Kanami Tono wrote and composed the song Sense for the anime opening for"Platinum End". And they planned a USA tour in 2022 no dates set yet. They do mix Japanese and English in their songs. The majority of the lyrics are written by the founder and rhythm guitar player Miku Kobato. Great reaction 👍👍
BAND-MAID is killer! My favorite song by them is probably Manners which is a newer song that came out in the beginning of 2021 and is part of the Unseen World album.
This song was used as an intro for the anime Platinum End. The song came out Oct 26th.The visuals of the MV with the wings, feathers, crystal (arrows), really make _sense_ from that standpoint.
BAND-MAID uses a mix of English and Japanese throughout their songs.

This song "SENSE" was written and composed by BAND-MAID as the theme song of the anime "Platinum End".
"Platinum End" is a story that when a god changes, 12 god candidates are selected as angels and fight, and the last one left is the god.
The 12 god candidates fight with wings that can fly faster than light, a red arrow that grabs the heart, and a white arrow that destroys everything.
The wings that appear in the "SENSE" Music Video are conscious of the wings of the god candidate, and the spotlight represents the arrow of the god candidate.
If you listen again with such background knowledge, you can understand the goodness of this song further with the playing technique of BAND-MAID.
I should add, they are supposed to go on tour here in the US sometime this year (dates not announced). I guess this depends on Covid.

Will you be going to see them Shreddawg or will it depend on where in the States they tour? Now we've relaxed all Covid restrictions in England i know they'll announce some London dates at some point :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 Honestly depends if im in Japan or not LOL. I know for sure they will come to LA. Ill probably be taking a month long vacation to Japan in the fall assuming they are open for travel. I know Japan just started to loosen restrictions so we'll see. :)

Yeah I hope I get to see them here too! If not... I mean like Ive said before... I might just have to take a trip to Japan just to see them. Would be an expensive trip but totally worth it im sure :P
as an old boomer passionate about all kinds of music, I must admit that the Band-Maid has awakened in me the ancient emotions of the old super bands of the 70s and 80s.
In my opinion, they are the best rock band in the male or female world today.
Band-Maid is made up of the best rock musicians you can find today, Akane as a drummer is extraordinary in technique and originality, Misa on bass is currently unmatched.
Kanami as a lead guitar and composer is at an absolute level.
Miku has amazing rhythm guitar and a very sweet second voice.
Saiki is a crazy singer with almost impossible intonation (seen live) and a true queen of the stage in concert, second to none.
It must also be said that Band-Maid has composed more than 100 songs all at a high level, in just 8 years, something that no band has ever been able to do in the whole history of rock.
I saw them three times in concert it was always a real shock, a storm of sound, emotions and good music, they are today the best you can find.
I have been following this band since January 2018. The release of Alone made me a fan. It was their first original composition being written, arranged, produced and performed by the band which has been the rule since then. Seeing them perform at the Echoplex in LA September 30, 2019 made me a Maidiac. They will be touring the country later this year. Miku's patented concept of the gap is still as effective today as it was when she put the band together. You see them for the very first time and you immediately form ideas based solely on the visual and then they proceed to blow all of those expectations out of the water. And that teaches a valuable life lesson. Never assume. And never form an opinion until you get the facts. ALL of them. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.
Thank you for reacting to Band-Maid. I used to be a Dream Theater fan since Images and Words from 1992. I found Band-Maid in March 2021 and immediately knew I'd found gold. I have all their releases on CDs, DVDs, BRs, EPs and Singles. They are absolutely amazing musicians and great composers as well, Kanami is the main composer with input from all members. Miku is the main lyricist with input from Saiki the lead singer, on the B-side to Sense you will find Corallium with lyrics written solely by Saiki :-) Their musical skills are fantastic and off the chart, all of them contribute and play like one for all and all for one, they form a symbiosis like never seen before in hard rock and metal bands.
This song came out as the lead track of a three song single in October 2021. The other songs are Hibana and Corallium. They don't have music videos but they are also great. Hibana was written for an e-sports competition and is very fun.
They have announced a US tour for this year! Looking forward to it. Band-Maid is awesome! Thanks for the reaction.

I also agree with your comment that videos are cool when they just show the band members playing their instruments. The reason why that can be true is when the players are as good as these ladies. For new listeners they almost need to see it to believe it honestly.

Band-Maid is extremely talented and considered one of the best hard rock bands in the world. My favorite song Hmmm i love all their songs " The Non-Fiction Days" is in the top five songs and " Blooming" is my favorite MV . Thanks Great Reaction/New Subscriber =)

Yup they mix quite a lot of english words / lines into their songs- partly for the international people but mainly for the different sounds. Apparently japanese isnt very conducive to rock style singing in the first place because of its structure and word length / sounds- the main lyricist sometimes abbreviates japanese words ive heard, to make them fit a song so ive heard sometimes it can be a bit hard to understand every lyric even for japanese people- so another way around that issue is using a couple of English words that may be shorter or just have a more suitable sound etc. So a lot of thought goes into when to use English. Some songs have/need almost no English, some have quite a bit.
And in case you didnt know English is used a lot in Japan anyway- they all learn the basics in school and you will see a lot of single (or a couple) of English words in use in signs etc and quite a bit of it that all/most Japanese people would know the meaning of (only the odd single words- most cant 'speak' english at all or a little very broken english.) But just to say English is to some small degree a part of Japanese life anyway.
BAND-MAID's music video is cool, I like this song too.
There are many great music videos such as DICE, Warning, Daydreaming etc. etc.
However, they are known for their great live performances.
Next I strongly recommend Domination live, Freedum live, Onset live, etc.
Experience great crowd intaraciton at Domination live, intense drums at Freedum live, and instrumental awesomeness at Onset live.

This was a single and is the opener for an anime but if you like this one you're going to adore their latest album called unseen world. As to their lyrics they are mostly in Japanese but they will throw English in now and then and they even throw in some sing-along parts that are not in any language so when they tour the whole crowd can sing along. They should be touring the United States this year coronavirus not withstanding and their concerts are going to be more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Although whoever decided that a barrel of monkeys sounded like fun is probably sick in the head. It might be Gary. 😉
