I have 2 Seastar 1000's. One green one blue. Just purchased the 2000 in the lighter blue dial. 5 Tissots altogether and love them all. I rarely wear my Omega and Hamilton. The Tissots are great watches

A lot of people complain about the size of the Tissot 2000 , if you were actually going to dive you want a large watch with great loom I dove for many years but for a daily watch I prefer 39 mm 40mm . Nice Review 👍

Great review Joe. Glad to see you got one awesome Seastar 1000, this one is truly beautiful and ticks all the boxes. 43mm case is on the bigger side, but with a lug-to-lug of 49mm is absolutely doable. Love it brother 🙌 Enjoy it 👍 Take care and God bless .

Beautiful watch huge upgrades in 2023. Love the 43mm bezel doesn’t look like a kids watch. Bracelet is gorgeous I love the polish stainless steel down the middle and I’m VERY happy the band does not taper that’s is so late 80’s style that Movado used to do. With 80 hours power reserve, Swiss made, beautiful glass my personal favourite is the Greek blue dial face. Read the instructions so the crown seals water tight in a forward motion. Many forget this part thinking the watch is sealed shut but the crown needs to be wound forward so it shuts tight like a water faucet.There should be zero gap between the crown and the bezel so you know it’s tightly sealed the crown should not be able to turned forward anymore. Enjoy the watch it’s gorgeous and great price!!

It definitely does punch above its weight class in the looks department love the grey colourway, a lot to like apart from the 21mm lug width!

This would be a nice alternative for anyone that doesn’t want to pay double the price for an Oris.I say that because it gives me Oris Vibes.I have the Quartz Seastar 1000(chrono)and I absolutely LOVE IT.
Oris vibes for sure. It’s a great watch. I only wish they kept the sporty bracelet from the previous edition and swapped the clasp from the current.

Hey Chris… we sent it back to the Amazon dealer we bought it from and bought a new one directly from Tissot.
Seems like a great value! 21mm is a dumb design decision but otherwise alot to like for that price.
Some people like to crap on Tissot and I understand is not the top of the Swiss brands, but, this watch does looks awesome.
This watch is a winner in my humble opinion. If it didn’t use BGW9 for the lume, it might be perfect. I have the Seastar1000 amd love it. I was worried anout the lower beat rate making it less accurate. Since I had the watch serviced, it has run within COSC specs!

That is a beautiful watch dude! The gray is really sharp. Very similar to an Oris Aquis I was expecting a few years back. The deal went south but it would have been a stunner 😁 I have a Seiko Turtle with a gray dial as well. It's a nice change for a diver.

Excellent review sir, I’m looking for a sea star an I think I’m edging towards this model. I was looking at the 2000 but my wrist is 6.5 inches an don’t think I could carry it off.

The etching on the bezel was a smart move no doubt! Really cool piece, that lollipop should have been just a bit bigger and the date window a smidge larger but other than that, looks great! 😎🍻👍

Are you sure that the movement has silicon spring? Cuz tissot sells the silicium powermatic 80 separately in other watches like the gentleman!?

I’m honored my friend. You’re making a good choice. Tissot doesn’t hold their value as good as Hamilton for instance. Buy it because you like it and enjoy it. You lose money on almost anything you buy new.

Which watch would you choose over this and the Christopher Ward Trident Pro 600?
I’d say the Longines HydroConquest gives this watch a run for its money especially if you’re looking for that rare gray bezel. I would never go for a micro brand over a Tissot simply for resale alone. That’s my .02 though. 😉👍

@@AvgJoeWatchReviews Here in Canada a HydroConquest will cost two to three times what a Seastar 1000 goes for. The Longines is a nicer watch in nearly every respect IMHO, but be prepared to pay a premium.
Not inspired bythe Tissot divers tbh. Great vid tho. The value's good especially in Europe.

This seems like a great watch but unfortunately nobody that I know has been able to find out through Tissot if this watch is ISO certified as a dive watch...yet they dare call it a dive watch. Does anyone know for sure if this watch is ISO certified? The newer Citizen automatic dive watch is ISO certified and that watch is much more affordable than this Tissot which doesn't make any sense to me.
When I hear "ceramic" bezel it makes me think of dinner plates and coffee mugs. Do these scratch, chip easily?
So do I. You’re not alone. This ceramic is different indeed in its properties. Virtually scratch resistant but have been known to break but you’d have to be doing something would potentially break the crystal as well.

I’m biased as I’m a fan of Tissot. I know Doxa has a good brand but I have no experience with the brand.

Tissot or Longines?
That’s the million dollar question. Very compatible. Longines is considered a tier up and entry luxury level where Tissot, despite it’s popularity and are a step below. Longines will cost you at least 400.00 extra for a similar spec’d diver. At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference.

Have you gotten the inaccurate time keeping issue resolved with this? Man a timepiece that cannot keep time accurately is absurd.
I simply sent it back and went somewhere else for a replacement. Keeps excellent time now.

I see why i hate this watch so much polish for me the back is ceramic why not sapphire glass for both the worse ever Illuminating in the dark not so bright i sell my tissot seastar 1000 powermatic i get the mido ocean star 200c 80h reserve instead with green dial omg so perfect the look is more better the finishing so great the Illuminating in the dark way way bright when you turn the bezel the click so good 100x better than tessot.
