is made up of a CSP chips, (Chip make is not mentioned in the website) Old of the Maruthi Suzuki swift with reflector headlights support H4 type bulbs, NOTE : 1) ALL the LED BULBS so far i have tested are made in china and It cant be guaranteed for work for said hours like (10,000 hours or 20000 hours etc). 2) LED BULBS performs VERY VERY POOR in RAINY CONDITIONS, So think twice before buying it ( for safety install a pair of halogen as fog lamp for your safety) 3)Always keep a pair of HALOGEN same type of LED BULB as SPARE, when using led bulbs, ANd do know how to replace them when you need) Have any questions, comment below will reply you.
Thank you! @@wheelklub . Found another one on amazon. Looks like same as above from specification perspective, but I see around LED there is spherical glass encasing. Do you think this glass can cause issues with the Beam and reflection? www.amazon.com/dp/B01H68A10C/?coliid=IMQS1ILI0UZHL&colid=20QORW5138MJZ&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
Hi again, Saw the link, the bulb is of same type, the spherical glass encasing is where the magic happens in this bulb, the glass like beads diffuse the light from led chip beneath to give a halogen like soft or smooth diffused light effect. Keep in mind these LED BULBS are NOT guaranteed to work flawlessly and WILL NOT PERFORM WELL IN RAIN. so keep a halogen as a spare always.
Hi Randy Robinson, Yes you are correct, I totally forget in the interest of taking the video, Any way Thank you for pointing it out, will take separate reading in next coming videos... Have a Great Day..
You can get this bulb from amazon.com or alixpress.com , search for H4 cree xhp 50, you will get lots of result, try to select the best price suits you. I can't give a link because you can find a better and cheaper one. If you need help in finding good bulb, kindly send me the link you like to purchase. I will check for you and give my opinion.
:) yes the final product is to be said like that, it is a common word (for example: the light bulb using led chips, LED candles etc... ) you can check this link www.philips-hue.com/en-us/products/smart-lightbulbs
Was it me or was the light pattern a mirror image? Also you can not measure color temperature properly when both bulbs are on.

philips led chips is best for automotive..perfect beam pattern & long distance light like halogen
Do you test this with a projectorlens in your car or without? Does the fan make problems on the radio?
Hi,
I tested it in a reflector headlight ( NO PROJECTOR). Fan noise is acceptable and it did not interfere with car radio.
Is this the best LED light bulb that is out there in the market for high and low. Beam?
Yes It is the best led with good light spread pattern i have tested, Still the high beam angle is not perfect as Halogen. It is better than other led bulb in the market.
Would you recommend over HID on a reflector housing?

Hi! With your experience testing... Do you think this is the best H4 LED? Or is better buy a Xenon kit? Thanks! Good channel you make!
Hi Francisco Javier,
This bulb (Cree xhp 50) is the best performer when compared to other LED bulbs i have tested,
If you compare with HALOGEN (100/90 watts) Halogen has more positive point ( like Good light spread pattern, High Beam angle etc..)
My opinion about XENON kit in a reflector headlight is : DO NOT USE XENON (HID) IN REFLECTOR HEADLIGHT.
A GOOD Xenon (HID) bulb with proper light temperature from Philips or Osram are very expensive and will not perform well in reflector headlight due to its design pattern,
HID's (XENON) ARE GREAT FOR PROJECTOR HEAD LIGHTS.
So my opinion is, This led bulb is the best option for now ( NOW ? yes there are more and more new pattern (types of) led are released every day.)
Still have any question comment below, will reply you.

Hi Random Render,
There are three pins, One for NEGATIVE (-) and TWO positive (+) one for LOW beam and one for High Beam. Even tough two pins are connected (supplied power) the driver will not allow it, It is to PREVENT OVER HEAT produced by lighting 4 chips, as the fan is not that big to dissipate very high temperature.
@@wheelklub thanks for your reply. I thought the same .. Great video thanks bro
Дякую!
Будь ласка
Holly shit... every oncoming vehicle has LEDs...
You have to modify low beam not to be off when hi beam is on. It's normal thing of H4 light.
Bonny Chunkul how?
I tried but failed the driver is made in such a way either high is powered or the low. Can not power both simultaneously
sounds "logic" to do this, but it would overheat if you use it too long.
so better don´t do it.
Thanks for review
Hi,
You are WELCOME, Glade You enjoyed this video and found it interesting.
Have a Great Week..
Wishing You A HAPPY and PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR..
Can you pls try XHP 70
How to buy this one
Hi Binu Sivan,
You can buy this on Amazon.com or eBay.com
In this video i see halogen outperforming led's in concentrated beam.
are these same as these- www.amazon.com/dp/B079GVWBBX/ref=nav_timeline_asin?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 . Also, do both of these fit in swiftvdi 2016 model?
Hi Naveen Singh Rod, The led bulb Link you have given is entirely different from the bulb shown in the video, the bulb in this video is made up of four CREE XHP 50 chips, the one you have posted is made up of a CSP chips, (Chip make is not mentioned in the website) Old of the Maruthi Suzuki swift with reflector headlights support H4 type bulbs,
NOTE :
1) ALL the LED BULBS so far i have tested are made in china and It cant be guaranteed for work for said hours like (10,000 hours or 20000 hours etc).
2) LED BULBS performs VERY VERY POOR in RAINY CONDITIONS, So think twice before buying it ( for safety install a pair of halogen as fog lamp for your safety)
3)Always keep a pair of HALOGEN same type of LED BULB as SPARE, when using led bulbs, ANd do know how to replace them when you need)
Have any questions, comment below will reply you.
WheelKlub thanks for the reply, I am considering changing headlights by this bulb and fog lights by H11.
Not the same position as the halogen filament, light is going to be all over the place.
Please review p9 led bulbs
Sure, Will do a video with p9 and update you. Have a Great Weekend..

Output Led better then Hid...
Hi Julio Christian,
The out put of HID is better than LED, This LED bulb with cree xhp50 low beam is Good but the HIGH beam is not perfect,
Its a LEDlight,its not a bulb..
:) yes the final product is to be said like that, it is a common word (for example: the light bulb using led chips, LED candles etc... ) you can check this link www.philips-hue.com/en-us/products/smart-lightbulbs
