Thanks! The only haptic feedback I have is the "buttkicker" which runs off simshaker for aviatiors. It uses datarefs from the sim to produce proper feedback vs just being driven off of sound.
Depends on my mood and the type of flying. If im trying to follow IFR procedures its alot easier to use the cockpit setup. I can access the ipad, brief charts, paper checklists, tune radios ect ALOT easier in the cockpit vs VR. VR flying is super immersive however and I can do IFR there too, however I feel like im fumbling around trying to stay ahead of the aircraft. Thanks for watching!
@@av8rchris I do exactly the same. ifr espacially with airliners is so hard when have to fumbling around and hit buttons in the air in the VR headsets, feel so fake.. . but again nothing beats the immersion in VR when it comes to flying an uncomplicated plane with hotas over montains and valleys.
I’m not sure what you mean? There’s the double “eye” vision from the vr capture and the right screen in the home cockpit is the view out the right of the aircraft.
Hey, did you test DX11 vs DX12 in tripple monitor, because i think DX12 IS BROKEN atm with more than one window. I can get 140fps on high to ultra settings, 5k resolution with one ultrawide screen, but as soon as i add even one more renderwindow the frames tank to 29fps, no matter what settings, even everything on low 1080p. It‘s a shame because frame generation in DX12 mode is the one upgrade that would be useful for a 3-screen setup. I get a smooth 39fps in DX11 with 3 monitors, high to ultra settings and 9k vertical resolution but 29fps and brutal bad responsiveness when in DX12 and even turning on frame generation does nothing with more than one renderwindow.
Interesting - I think Ill run through all the same tests including VR in DX11 and see what the difference is. DX12 has typically been stutter free and smoother overall for me so Ive kinda stuck there and forgotten about DX11 at this point. I'm going to have to give it another go with this card.
I'm working on a Kodiak sim pit. For mine, I'm using 65" TCL 6000 series tvs driven by a liquid cooled 3090. All TVs running 2160p 30 fps been considering getting a 4090 but for now, I'm done spending. 😅 video coming soon. 🎉
Once the SU11 update drops officially I'm going to give it a go. I had issues when I left the SU10 beta so I'm going to stick with official releases for now. I tried with DLSS(2?) in Su10 and I didnt see any difference at all.
The biggest advantage of the RTX 4090 is the DLSS 3 with Frame Generation. I have seen other reviews where the FPS more than doubled (compared to DLSS 3 is Off). Also, the additional frames you get with DLSS 3 will not show up on the MSFS built-in frame counter, so you need to use a third-party tool to see the actual frame number.
I have heard about needing the 3rd party tool, Im going to give that a go to see any differences. I will be giving DLSS3 a shot once SU11 releases to see how it works out. Hopefully its everything they say it is!
I'm running an i9 12900k 32gb ddr 5 ram and everything on a raided nvme set. Def seem to be CPU limited as I recently bumped up from 2k resolution in the cockpit to 4k on all 3 screens. I gained about 4-7 fps depending on the situation. In others FPS is exactly the same.
@@Ahmedblaser Your welcome! I'm typically around low 30s on triple screens in 4k. Terrain LOD is 200, most settings are pretty high/ultra. Around NYC FPS can go worse case high 20s but its still pretty smooth overall. In the air Im usually high 30's and in to the 40s.
Nice! Im seeing about the same. I will say with the 4090 Im now able to crank up the triple display setup from 2k to 4k and it looks so much better. All for the same and sometimes more (which i cant explain) frame rates! I ran some quick tests with CapFrameX, and my low FPS for a lap at LGA in the K100 is around 29 fps. With 2k resolution my low was 26.7. Stutter Percentage went from .21s in 2k resolution 0s in 4k.
I havent had a chance to see what kind of an increase the 13 series is showing, Ill have to check it out. I'm probably going to hold off as now with DLSS3 im super impressed with how well MSFS runs now. Just from some quick testing I did, my in sim baseline fps was around 50, dlss (measured via msi afterburner) was showing around 120 so around double. I didnt notice any artifacting or anything either!
@@av8rchris search RUclips with the phrase 12900 K versus 13,900 k with 4090, there's a couple videos out there seems to be showing anywhere from a 10 to 15 FPS Improvement. Wow the 4090 looks amazingly smooth in VR as you mentioned. Curious what could be causing the bottleneck for both cards, while in the triple monitor setup? Thanks for posting this comparison... much appreciated!
Yep! VR performance is incredible. Im still tinkering to see why the triple monitor isnt as much of an improvement as I thought it would be and why in some cases it actually seems to be worse performance.
@@av8rchris I did also some test on 4090 with 4k vs triple 1440p. Even if 3 x 1440 display is around 30 % more pixels to calculate, the frame rate for me was around 25-30 fps compared to around 70-80 fps in New York (with DLSS 3 on but frame generation off). Since the multi display setting is under experimental, could it be so that it's just so unoptimized at the moment?
I was thinking it could be an optimization issue. Then I did a test in XP12 and XP11 and saw similar performance. So its possible its all just CPU bottle necked. Who knows - maybe performance is being left on the table not using an ATX 3.0 PSU? I have a more than capable unit, corsair 1200 watt, but maybe it just doesnt unleash all performance when using that 4 in one combo cable. Im not really in the market to upgrade a PSU (unless I see hard evidence that would do the trick) so Ill just stick with it as is.
Unsure on what your settings are, but I run about 37 FPS on ground 40 + in the air, on triples with 5800X3D and 3080, DX12. Says that it is GPU limited yellow/red (CPU in the green). Use 4K on the front and 2K on the sides - most settings on high a couple on medium - always smooth. Would expect more frames/higher possible settings with a better GPU.
Yea I felt the same. I still fly often enough in VR so theres def some value there, I was just expecting some sort of boost in triple display. For some reason it seems like I take a hit in FPS more than anything. Could just be me but it does feel smoother I guess on the 4090, even for the same frame rates. Im hoping further optimizations/driver updates yield more performance over time.
@@av8rchris shit, I'm on a 3090, 10850k and DDR 4. I've only had my current PC two years and want to get at least three so I might try and hold another year. Overall I'm happy. It seems pretty smooth overall and VR is night and day! Im sure with driver updates and optimization it'll improve with time. Whats interesting is when I run the TVs in 4k I do get better performance (about 6fps higher), however with my current streaming setup I need to say in 2k for now (long story lol). Ultimately if I find a work around I'll end up bumping up the resolution to 4k across the 3 screens.
How many monitors can the 3090 support? I want to go triple screen plus two touch panels.
I ram my 3090 with the 3 4K tvs but I had the TVs in 2k resolution. Comparatively I get about the same fps with a 3090 3x2k vs a 4090 3x4k.

In VR, is your instrument displays clear? It is very blurry on mine in VR and wondering if upgrading to a 4090 would make it crystal clear
The 4090 and the Reverb G2 the instruments are very clear. Not 100% perfect if its smallish fonts your reading but very clear.
