The OST for JFG was a staggering achievement for its time, it actually went above the game itself and raised the immersion experience to a new level on par with the best games of the modern age.

Those are good quality of life improvements through at least.
The entire soundtrack to this game is absolutely stunning. When this came out in 1999 my friends thought I was crazy when I told them it was better than GoldenEye. Granted, I might have been wrong about that, but JFG was one of the most epic/grand scale gaming moments my best friend and I had. There needs to be more single player co-op games like this. Eventually I did buy it but it was easily one of the court tenants of my love for games and music as I grew older. And it makes my heart swell seeing so many people with the same experience.
No video game out there has the quality in every one of its tracks like this game did. The music team did phenomenal and this game was so under the radar it should have been a series. This remaster is incredible!
Thank you Robin and the rest of the composers over at RARE that gave us some of the most memorable game soundtracks of the 90's. These works are your greatest legacy and will always be a part of us.

Thank you for this! JFG definitely doesn't get the love it deserves from other RARE fans. Makes you wonder how many people have actually seen the ending to JFG.
I don't know how many hours I've played this game. Maybe 100? In Singleplayer and Multiplayer. I seemingly have the tradition to restart the game every few years and I've yet to see the ending. I think the last time I was pretty close to it.
1:18:37 Whenever I played that level I always felt like I hadn't completed it, I always felt empty, the sound of pickaxe hitting rocks in the music made me feel like there were still tribals somewhere I needed to rescue, and it broke my heart I couldn't find them.

29:17 I was always in awe of Mizar's Palace for both the level's music and its graphics. The intense strings, percussion, and choir is epic. The reflections on the ground in front of the palace looks super impressive for an N64 game. IDK what kind of trick they did to pull that off, maybe a geometry flip. I like the skybox too with the planet off in the distance. So much detail for an N64 game, and a unique atmosphere, and the music immerses you even further into the game. I always hated when those big dudes with rocket launchers would sit at the top and shoot me though, haha.
All of the cut scene music for Mizar's palace is sooo good too! Especially the one where the pyramid is landing and when Juno first enters the pyramid.
I think part of why I love that cut scene so much is because of how the music works so well with what the inside of the pyramid looks like. Rare did such a good job with their texture work on the N64. They knew how to start with 3D models and work from there.
Literally thought about looking up a remaster of this before I fell asleep last night. Woke up had the goldwood theme stuck in my head and BAM! Seen your remaster and oh my god I love it! Well done I must say!

It's supposed to be a spiritual sequel. I don't really see much of JFG in it, aside from some of the assets used, but I want to give it a try once it goes on sale.
Probably my favorite track as well, but it's tough to choose just one. Eschebone definitely has the right "space epic" sound to it. The theme from J.J. Abrams' Star Trek movie(s) reminded me of the same feeling I get when listening to the Eschebone theme. Listening to them again side-by-side, it almost sounds like Michael Giacchino could have used the track as reference. He probably didn't..... or did he?🤔

@@TwoZeroOfficial That song is so good. Part of me wants to hear it without the mining sound effects, but the other part of me feels like it would be too different without them.

Dunno if I said this already at some point, but I appreciate the fact that you made it sound almost EXACTLY like the originals, just in drastically higher quality. Most remaster projects drastically change the way the track sounds, just keeping the original melody. This music sounds like it could have been uncompressed archives of the original, which is a compliment :p
Thank you, although you’re giving me a bit too much credit. I didn’t remake the music, just remastered the original tracks. But thank you all the same.
Holy shit! This audio quality is incredible! The original was already amazing, especially for it's time but this is outstanding! My absolute love for this game and soundtrack and the CLEAR effort put into this remaster is literally making me tear up. Hearing this on my Z906 is absolute audio bliss! Listen to this on an SRS system people.
Why did it take me so long to find this? Never knew this existed, always listened to the original OST... and this is even better than the original OST, great work!
Still remember being scared shitless , while at the same time having the most fun ive ever had playing a video game with my older brother running co-op through the misty zombie level. One of my favorite memories ❤️💛💚 much love from Florida man, thank you for this 💪🙏🙏🙏
The music and sound effects really add a lot to the atmosphere of the game. It definitely matches the epic sci-fi vibe that the gameplay and the graphics give off.
I always thought it was so strange that the Goldwood theme played the sound of crickets the entire time. It's a weird combination of ambient and out of place.
My dad bought this game for me back in 2005-2006, but man did I put hundreds of hours in this game despite being late to the party, i was 6 years old and my dad liked to play it with me too (or his own save file too!), it was fun and it always relives those childhood memories, we used to call the game "Robot Kid" because Juno looked extremely young in the cartridge art lol
But I’m glad they did. Possibly one of the greatest soundtracks in video game history, and not a lot of people played this masterpiece. What a shame. This is one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had.
@@petercarpio389agreed. This soundtrack was absolutely perfect. I’ll never forget the hours I spent on this game as a kid. Great memories! Such a good game.

This soundtrack is completely without equal on the 64 in its scope, power, and melody.
I've said many times that I think this is the best OST on the N64. I just don't know how Rare got these sounds to come out of the N64 audio hardware and fit it on the cartridge.

Listening to them again side-by-side, it almost sounds like Michael Giacchino could have used the track as reference. He probably didn't..... or did he?🤔
Im so glad the person who posted this put images up with the OST cause i forgot what Eschebone looked like haha MAN the memories are flowing!
Gives me chills it's so good. Games were so good when we were kids.
Very well done! I loved the game as a child and still think about the lasting impact it has had on my life. Always loved the music and now I can enjoy it even more thanks to all of your hard work on this project. Thank you!!
Rare in the SNES and N64 era was simply on another level, the music was no exception
18:04 best track imo
When you think of JFG, this is the song and this is the level.
one of the best soundtracks on the N64 10/10
I wholeheartedly agree! I think Eshebone might BE the best song on the N64.
@@GEMGaming_yt my personal fave is the water ruins
@@TwoZeroOfficial That song is so good. Part of me wants to hear it without the mining sound effects, but the other part of me feels like it would be too different without them.
This is awesome! Such a good game. The space station legit use to creep me out the muse for it was a great touch lol
SS Anubis was awesome
I would say this is one of the best soundtracks for any game ever. Also an everyday played game of my childhood. It definitly brought me to orchestral music for my life. Thank you so much for this!
I fully think this is THE best soundtrack on the N64. I'm still wondering how they got the sounds of a FULL ORCHESTRA to come out of the N64.
@@GEMGaming_yt And the game its self isnt a smal one either.
Awesome! This is one of my favorite games and soundtracks.
I just subscribed to your Patreon.
I sent you a message on Patreon, but I'll say here again. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
aaaa thank you so much for making this !!!! i absolutely loved this game and it's soundtrack. i keep coming back to listen to this, since it helps me focus on my homework and stuff !!! this is seriously helping me get through school right now, and for that, i give you my sincerest thanks !!!!
Of course! Thank you for listening and I'm really glad it's helping you with your homework. :)
This game was Brilliant!! 👌
Very cool, amazing to see others have the same love for this soundtrack. One of the best in all of gaming honestly.
I honestly think this is the best soundtrack overall on the N64.
That character select music pumps me the F up!!!
@@GEMGaming_yt oh, I thought they were from scratch, either way they sound great
La música de este videojuego es de lo más envolvente que hay. Ojalá se haga un remaster algún día.
Una orquesta real!!! Sehkmet escucharla en metales y percusiones reales sería Epico!
Might be the best soundtrack for one of the best games on N64. The sense of adventure that this game gave is unmatched! And so is the nostalgia..
I think this is absolutely the best soundtrack from the N64 library.
In the top 3 games for the N64 imho
@@iampierre86 Same here Paul! Rare's underrappreciated (kinda, sales were low) masterpiece.
Hope this gem comes to nintendo switch online! This was an awesome game!
Thank you so much. I bet it sounds GREAT on a surround sound system!
@@GEMGaming_yt Highly suggest it!
thanks for bring me back memories from my childhood,my fav place to live if i could would be walkway planet
If you like Water Ruin you should check out this orchestral remake -> ruclips.net/video/gKe4mAfFeKQ/видео.html
Best game soundtrack of all time.
I have to agree with you
Why did it take me so long to find this? Never knew this existed, always listened to the original OST... and this is even better than the original OST, great work!
Thank you!
Still remember being scared shitless , while at the same time having the most fun ive ever had playing a video game with my older brother running co-op through the misty zombie level. One of my favorite memories ❤️💛💚 much love from Florida man, thank you for this 💪🙏🙏🙏
Impresionante trabajo, este juego tiene un soundtrack espectacular!!!
The music and sound effects really add a lot to the atmosphere of the game. It definitely matches the epic sci-fi vibe that the gameplay and the graphics give off.
One of my favorites moments is once you get a bunch of upgrades to the machine gun and you can hold the trigger down. The sound it makes is sooo good.
GEM Gaming Oh. The sound on the machine gun changes if you upgrade it?! Or are you just talking about the extra ammo capacity increases?
GEM Gaming I love the sound of the machine gun too. It is such a satisfying sound, and then hearing the drones squeal. LOL
@@darknightmike10yearsago I mean that if you upgrade the ammo capacity, you can hold the trigger down for a lot longer.
GEM Gaming Oh. I see what you mean.
God tier soundtrack
Thank you so much for all your hard work and effort. I still love this game and the soundtrack.
It's amazing how much of these samples were later reused in Conker's BFD soundtrack......
they sound almost the same, except few parts....
I miss my childhood,i was happy.
I was happy when I was playing games. :)
7:12 If I ever go to a jungle someday, this is going to be the music that plays in my head.
I always thought it was so strange that the Goldwood theme played the sound of crickets the entire time. It's a weird combination of ambient and out of place.
@@GEMGaming_yt Oh yeah. That’s true. I’m not sure if crickets belong in a jungle.
SS Anubis is my fav level and love the music
My favorite level is Eschebone. I honestly think the music for that level is the best song in the entire library of N64 games.
Playing tawfret late at night as a kid tho
Way creepy.
When I think about it, playing as Floyd was the closest we ever got to a Second Person Shooter.
Been playing Rare Replay and this game really was awesome, odd it never got a sequel.
the way you compared it at the beginning is really cool, nice work man
Sounds great and I love that you put a pic that supposed to go with the theme 🙏🏾
Holy hell I haven't heard this in over 20 years! Ah the nostalgia...
Dude.. Thank you. This means the world to me.
They did not have to go THIS hard!!! 🤯
I remember the first time I rented this from Blockbuster. The overture, the dire straits of the intro, and then the haunting Character Select march alone were enough to induce my first experience with ASMR goosebumps. This soundtrack is completely without equal on the 64 in its scope, power, and melody.
I've said many times that I think this is the best OST on the N64. I just don't know how Rare got these sounds to come out of the N64 audio hardware and fit it on the cartridge.
@@GEMGaming_yt History is never without wizards, and the composer(s) here was no exception.
Just an amazing track. Could you imagine a modernized reboot with updated movement, aiming, and graphics. How amazing would a sequal that offered a vast world and new story line with a tighter more fast paced combat experience
That would be amazing!
i like the auto aiming for this game lol it helps me actually.
