Way back in the mid 1980's (while travelling in the USA) I came across Jewish beleivers in Messiah, I attended a Passover sadar and was totally blown away by the experence and it had me going back to the scriptures with new insights.
Since then I have been blessed by some wonderful and humble teachers of the Torah over the years - the scripture is from Genesis to Revelations. It is sad that many Christians are so lacking in knowledge of the books the old testement (the Tanakh) or how it relates to them.
The Torah is for today or has G-D changed? What G-D "hated" then, is not something HE hates now?
If we don't know what is unlawful how can we know we have sinned? And how can we be lawful with out the law?
Can being lawless be wrong if we are not required to follow the law?
Common sense tells you that there are many parts of the Torah of G-D which we can not keep but for the rest what is the problem? Christians tell be that they just keep the ten commandments but I smile and reply - "You mean the nine commandments".

Yes, Christ pointing out that if you could not believe Moses who prophesied the coming of a Messiah, it would be difficult for you to believe that he is that Messiah come to provide a new covenant, superseding, fulfilling the Mosaic Law which only proved that man could not keep it, hence Jesus, his new law, not written on tablets but on the hearts of men, as he dwells in us by the Holy Spirit. He especially, in the context of the verses prior, exposes how they put so much hope in Moses, the keeping of the Law, their works of righteousness, glory they get from each other and not the glory that comes from His Father, the purpose of his coming.

great video. I believe Solberg has made very good clarifications on the reasons , explicitly the 5 points that vmake impossible the following of the law . Not in an antinomian way , rather in a respectful way for the law and the previous covenants, which makes unnecessary the rituals .
As Jesus said, unless we were more righteous than the scribes and pharisees, we would not see the kingdom of God. Here Solberg shows good points on the GOspel summarizing in the grace for everybody including Jews , as the scripture confirms that nobody was ever saved by the law until Jesus consummated it ( as the law was a mean to show men the no salvation through works from the beginning). Emphasis is provided on Paul recognizing the foundation provided by the law pointing to the Messiah ( if the prime is holy , the rest is holy)

Here is a line from my 7th day Sabbath study that I wish every "christian" would take the time to understand. It would add so much clarity in understanding Pauls letters.
Laws of God / Moses controversies of the Gospels are on issues of Halacha (based on biblical commandments (mitzvot), subsequent Talmudic and rabbinic law Halacha teaches how to behave between others and God)
The N.T. uses paradosis for Jewish Halachah (Rabbinic rules for walking out Torah): For example see Matthew 15:2,3,6; Mark 7:3,5,8,9,13. Paul uses it in a negative sense in Colossians 2:8 “tradition of men,” and in a positive sense for his own instruction as to how believers should walk (1 Cor 11:2; Gal 1:14; 2 Thess 2:15; 3:6).

This response video is on point, David. Well done. I've somewhat followed the back and forth with you and Solberg and I watched his video regarding the Law of Moses and the Gospel when it first came out, and I have witnessed his flip-flopping on this very point. He may not even realized at the time that he was doing this. But it's not just on this point that his arguments get convoluted. It happens whenever he attempts to articulate who/what *Israel* is and whenever he attempts to explain that the Law of Moses has "ended", but not actually and isn't applicable to Christians but kind of is.
I do hope Solberg will one day take it upon himself to actually familiarize himself with the scholarship and exegetical work of men like David Rudolph and Matthew Thiessen and Mark Nanos. Unfortunately, Solberg is really just stuck at the level of an apologist. He doesn't avail himself of resources accessible for real exegetical analysis.

David Wilber is rightly dividing the scriptures, and simply showing that the new (renewed) covenant is a continuation, not a new thing altogether. Yeshua died to bring us back into covenant, to keep the original promises to the nation, not so that we could continue to transgress the covenant!

Also the law that came due to sin. The sacrificial system in the book of Leviticus was a response to Moses plea to God to not annihilate the nation of Israel. It is the shadow of good things to come and the ordinances that were against us. The sin offerings were to teach us that if you sin something had to die and that we needed someone to redeem us. This also made it our schoolmaster until the seed came which is Christ.

We are still in the present world of duality and sin in which more work is necessary. The ordinances of the Torah are not against us, they are against the wicked. If you believe in Messiah you are free from the condemnation (curses) of the Torah upon the wicked. It does not mean that the Torah is evil or unfair. On the contrary the Torah is a reflection of God’s will for the humanity. This is what Paul explained in Galatians. When you have hard feelings about the Torah always remember the words of our Messiah, our ultimate teacher: Do not think that I come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. Build your understanding of the Scriptures on that and you’ll get a new light of Paul’s (difficult) writings

Animal sacrifices were being done in the time of Cain and Abel, so it’s not something that just sprang up out of nowhere. It’s even seen in the Passover on Exodus 14, before the golden calf incident

The Torah is part and parcel of the gospel of the kingdom. Nothing unclean and no one who practices abomination and lying can ever enter the new Jerusalem (Revelation 21:27). This is the kind of circular reasoning that makes Paul’s writings so difficult to understand. At the end of the day we are not justified by the perfection of our accomplishment of the Law but by the merits of Messiah. But if we truly believe in Messiah we must walk in his footsteps and live obediently as he lived. What I’m saying is that ‘not being justified by the Law’ does not means ‘reject it, forget it, destroy it’. After believing in Jesus, Paul did not abandon the ways of the Torah. That would be weird as Jesus’ ways are the ways of the Torah. That idea of rejecting it is mostly a later intellectual adding by Luther and other theologians, it’s just dark stuff.
Imagine this situation, someone tells a foreign National: obeying the laws of our country does not grant you citizenship. There is a specific procedure for that. And the person understands: ok this must mean that all the laws of the country are abolished then😂😂

The Mosaic Law is subsumed by the Law of Christ. So, I don't reject, forget or destroy the Law, it's that the practice of the old covenant was God's witness of his chosen and their inability to keep it, an attempt at satisfying righteousness before God that is lived out as burdensome, and hence the need for a better covenant. The Law of Christ, not written on tablets of stone but on the hearts of men.
How is that dark stuff? It is light, liberation brought by Christ to live righteousness in us, setting me free from the bondage of the Law. It's the provision of a means by which we are better able to keep and obey the laws of the country and be ambassadors of a new law. We are to walk in the spirit and to not fulfill the desires of the flesh and the Holy Spirit enables us to far exceed the Law God gave as the old covenant. Paul would have no imperative to stop practicing the ways of the Torah as was his Jewish custom and discipline. But Paul himself taught that Christ has brought a better, a greater covenant.

Why are the 10 commandments called the law of Moses when it was written by Go himself even after the first stones broke. God could not delegate the rewriting of the commandments. I therefore call the 10 commandments the law of God compared to the laws that were written by Moses which I call of Moses. God even calls the Sabbath "the Sabbath of the Lord your God in exodus 20

Every other Prophet we shall listen to in virtue of the word of Moses:
(Deut 18:15-19) "A prophet like me will the LORD, your God, raise up for you from among your own kindred; that is the one to whom you shall listen." So a prophet after Moses cannot contradict Moses (which would oppose the reason we shall listen to him) and shall also come from the people of Moses.
Therefore Jeez who tells to abolish the laws of Moses is not to be followed. and Mohamed is even not from the people of Moses, and makes his own law...

That person is wrong and simply imposing their later conceptual framework of "moral law" onto the text of Matthew 5:17-20. A straightforward reading of the text is clear: not an "iota or dot" has passed from the Law.

Leviticus 19:33-34
And if a stranger sojourn with you in your land you shall not vex him.

And in leviticus 19:18 you shall not avenge nor bear any grudge against the children of your people but you shall love your neighbour as yourself.
☝️ is literally what the messiah was referencing when the lawyer asked him which is the greatest commandment in the law . Not the commandment in his law . Plus the word law in hebrew is torah which can mean law but can also mean instruction . Put it together you have the instructions of christ and while he did say love one another as I have loved you . Exactly. Hence, Jesus saying "You have heard it said an eye for an eye, but *I* tell you.....etc.
The law of Moses is the letter of the law.
Jesus taught the Spirit of the law, which gets to the heart of the matter. Divorce was permitted under Moses for almost any reason due to the hardness of their hearts.
Jesus teaches that divorce should only be done under limited conditions because marriage points to the greater mystery of Christ's relationship with the church, as Paul teaches in Ephesians.
The law of Moses permits one to seek justice/Vengeance suffered.
Jesus teaches us to commit all judgment to God, and be willing to suffer wrong for righteousness sake. He teaches us to turn the other cheek, give two cloaks, etc.
These were not part of the letter of the law in Moses.
But mainly, Jesus teaches grace rather than law and judgment. For example, the woman taken in adultery. When Jesus was suffering and dying on the cross, He didn't call out for wrath, retribution and judgment. He said Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

I want to say that I know what Solberg means by a double-minded approach. I do think that this particular criticism is appropriate. But it is a specific issue that can happen no matter what one’s theological paradigm. It is not a useful argument to throw out the baby with the bath water.
Some do become so hyper-focused on “doing” Torah that they lose their focus on Messiah. They forget to worship Messiah receiving and giving mercy for those who are yet to fully understand why Torah is important.
It is akin to those who become so hyper focused on grace that they don’t emphasize accountability to the truth.
Or like some who become hyper-focused on the book of revelation so that they forget the teachings of Yeshua for day to day life. They forget the importance of sanctification and sharing the gospel.
Often when we become overly focused, we forget fellowship in the bond of love with those who may truly be trusting in Gods mercy and receiving His grace yet have not fully recognized the beauty of Torah. I have stumbled in this area myself but my sinning in this way does not release me from what I know is true.
Don’t get me wrong, I believe Torah is a “should” and not merely an invitation, but I am not sure that we will convince them without a merciful loving approach.
They must see our love of Messiah and the mercy of God toward them as we hold tight to what we know is true for sanctification.
Our calling is not easy. You have done a beautiful job David. Let us all pursue the truth in light of Gods mercies.
We must remember that such were some of us.

Of course! Yeshua and His followers succeeded in following both, did they not? Rob apparently thinks Yeshua did not follow Moses, but the New Testament disagrees with that view.
Rob argues that Yeshua DiD AWAY with the Aaronic Priesthood by introducing a “Better Priesthood” - scripture does not agree with that. The destruction of the Temple in 70AD interrupted the Aaronic Priesthood, certainly, but according to Ezekiel that priesthood will function on earth once again.
There are deeper issues at stake, like Psalm 89:34 “My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone forth out of My mouth.” God’s perfect Torah cannot get more perfect - there’s nothing wrong with the Torah. While the New Testament unfolds delightful insights into the plans and purposes of God, it in no way puts down the Torah.

Why didn't the apostles care that Titus wasn't circumcised

Paul, like other Jews (e.g., Josephus), was against anyone being "compelled" to become circumcised. Paul's opponents believed that Gentiles must become Jews to be saved, and that was believed to happen through circumcision (e.g., Acts 15:1). During the Hasmonean period, circumcision began to be associated with conversion to Judaism. And by the first century, circumcision was synonymous with Jewish identity and had evolved into the ritual symbolizing the culmination of the conversion process for males. Paul opposed adult Gentile males undergoing this rite with the intention to become "Jewish" because it implied that God saved only Jews on the basis of their Jewish identity, which is a false gospel. In contrast to the idea that salvation is available only to Jews (whether one is born Jewish or converts later), the apostles taught that a person is saved because of their faith in the Messiah. While the apostles opposed the idea that Gentiles needed to become Jews to be saved, they did not oppose the idea that Gentiles should learn and do the Torah. In fact, according to Acts 15:21, the apostles expected Gentile believers to attend synagogue services every Sabbath to hear the Torah preached. Now, whether the Torah applies to Gentiles in all the same ways that it applies to Jews is a matter of debate, but the New Testament is clear that Jewish and Gentile believers have much more in common than not in terms of the Law.

The "613" enumeration is a later tradition, fwiw. But in any case, in addition to the laws that all Christians believe we should keep (e.g., nine of the Ten Commandments, care for the widow and orphan, love your neighbor, etc.), I think we should also keep the 4th of the Ten Commandments (rest on the Sabbath), the food laws (Leviticus 11), the festivals (Leviticus 23), among a few others. From what I’ve seen in some of his videos, it has to have been explicitly restated by Jesus or the apostles in the New Testament to be “The Law of Christ”. By explicitly, I mean, it has to say it verbatim. When it was pointed out to him that commandments pertaining to beastiality are not explicitly restated in the New Testament, he states that it falls under sexual immorality, which is indeed explicitly condemned in the New Testament. The problem with this is, we would have to turn to the Old Testament to define what sexual immorality is.

Truly, Exodus 19:5-6 was not fulfilled in the Law given through Moses, simply because only the tribe of Levi were the priesthood (Numbers 3; Hebrews 7:11). In the Old Testament (Tanakh) the nation of Israel w/ all twelve tribes was not a kingdom of priests. You are in the spirit of error. Repent.

You don't continue in sin because you've been forgiven but rather try your best not to sin again. The Torah was the law, is the law and will be the law in the millennial kingdom. No, Christians don't believe the Torah's capital punishment laws are applicable today. We believe we should obey God's other laws that DO apply today though. What are you referring to as law of Moses? Because Old Testament laws are also traditions of man as Jesus stated. But, if you follow Jesus, you won't break the 10 commandments. But, you won't do animal sacrifice for sins and illnesses. The laws were physical that was a shadow of the spiritual. Paul did the Nazarite offering to appease the Jewish leaders. A sin offering does go against the sacrifice of Jesus. I will just follow Jesus and not worry about the law of Moses. If you follow Jesus you can't go wrong. Plain and simple. I don't agree either of you. New Testament means Old Testament mean Old testament is pasted away. Jesus brought a New Covenant. Old has pasted away.
