The HU are just phenomenal! Everything they’ve done is just a anthem. The originals are just purely epic but I do love the guest vocalist versions too. It makes me laugh because Jacoby looks like he has no idea what they are singing but is just hyped to be there!! I like ‘A Woman’s Song’ with Lzzy Hale too, glad you found them… you’ll be a fan for life! 🖤
it is basically a war cry it's like a song that you listen to before going to a battle
I agree completely dude.
Just picture it: an invading force led by any general/warleader from over a thousand years ago (EXCEPT Alexander The Great) leads his or her (and yes, while it was EXTREMELY RARE, there actually WERE a few females who led armies into battle in the Ancient World), they see the Mongolian Tribes united under the leadership of the Great Ghengis Khan, then the invading forces say: "um...wait...um...I think I left the oven on...or maybe I forgot to lock the front door...or...um...I'm due for a vacation...um...i have a cold...or...um...BYE!!!"
The invading forces then turn around and RUN LIKE HELL. Hahahaha
Just my own personal opinion anyway.
Saw them live last year, and they are beyond incredible live. During their son "Black Thunder" there were 7 guys all throat singing. Check out the official music videos Parts 1 & 2. There are many movies that don't match them for sheer badassery.
The original is a war chant and the video for it is absolutely AWESOME! Might want to check it out as well. One of the "guitars" is called a tovsuur, the ""big ass fiddle" as one commenter called them, there are two, are morin khuur. Jaya, the one with the longest hair, plays flute, there are two bassists as well as a drummer and a percussionist. 8 in all and all VERY talented Young Men. Well worth listening to all of their videos. One that you would really enjoy, as the tribal vibe, would be This Is The Mongol, from the Nadaam Festival.
The original version is a tad more haunting and pure, I think. But great that you gave The HU a go
100% this.
totally agreed! I didn't see that it was another version when clicked on the video. The raw and pure shred of throat singing and mongolian string instruments are a bit diminished in this version.
Actually it's one of their best "guest" version, they share the energy. But yeah the band is awesome
@@moonglum32 I think Song of women is a much better guest appearance 😁
@@gizmonomono it's a différent vibe altogether.
Thank you for checking out The HU! As others have mentioned (some more politely than others), the versions with guest singers aren't quite as representative as the original versions, but it's still great that you gave the band a listen, they're fantastic!
I am particularly fond of their cover of Metallica's Sad But True, which is insanely good. They really made it their own. ruclips.net/video/QpxA_ZxGX_M/видео.html
Thank you for another great reaction.
There is something about the combination of cultural/traditional music and modern sounds that just mesmerizes me. Separate it's amazing too, but when you put it together like this I get this weird sense of parts of space and time colliding in the best possible way. I can't explain it. It sounds like togetherness feels.
please do more HU please. so damn good reaction,
Actually got to see them at Louder Than Life in 2021. They are even better live. Such a resonating sound.🤘🔥🤘
I shamefully failed on The HU till now. A new rabbit hole! Thanks for another great reaction. You are excellent at this.
loove love, not heard it for a while, the beat and the throat singing is awesome, I love the Viking style of
throat singing too . they also do a great song with Lzzy Hale from Halestorm ( called Women ).
Still gotta say.... its gutting we aren't gonna be seeing these with sabaton, (Babymetal is a damn good replacement mind) but this band is very new to me. I have no idea whats going on but im loving it. Mongolian Folk Metal.... who knew.
My thought process of the fiddle was... 'Giant Ass Violin'
Been waiting a long time for you to react to this!
Finally, you have heard done as I told you and listened to this awesome band
I love watching your reactions. Keep cantering. And I love your waffles!!!
Love your descriptions. The “motion” yes! I have this on my Tribal playlist and love how you can feel it moving in your bones, that motion! Great reaction.
I have followed them for years I love to see how others think of them. This band reminds me of what I have grown up with , tribal. 60 y.o. Turned my 30 y.o. son on to them and anyone with the same music likes. Yes it gives me the chills also.
I love The HU!! So glad you liked this! Great reaction!! ❤❤❤
I had to comment when I saw you reacted to this as I asked ya to in a Ren video. Looking at the comments and seeing so many telling you the original versions are better are interesting to me as watching your reaction you'd think they'd notice it was mostly the Hu themselves that had ya hooked. The Hu is amazing in that they make ya feel the music without even needing to understand the language. Good stuff!
The HU are fantastic :D RUclips put them on my feed one day, and I've never looked back since.
I see people getting very demanding/ranty in the comments. IMO all their songs are absolute bangers, the 'westernised' variants are Different and their own animals, rather than 'Worse'. It's perfectly fine to like both, imo!
Also, they did a track specfically for Jedi: Fallen Order, which is absolutely golden. Can deffo reccomend that one! ^^
Did I ever tell you that you're a legend? Oh.. I have actually, well.. it still is as true as ever, my brother! Thank you, bro
I like the originals better for the sound and emotion, but the americanized versions are also really nice because i can sing along without worrying about butchering their language. Its just 2 different experiences.
THE HU ♥️🙏🇲🇳
I do agree with those who prefer The Hu without the western guest performers. I've been lucky enough to see them live 3 times...that throat singing will physically punch you in the chest when you're in the same room with it. As for soundtracks...check out their contribution to the Jedi:Fallen Order video game soundtrack. Because of course Mongols are Mandalorians. XD
It’s so cool that we have access to music from everywhere. I love it when people have an open mind to give things a chance. Great reaction! 🎉👏
Dude, check out the original too (without the feat.) Altho tis was cool too
everyone should be into this collaboration wow what better way to introduce america heavy music scene the Hu
i can see folks chanting this at both the Hu and papa roach maybe they'll share a stage together that would be so good
I’m 9 months late here Chief, but it’s always good to see you Brother!!!
Never really cared for this version of this song, at the same time whatever it takes to get people to experience this amazing band is a win for The HU
I like the original, but then this one translates their lyrics and it is fuk'in awesome.
Great reaction!!!
The 2 stringed instruments are called morin khuurs or horse head fiddle, the guitar is called a tovshuur or Mongolian lute. You should check out Black Thunder parts 1 and 2, they were all classically trained. The strings on the morin khuur are male and female, I don't know which is which but the male string is made of 200 strands of the hair from the horses tail the female string not as many hair.
wow sounds damn fantastic this should be selling like hot cakes
You're converting me brother 👌
Love this 👍
Tribal is the beat! Hope you check out the original too!
In the original video if you turn on the captions it will give the English subtitles.
The originals are best mate. Nice reaction though!
It's tribal
Poker ,...poker this makes you think of poker. We will have words child
Wrong version imo. Hope it was at least some patreon with bad tastes fault you did this naff redo of the real song?
The Hu are amazing but I really dont like any of the 'ft' versions. They are NOT the proper songs from the album. They are the 'lets try to popularise our music for america by slapping some other semi famous bands singer on top of our song' which ruins their cool origional sound - and redo the great mongolian themed videos with naff american generic rock videos.
Try yuve yuve yu or the great khengis khan. But PLEASE dont listen to their messed with none album 'ft' versions. Check out the real wolf totem for yourself too..
Damn.. I got exceited when i saw wolf totem :( The proper wolf totem video is also 1000 times better than the naff saddix version - and acutally matches their image.
Yeah, have to agree with you on that one!
I think they were actually trying to give americans versions with english lyrics, once the original versions started getting traction here? .... but i agree most of them are actually trash, the only one i like is the one with lzzy hale.
100%
Forget this one
And turn on the subtitles when you do
Yup, but finally, this music is on my godbrats radar
Not that I have anything against Mr. Shaddix but the original is soooo much better!
Original far better. Do that one.
Now
This is a much inferior version of the song. The original is far more badass
Now listen The Uh-Black thunder ft Serj Tankian & DL of Bad Wolves then more interesting
