Hi Oxana! I'm not surprised by another price increase but I'm still disappointed. I only like the 255 bags but I love the RTW and aesthetics of Chanel. I'm no longer shopping at Chanel.

Wise people no longer buy Chanel in store, the price increase doesn’t quite sit well especially for the quality of their bags now.
You can buy a preloved vintage Birkin or Kelly for around $16,000 CAD. Put it through the Hermes spa and the value will increase. A Chanel medium classic flap is not reselling for anywhere near $16,000 CAD. Prices on preloved market is around $8-9k CAD.

Hi @oxana and the OP, I somewhat agree but …you need to consider the extra space cost as it is not free. Also the market has changed and now older Hermes birkins or Kelly’s are selling for way less than before sometimes you find them under retail. Things are definitely changing for all brands. Personally I rather buy new from boutique (of course , respectfully, “ to each their own”). I would only buy preloved of the color and style is something I missed and couldn’t get at the boutique 😊

I’m like you Oxana, now that I pretty much got everything I wanted from Hermes, I’m back to Chanel. I’m not after the classics since I own a few, but I’m open to seasonal bags. It’s just refreshing to actually shop and choose a bag if I feel like it instead of constantly waiting at Hermès. 😂

Around the same time last year, before the price increase, I decided that that would be my last time buying from the boutique, and I went and picked up 3 bags. Then I went to Paris end of the year and saw a bag in the boutique that checked off more than 1 thing on my wishlist, so I bought it (oh, do look out for my unboxing video because it should be coming up soon 😬). I will be going to Paris again this year but I’m not planning to buy any bag from Chanel. Going forward, I’ll be looking in the preloved market in my country or possibly go to Japan. That is the plan.

Hi @oxana I love that your husband buys the handbags as presents for you, I have the same situation, even for my anniversary as presents depending what I prioritize on my wishlist😂 . Personally, I am a chanel girl through and through and will always remain a chanel lover and will continue to buy depending on what my priorities are for the wishlist 😅. I also love Hermes but neither brand is perfect and worth more than the other IMHO, it all comes down to style and preference. Last but not least, IMHO, NO HIGH END BRAND, no even Hermes is perfect or is worth the money we are willing to pay for all of them 😊
Yes, I agree on quality issues even with Hermes. I once bought Della in Nata colour with really-really bad stitching. I returned that bag. I even have video on my channel with close up of those stitches
