This video saved me from having to replace my dryer. We couldn't reach anyone for repair, and we use our dryer daily. Because of its age, I was about to go to the Big Box and buy a new one, when I figured it couldn't hurt to watch a video or two. Luckily for me, I landed on yours. A fifteen dollar part (and about 90 minutes) later, we are back in business. So grateful to you for your careful, step-by-step instructions. (A belt replacement, by the way - the "Fits most Whirlpool 27-inch dryer" belt)
This video was very helpful. The f01 code I found to be more of a PC Board Design Issue , the pad on the pc board was burnt considerably . I cleand the pc board and cleard away about a 1/4" of the copper trace and connected a short piece of 18 gauge straping wire around the Relay post and ran it down the trace and soldered it back up . cleaned the carbon arc marks on the inside of the white plastic housing and re-installed it back in the dryer . No parts needed just a PC Board Fix . Dryer working fine now . I used Brake clean and a small paint brush to clean up the housing worked very good and did not attack the the plastic . Thanks for the excellent video .
The hardest part of replacing my belt pulley and roller wheels was finding a video of the same model Duet Dryer that i had. Thank you for posting this, it made disassembly and reassembly a breeze!
What model is this? My wife just texted me saying the dryer won’t spin and smelled like burnt rubber so I’m thinking I need to replace the belt. Did you have a similar issue? I’m not home to find the exact model of mine but it does look exactly like the one in this video.
Just replaced the belt, tensioner roller, and drum rollers with the help of this video. Along with cleaning it out, it runs smoother than ever. This helped a lot figuring it out. Thanks.
Thanks for taking the time to make the video. It was a big help. I'm not sure I could have done the job without it. It was very thorough and precise. Exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Thank you SO MUCH, Steve! I had the dryer halfway apart but could not figure out how to detach the control panel. Was ready to either call a repairman or get out the 2 pound ball peen hammer :-). Your video saved the day; was able to replace the belt and tension pulley, now it's running great. Thanks again!
Great video, a big help, thanks. The metal clips around the cowl were the big problem for me. It may have been previously removed by a former owner but the barbs seemed slightly bent and half the clips snapped off their permanent mounts in the cowling when I removed it. I was able to snap them back in place but they came off again when I tried to snap it back in place, with several of them lodged in the collar around the door. So I had to half-disassemble the whole machine again to get those out. Superglued them to the cowling but a few still broke free when I tried to install it, so I decided to just live with a somewhat loose cowling. But I was able to replace the tension pulley and stop the squeak.
That front panel was a goner for me, those clips are terrible, but got to the idler eventually, replaced the wheel and some drum wheels as well. Had to do redo the f01 solder job again and all was good. This really was super helpful
I have a Whirlpool compact front load dryer model WED7500VW that I need to change the start capacitor and do not know how to get to it. Front panel screws are too close to the drum to unscrew and back panel supports the drum. Any ideas?
The best studio tear down I have seen but there are several mistakes. Too bad they didn’t go through and correct them. I can work up an error list later maybe.

That's my issue, too... there's apparently like three/six different models of "Duet" out there.

Same with me. Man it was a bear working on it with my bad back and it’s a stackable one at that, but this video saved the day for me too!
Best video to help fix my squeaking dryer!!

Thank you so much for this very helpful video. Our dryer suddenly stopped last week and we were able to fix it ourselves.
Thanks to your video I was able to take apart my dryer so that I could replace some parts & put it back together successfully! Thanks so much!!!!

Great video, but it would have been good to see how to put it together again, how to get the right cables on the right place and so on..
Thanks much!
Thanks!!! worked like a charm!
Thank you thank you thank you!
I have searched all over for how to do this with a gas dryer. I don't understand why this is so hard.
Very informative!
Very much appreciated!
Great job very helpful video.
You forgot the 2 screws on the inside of the door assembly. But still a good video. Do you have a trouble shooting the sensors, thermostats video?
First step of dissassembly - pull the plug or flip the breaker off to disconnect the 220V power.
great video. Thanks
Now, I can do it myself and no need for technician.
Very helpful, thanks!
Wow
Thank you
So helpful
Awesome!
How do you unplug the black terminals?
On a Whirlpool dryer, Model WED955WL2, does it matter which side of the drum faces the front?
Is there a way to just remove the back panel? I'm asking because I'd like to do a shot with the film camera looking out through the front glass.
I have a Whirlpool compact front load dryer model WED7500VW that I need to change the start capacitor and do not know how to get to it. Front panel screws are too
close to the drum to unscrew and back panel supports the drum. Any ideas?
Can I replace the thermal heater fuse by tremoving the lower door and blower housing?
Usually. It's right in the front. Just know though that when one blows, its usually better to replace all of the thermal parts at once.
The best studio tear down I have seen but there are several mistakes. Too bad they didn’t go through and correct them.
I can work up an error list later maybe.
No mistakes on my teardown other than a couple extra screws holding in the bottom panel. Maybe your model just differs.
Agree, it most likely depends on the model. All steps were right on for me, except two extra screws holding up the front.
Depends on if you have gas or electric and what year or model your dryer is.
What about the top
I need to find out what size the screws are at the bottom of the front panel. Does anyone know?
I'm looking for the same thing. Did you figure out?

What a useless video. Just got to the part I was stuck on and she skips right to “got it all back together “
No it wasn’t! No one shows how that tab on the heating coil housing goes back in! Errrrrr!!!!
