      I guess if you truly believed the Inquisitor was the chosen of Andraste, who was in turn the chosen of a god, then maybe you'd think that they on their own had the power to do that simply because they were blessed and it was their destiny to destroy Tevinter, heck depending on the Inquisitor's choices, maybe they encouraged that belief. In reality though, this is pretty stupid unless Hira believed the Inquisition would unite the armies of Orlais, Fereldan and maybe the Free Marches to wage war against the Venatori, which in turn would cause a war with Tevinter at large. That was never going to happen after Corypheus and the rifts were dealt with because it wasn't in any of their interests really. Without Corypheus, his orb, and his control over the blight, the Venatori weren't much of a threat to their individual nations; not to mention, they just got off the mage/templar war, fighting groups of angry mages, even those who supported Tevinter (as some rebel mages did) must seem kind of boring to them at this point.

      Add to that most of time the Inquisitor just chills behind a war table, send his/her armies to do most of the job, and then he/she just arrives with his/her Mary Sue hand to clear the leftovers.

    The Inquisition formed to fight problems literally no one else had the capacity or wherewithal to even approach. The only reason it even played nice with Orlais or Ferelden was because it had to operate in those territories. Even now, the only reason it's remnants still operate is to try and stop the literal end of the world. Tevinter isn't that level of threat. They are literally too small a problem for the Inquisition's methods to work on effectively.

      Besides, if the ‘Vints were gone, who’s going to be a buffer against the Qun? I’d rather those two keep their pissing match going, while everyone else rests up after the THREE CREATOR DAMNED DISASTERS that took place down south all within two decades.

    • @cyfertea8707
      @cyfertea8707 Год назад +3

      Not really. Tevinter has access to magic that only they can use, military force strong enough to go toe to toe against the Qunari, and technology merged with magic. Let's not forget that despite the strength of the Qunari powder we saw a few Venatori mages can wipe out an entire dreadnought with ease. And Orlais and Ferelden is already having a hard time to counter Qunari Dreadnought (Orlais trying to get their hands on one since DA2). Also despite the hatred against the Tevinter, they're the only ones standing between Qunari and the rest of thedas, if Tevinter falls, only the Qun will benefit from it. Tevinter troops are enchanted and having significantly more and stronger mages far stronger than all the circle combined, let's not forget they're the masters of blood magic and many more dark arts only they studied. Mages can wipe out armies, and they even have their own templars. Tevinter mages are ahead to magic compared to all their human counterpart thanks to them having little to no limits and restraints in terms of magical research and progression, compared to the circle and qun who pisses themselves whenever they see new magic.

  • @earendilthemariner4691
    @earendilthemariner4691 Год назад +14

    Here's the thing, if the Inquisition really wanted to, they could have gone to war with Tevinter, they had allies in nearly all of southern Thedas, an army large and well-trained enough to assault a fully occupied, demon-infested Warden fortress, and they could have easily justified themselves by the actions of the Venatori. Only one problem, they had other problems to deal with after Corypheus, like leftover Fade Rifts, insurgents from the civil war, demons and undead plaguing the countryside, the remaining Venatori and Red Templars, and at the end of all of that was Ferelden and Orlais turning on them because they stopped being so convenient for solving their problems. Hira is a selfish, short-sighted, and a downright terrible person who literally says she cares more about her vendetta than the one she claims to love and care about, so of course she'd say something like this. Dear maker, she makes my blood BOIL.

    • @mfraye12
      @mfraye12 Год назад +3

      Most of the big decisions have consequences of equal seriousness. You will always have a few of the companions or characters disagree with your decisions because if they made everyone agree with everything it would be boring as hell and there would be no problem to solve. They wouldn't need your character there to make the decision if everyone agreed already with what should be done. The point is that there is usually no correct answer to these choices. By design you can't please everyone; if there were decisions that would please all the characters, people would rightly complain that the game pressured you into making you choose that decision over another.

When we don't have to see the destruction and aftermath of-well everything else like the Inquisitor did, its easy to forget a wars going on in the first place.

    As bad as it was the only viable solution is siding with the Templars. Siding with the Mages only leads to chaos and destruction because eventual demonic influence and eventually possession. Unfortunately no one knows what creates a mage so all that can be done is to tightly control them once found.
    Are there corrupt or power hungry Templars? of course there are. While not all mages mean to do harm or will ever be corrupted. It only takes a rogue mage to cause the destruction of basically a nuclear bomb. Anyone of those going off is just too potentially dangerous. The damage a rogue Templar can do compared to a rogue Mage is many orders of magnitude.
    This is also why Tevinter is so damn dangerous and also why the next expansion MUST cover that location. What a magic fueled society looks like.
