I also have the fcu from wingwings. How are the APPR and LOC buttons on yours when they are illuminated? On mine it lights up very minimally, a little less at the top near the letters PP (appr) and O (LOC), so very little difference but if you look more closely you can see it a little.
LOL
Hey! What sort of clearance is needed around the rig, it lists the footprint but does the frame extend this? Thanks
Thats tough, really depends what you end up mounting to it to make it overhang. The TV I have on there overhands a slight bit, but if it leans to the full range of motion on the rig that can increase substantially. I have a little over 2ft of clearance on the side closest to the wall and that's more than enough. When the rigs fully deflected I have about 27" between wall and the top corner of the TV. Just something to keep in mind so you don't crash through a wall haha.
@ yeah that’s the worry I’ll mount a tv to the wall or stand I just kinda need an idea of what footprint the frame & chair need whilst “in motion” 😅 i believe you can reduce the range of motion within the software too so maybe I can make it work with this haha!
@@thedeveloperadam Yea without anything crazy on the rig it doesn't really overhang by much if at all and yes, through Sim Racing studio you can limit the amount of the range of motion. I typically run the rig in "rate" mode for the roll axis so it doesn't move as much on that axis and feels more like a coordinated turn when flying GA/Airliners. DCS and mil planes are more aggressive so you'll still hit that range of motion.
@ thanks mate
This was too funny 😂
I genuinely thought I missed that on the settings before I played haha
That jumpscare and reaction tho! 😂 Love this!
😂 called it on the money what game is this? And love the short!
haha thanks! Nightmare Flight is the game
Nice setup with some top peripherals. I struggled with the capabilities/reliability of my DC motor motion setup for a few years, until I bit the bullet and built actuators out of three 1.8KW AC servos.. Difference in smoothness, speed and power was night and day. I just built a simple 3DOF flat motion platform and dropped my old cockpit on top - not as expensive as you may think. All the best.
Interesting! I've always heard about the DIY pay of motion rigs but I didn't think I had the skills to pull it off honestly.
I just found out that Aerosoft have just shipped my collectors addition today 12th December.. I live in UK and will probably have inport duties to pay on top. Well done Aerosoft!!
Thats terrible. I'll most likely be avoiding any collectors editions in the future if they're offered. I feel like that should have all been accounted for up front. Surely there must be a way to include that in the up front cost I'd imagine? I hope it's not expensive!
Well I bought it and it says the cost straight up sure there was some delays but I got it
So the Hard part in an actual flight is having the Avionics computer calling you a retard while your trying to land..
That was a great landing and stream !
Thanks Dave!
Thanks for the great review. I’m currently looking at the EFIS - will be nice to not have to use a mouse!
Thanks for watching! The EFIS is great - you'll love it!
Sarà compatibile per Msfs2024? Hai qualche info dal produttore ? Thx
I've used the MCDU in 2024 with the fenix without any issues via MobiFlight. You'll need the moboflight latest beta for it to work.
You took the word "Unboxing" a little too literally, I was hoping for showcasing the stuff inside the box up close, but looks like you are saving that for another video.
Yea this was more something i threw together quickly. I wasn't sure how much interest everyone would have for the items. I can put something together for sure!
and do a longer video showing the bag the patch... everything. you can make it at less 5 minutes
Sure! I wasnt sure if folks would be interested so this was more of a quick unboxing. I can put something together!
yes please we want to see the antonov :) 😢😊
Ill be doing a more of an in depth video soon!
Cool! Can you make a video on the model plane?
I can! Its actually really nice quality and solid metal. Very heavy.
Thank you very much for your tutorial, it allowed me to get a perfect gaming experience in MSFS2020. Is there a way to achieve it in MSFS2024?
Not sure - my copy just arrived today, I'd have to mess with it. Thanks for watching!
They start coming down over EGE right? Not a pilot but that seemed unstable from the get go.
The Red Table (DBL) VOR. Oh it was beyond unstable haha. Second approach was much better. Very challenging managing the aircraft energy on such a steep descent. Hats off to the folks who fly this IRL!
Freaken Beast Mode landing !
Thanks Dave!
Have you been able to get your brunner yoke and pedals to work in msfs 2024? Mine worked for a short bit then stopped connecting to the sim.
Still haven't received my copy of 2024 yet haha. I did the collectors edition which they decided to only ship the day of launch. They also put the key with the package so no access yet. Some preorder lol. I do remember it seemed to work when I had the tech alpha I think. Possible they changed something.
@@av8rchris mine worked for a short time then stopped working. I contacted brunner and they said they hoped to have a fix by the end of the year.
Received 2024 and so far everything with the runner has worked fine. Someone on the MSFS forums said they reinstalled the software and that fixed the issue for them. I'm on the latest CLS2Sim (v5.7.23).
You mentioned some caveats with VR but I don't think you ever mentioned those? Did I miss it? Thanks for the review
Sorry about that if I didnt cover it! I honestly can't remember now haha. The caveat was motion compensation. Not in a bad way just a few things to consider when going VR on the rig. I covered that in greater detail on the next video: ruclips.net/video/ah8YCOilEDc/видео.html Thanks for watching!
Another great review, Chris! Love how you explained the functions very clearly. 👍
Thanks!
@av8rchris You're welcome! 😄
Hi, can you tell me if the motion rig without VR for MSFS is still immersive? I have a HW cockpit setup and won't be able to use VR and still work the buttons/switches
@@rickybobby28 I use the rig honestly most without vr to use all the hardware I have. It’s still plenty immersive! I’d say the key is having a decent size display mounted to it. I use a 43” (I think that’s the size) tv.
@@av8rchris thanks for the reply. I do have a 34" ultrawide.
@@rickybobby28 Nice! Just take in to account the weight of it. The 43" I have is about 22 lbs. You may be fine depending what other stuff you mount to the front of the rig but if it gets too front heavy the motors may overwork. Just something to keep in mind.
@@av8rchris yep, it is under the weight limit. One more question where did you get the aluminum frame for the overhead panel?
@@rickybobby28 I got it from home depot. Its 1" square tube aluminum. I'm putting together a video on how I put it all together, should be out soon!
Hey love the video do you have one one how you built the frame for the overhead?
I just picked up some aluminum square bars from home depot and 90 degree couplers off amazon to match the size. Kinda just winged some of the measurements from there. I can prob put together a video on it which covers it and lists the parts in the next few weeks.
try ping pong or Tetris...
Nicely done still 😂
It’s easier to fly a real plane than these simulators
Is IT?😂
No u dumbass
I dont have any jet time, but comparing cessnas in sim to the real thing I'd agree.
I would say 4 good reasons😅 sink rate , glide slope, airspeed low and touchdown way out of the touchdown zone 😅

@andreabaront2240 haha fair!
Phew! That was challenging. 😅
@@captainthoff probably some of the most violent I’ve felt the rig move haha
@av8rchris I can see that! Haha
What size monitor are you using on your rig?
Its a 43" LG C3 Oled TV. Worked out great since it was pretty lightweight!
Very informative video. Thanks I noticed you have placed your VR hand controllers on your rig. What do you use that for? I have seen other people doing that and I could never guess why.
Which part of the video? If its around the 2:47 part that was used to be the sensor for the motion compensation. Currently I use the vive tracker instead as its a bit easier and doesnt tie up a controller.
Exellent setup
Thanks!
Hi there, would you be able to comment on the software and the motion setup through it? Does the software give enough flexibility for tinkering with the motion and how the rig behaves? Does DOF support FlyPT? I have a 3 DOF rig currently (NOT DOF Reality brand) and potentially looking to upgrade to the 6DOF, which is not supported by the brand that I have. Can you get a coordinated flight with the DOF Reality software? Meaning that the rig does not roll side to side in a banked tun, if the aircraft is not slipping or skidding in the air. And if I am intentionally slipping the aircraft, can the software accommodate the behavior of rolling to the opposite side of the bank, to simulate G-forces pushing pilot out of the seat into the outside of a turn, like you would feel side G load through a turn in a car? Another example is using heave when pitching up and down in air, but not have the actual pitch in the motion. For me it feels a lot more natural to feel the motion of up/down when pitching in the air, rather than the actual pitch of the rig. I'm able to set all of this up in FlyPT, but unsure how other software handles all of that. Thanks.
The software it uses is SRS or Sim Racing studio. Theres a ton of options to change although Im not sure on the coordinated turn stuff. You certainly have my interest though - going to have to look in to that one. Not sure if the dof rigs support any other software either. Check out the SRS software, maybe you can find the setting your looking for. It was originally designed around racing I believe but they've added a ton of stuff for the flight simmer.
So I may have found the setting. You can change the rig to respond to "rate" instead of "angle". I've recently tried this and it works out really well as you sort of get the feeling of loading and unloading the G force during maneuvers.
It was surprising to come across your review while we were in production. Thanks for sharing your experience and feedback in such a beautiful way 👏 With gratitude, CFT Team
Thanks for watching! You guys make some great hardware!
can you do a full flight with this boeing cockpit?
I can and usually do on the live streams. Come check em out!
nice vid
Thanks! Cant wait for this to drop!
Where did you get the overhead panel?
@@StarsOverStripes it’s from vrinsight!
I wonder if you used the quest pro controllers would you have better results… I know they have cameras on the controllers and their own chip
I thought about trying that but I had some tracking issues even with the rig locked. I assume due to the screens reflectiveness. I’ve been very happy with the big screen so far. I use my quest for everything else.
For many reasons left getting into this great hobby until late in life, so still would like some improvements in the flight model and also the data that is exported to drive motion and pressure harness systems that many people have.
Oh 100%. Im not saying its perfect, but not terrible. Certainly looking forward to the new FM changes they've made for 24'. The telemetry data is something I didnt even think about. Theres a few times the data seems to not be clean and causes me to get violently moved around in my dof reality P3. Mostly during pushback so it could be GSX messing with the data.
Great video as always brotha!!!
Thanks!!
I use the quest 3 with a 3DOF motion rig sitting inside a lit black out booth with three stationary 50 inch screens. Use a WIT for motion cancellation. Always tracks perfectly...?
I think my issue was the screen being so reflective. Even without the motion rig moving my center position would drift with the q3. Although I’m wondering if the black out booth helps too. That’s one thing I never tried.
@@av8rchris Yep, never have a tracking issue maybe its also to do with the lighting I use for mixed reality ...ruclips.net/video/y-wKgNq-wh0/видео.html ?
@@seattime4075 wow that looks incredible! Nice setup!
🔥🔥🔥
Well my jaw hit the floor when you mentioned me and my channel! So glad I could help you on your journey to motion! It is so hard to explain to people the "game changer" that a full motion rig is. I was hesitant when I first bought mine but I still consider it one of the best things I've ever bought. Glad I found your channel, keep up the great work and maybe we can go flying together sometime. -Mark/Get Your Game On
Def one of the best purchases I've made. I went from a 3x55" tv setup with G1000 panels to this and I can't go back - complete game changer indeed! Might have to take you up on the flying offer one of these days! Thanks for watching!
@@av8rchris Anytime, keep up the great work!
Fantastic review I have the H2 and think it’s superb 😊 Regards Dave from Scotland
Just great units arent they?! Thanks for watching!
Nice
I don't see why you can't just weld on mounts for the base stations. I've always wondered that wouldn't work.
To mount the base stations to the motion rig itself? I know they have moving parts inside that can get damaged if theyre moved while on I believe. If that wasnt a factor it would be interesting to see how it reacts although I cant imagine well. I've seen tracking get messed up for me if i power off one of the stations, move it then turn it back on. I dont have a good enough understanding on the tech to understand what might happen.
@@av8rchris I am glad I mentioned that because I had no idea they had moving parts inside them. I just assumed they were some kind of sensor. Since I can no longer use the Openxr toolkit on DCS(Varjo Aero) I don't have the ability to counteract the vibrations of 3 buttkickers on my rig. I was kicking around the idea of mounting them to my rig. That would have been a HUGE mistake. Thank you!
@@baaamakingbaaaa Oh wow - glad I could help! Check out some YT videos where they're filmed with an IR camera and you can see it in action. If your using a vive tracker I ended up 3d printing a mount that I was able to insert these rubber spaces used on drones. Someone had the files on the openxr mc discord. It works really good unless I really crank the butt kicker up too much so I just found a happy medium by playing around.
Also one more thing, the pimax 8kx is currently the best headset that has base stations. Better clarity and a 170 degress of FOV. Definitly can recommend ;)
I tried the 8kx awhile back but I could never get used to it. While the FOV was awesome, it sits very heavy on my face. The software for it drove me nuts also lol.
Also there is a game called IL 2 sturmovik, you dont need motion compensation for it, as you cant move much in the cockpit. You could try that game with your other headsets
I'd have to check it out, depends on how they do their VR implementation would be my guess.
Interesting so you believe Vr headsets that need base stations work better with vr motion compensation than newer headsets ? And why do you believe your screen had something to do with the tracking ? I for example dont have a screen only VR, do you think motion compensation will work fine for my quest 3 ?
Its mainly from my experiences with the rig and VR. When I had a smaller 27in monitor i didnt have too many issues. I think the reflective surface combined with how large the screen is (43") causes the loss in tracking on my Q3. I did a few tests covering the screen and there were some improvements but that wasnt ideal. If your just using a 2 or 3 dof rig and no screen you may be fine with a Q3. If you go for a 6 dof, the witmotion style sensors cant account for that so you wont have a proper motion comp experience.
Great review buddy. P3 owner myself as well, mostly iRacing and only VR here though. Once you got one of these, what ever sim genre you do, everything becomes completely lifeless without the rig switched on.
Can you tell me more how it feels in VR ? Is the traction loss good ? So its really that good in vr ? I am thinking about getting the h3 soon.
Thanks for watching! I simply can't go back. Theres no replacement for actually feeling flight.
