Echoes is my favourite game of the whole Metroid franchise. I love the darker lore and tone they took. I believe it is one of the most underrated. I just wish they port it to the Switch. I want a legal and easy way to play this game.
I played both Prime 1 and 2 on the Gamecube, but never got to play the 3rd one due to it being on a different console at the time. I agree that Prime 2: Echoes is darker and better than Prime 1 in both game and soundtrack, in my opinion. I will wait for the Prime trilogy to go on the Switch, or might just do a Primehack for PC.
They are the two best games I've ever played. Prime 1 had more impact on me as a 12-13 year old kid, but prime 2 was probably the better game. I too wish to play em again on the Switch.

Ever since I discovered Metroid Dread, I was going through a rabbit hole of the Metroid franchise and came to your channel. You litterly came in clutch. Your metroid prime OST has help me study for one of my classes that I'm retaking.
I'm glad to see people falling into the wonderful rabbit hole that is the Metroid franchise. I've been a fan since my age was in the single digits, but I never actually went and played through every single game until the beginning of 2022 or so. Before then, I had only played Prime 1, parts of Prime 2 and 3, and Super Metroid (for some reason I skipped around a lot as a kid). I already loved it as a kid, but now im a bigger fan than ever. Seeing other people fall in love with the series means the world to me.
As a kid, the first metroid game was basically a random purchase from me, i knew nothing about the metroid series at that point. It became one of my favorite games, and echoes became one of my favorite sequels. Thanks for the upload!
I usually just listen to the OST but the fact you have the waveform and video of gameplay behind the re-mastered music is just an awesome touch. There are lots of channels on here with OST content that don't put that level of work in, I see you.

Metroid Prime 2 remains my absolute favorite game since I was a kid, and you've done such a great remastering to an already incredible OST. If Retro ever gets the opportunity to do an official remaster, I don't think they have to look far for the soundtrack remixes. 😊
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is forever and always my favorite 3D Metroid title, tied with Fusion as my favorite Meteoid title of all time. Thanks for all the wonderful memories.
for me it's Prime 1 (also probably my favorite game of all time overall), and Zero Mission (fusion is a close second though, and I'm still working through Super Metroid for the first time and loving it so that could end up toping fusion. we'll see)
Sorry, I have replies turned off, so I missed this. There's a few reasons why I love Fusion. - The horror focus. Its a direct reminder of the reality of Samus' life and usual experiences, as well as of the inspiration behind Metroid as a whole. - Its fluid gameplay, which completely blew its precursor titles out of the water. It was also on my favorite handheld system. - I genuinely adore the "show, don't tell" mentality that most Metroid games do, but the story of Fusion as the (formerly) final entry in the series was very fitting for me. Of course, Other M put a HUGE dent in that, but I view that game as non-canon, anyway.
1:29:25 - this music makes being underwater with no gravity suit a bit more bearable. Actually, it makes everything more bearable. And I love the fact that I get to hear it for 8.5 minutes in this soundtrack.
My favorite game of all time! I was mindblown by Prime 1 but this game just felt like exactly what I wanted. Awesome puzzles, great combat, awesome gameplay, ahhh I love this game so much and you certainly did a really good job on the remaster!
so. fun story. when I got Metroid Prime 1, it came with a demo disc of Prime 2. my mom takes my bros and I to Hollywood Video to rent some games for the weekend. I rent Prime 2. and I accidentally swapped the disc's. we move to Kansas not a week later. I go to show my new neighbor the demo, only to realize that I've swapped disc's. I'm heart broken. I panic and tell my mom crying, she says it's not a problem. I still have that game 14 years later lol
This game and Metroid Zero mission are special to me. My love for Metroid started in 2003, that's when I played Super, Fusion, and Prime 1. The next year in 2004 was the first time I could play and buy brand new metroid games, I look back fondly.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your Metroid Prime series mixes (and all your other ones too) - they are genuinely incredible and are definitely the best quality audio of the OSTs out there.... Given the matching gameplay, I can only imagine the amount of time and effort that went into making these! That being said, I've got my fingers selfishly crossed you might end up adding the Metroid Prime 3: Corruption OST to your collection one day too... this is unrelated to the music, but i absolutely LOVE how the sky in Light Aether will occasionally fade to Dark Aether's sky, but the opposite never happens in Dark Aether. it does a spectacular job showing you how hard Light Aether is losing the war.
This is my main channel for OST! This series, this trilogy, this game, is such a masterpiece, you'll feel badass, scared, nostalgic, lonely, but amazed with the mysteries of the universe. As every Metroid game, it is a unique experience to experience it alone.
While there are some obvious bangers in Meteoid Prime 2 such as Torvus Bog, Torvus Catacombs, Temple Grounds, Dark Samus Battle, Emperor Ing, etc. there's just something I adore about Sanctuary Fortress' theme ( 1:52:11 ), I think is the perfect mixing of ambient and melodic, the techno sounds with tribal percussion, and the chants in the background, and that's not even mentioning how visually stunning is that area, I hope Echoes gets the same treatment as Prime Remastered someday, I wantvto see how beautiful this game can look like that.
Huh, I'm playing through Prime 2 for the first time right now. I somehow missed playing it as a kid and honestly, I've never felt dumber as an adult. Prime 1, Super Metroid, Dread, etc all felt very intuitive and natural to progress and even get 100% replaying the ones from decades ago but Prime 2's boss puzzle mechanics simply cannot be brute forced and navigating around gets confusing very quickly since much of it looks the same. It's definitely not my favorite over Prime 1 but Retro did a fantastic job with the music. A bit of old, a bit of new, but nothing feels stale or annoying. The opening theme is just as good as Prime 1's and always gets me hyped for another session of "Where the fuck am I?".
I suffered the same, it literally took me about 2 years to finish Prime 2, because I couldn't found out where I was and where I should be going. I refused to look for answers on the internet, because I like the feeling of accomplish something by myself, especially in games, that's one of the motives why it took so long, but to be honest, I can't hate the game.
Never had any issues with navigation and figuring out where to go and what to do myself, even as a kid. The two bosses that gave me trouble were boost and spider guardians, and not because I didn't know what to do. It was just a skill issue, my tiny little child baby hands were incapable of playing good enough back then, so it took a fair few deaths. With the boost it was mostly that I entered morphball whenever he did, which is totally unnecessary and makes it much harder to dodge his boosts. In terms of getting lost, only thing I can remember is in the beginning of the game it took some map consulting to realize which portals I needed to enter to explore certain areas and find the temple keys. Afterwards it was pretty good at funneling me in the right directions.

Fun to test new audio equipment with these remasters, I played the crap out of prime 1 and 2 as a kid and I've been burnt out on it for a while, but reliving it through the music is awesome, can't wait for prime 4

Yeah, and I apologize for the footage during the multiplayer songs. That wasn't included in the 16 hour long playthrough provided by SuperMetalDave64, so I recorded it emulated on my PC. And I had nobody to play against me, so it's just me running around and killing the braindead second player. 😆
I remember this game terrified me as a kid. And when you got to Dark Agon Waste? Forget about it. Especially since I played it on an extremely old crt TV with the gamma all the way down. To put it another way i couldn't see shit
Ohhhhhh myyyyy gooooooooooosh. I've always adored Submerged Temple/Torvus Catacombs. I would often just pull up a 10 hour loop of it to study or program to. I thought your Metroid Prime remaster was good but that doesn't even compare! I could sit and listen to this version of Submerged Temple for days! Bravo! I sincerely hope you do Prime 3 sometime in the future, I feel that has more potential than even Prime 1 did.

This OST is what a Saturday morning was to me: wake up early, start a game of Echoes, go outside to play Pokemon or Yugioh with my childhood friends, make some comics or draw a bit - and close the night with more Metroid - provided it was before 12 or 1AM. On the weekends I had more leniency with gaming and could play the Gamecube at later hours than I could during school days which was fine. If I couldnt sleep, I had that DS handy trying to IV train my mons on Leafgreen. Iconic times!!!

If I had to pick 3 games to exemplify why videogames can be art. I would choose Mother 3, Fallout New Vegas and in first place Metroid Prime. Metroid is a masterpiece with no equal. Not even the Halo games can bring this level of experience in a single player game.

Man, Metroid Prime 2 did what Prime 1 failed to do (in my opinion), and that was deliver a truly alien environment to explore. I love the Metroid Prime Trilogy, it's my absolute favorite franchise, and I play Metroid Prime every now and again, but it didn't really capture the alien feel that other 2d Metroid games did. That's what I love so much about Prime 2 and 3. Those games went all out on the unusual, alien-like environment. Sure they weren't as successful as Prime 1, but they feel more like Metroid to me. It could also be a nostalgia thing since I grew up with Metroid Prime 3. I'm curious though, will you make a high quality soundtrack of Metroid Prime 3 like you did the first two?
what we are seeing is footage from a game from 2004. And it looks like it still holds up nowdays. Retro wasn't cooking, they were straight up frying with this game. God willing, he will allow the remastered to flourish along with the first game.

This is gonna sound really lame but I can't tell what's different between this and the original soundtrack. I KNOW that it's different. It sounds really good. There are obvious enhancements to the original that are subtle enough that I can't tell what they are, but whatever they are they sound fantastic. I'm subbing because I really like what I'm hearing, and even though I am too much of an audio ignoramus to know what exactly you've changed to make it sound like this, I do immensely enjoy the final product. :) it was obviously done with a lot of care to make sure it didn't tarnish the original at all. I've listened to your remaster of Kirby 64 and Metroid Prime already, and I feel the same way. I was expecting new arrangements or at least new instruments, as that is the norm for fan-made remasters, but that isn't the case here. Again, I know that it's different, and I am very much enjoying the quality of the sound (excellent), and am looking forward to hearing more from you (will probably check out Starfox Adventures next) but I am quite perplexed as to what exactly you changed from the original. TL;DR: Good music. Liked and subbed.
Lol, it sounds like you fully understand what I'm doing, but you don't realize it. Basically, my goal is to take the original music and perform some processing and filtering to make it sound as good as it possibly can. I don't remake the sounds, nor do I reorchestrate anything. I work with original audio files or rips and basically product the best possible versions of them on RUclips. Really, my audience is people who really love the games and music, as well as audiophiles. One of the next few projects I'll do is a video that explains my process and what my goals are. Many people have the same curiosities as you. I also think people get confused with the word "remaster." Think of the term as it would be applied to a game remaster vs. a game remake. Totally different things. Remaster uses all the original assets and changes almost nothing except making the game look way better while a remake changes as much as possible to bring the game to a different level. I'm doing remasters, not remakes, not reorchestrations, not covers.
After playing thru Prime 1 Remastered, I want to play this game again so badly. I just want to wait for either a port to Switch or a straight up remaster like the first game. My expectations are low but my hopes are High. I love this game, and I want it to get the same love as the first game just did. Please Nintendo. Show my favorite Prime game some love!
Definitely. Also, no Ridley, no Chozo, and the Space Pirates are barely a threat. Very different vibes than the other two Prime games. And very different art direction. I think the artists did an amazing job though,

I find Temple Grounds to be QUITE annoying. I love this game, but I hate how the first two areas of the game are brown dusty canyons.

Yeah, and I apologize for the footage during the multiplayer songs. That wasn't included in the 16 hour long playthrough provided by SuperMetalDave64, so I recorded it emulated on my PC. And I had nobody to play against me, so it's just me running around and killing the braindead second player. 😆

I remember this game terrified me as a kid. And when you got to Dark Agon Waste? Forget about it. Especially since I played it on an extremely old crt TV with the gamma all the way down. To put it another way i couldn't see shit

Ohhhhhh myyyyy gooooooooooosh. I've always adored Submerged Temple/Torvus Catacombs. I would often just pull up a 10 hour loop of it to study or program to. I thought your Metroid Prime remaster was good but that doesn't even compare! I could sit and listen to this version of Submerged Temple for days! Bravo! I sincerely hope you do Prime 3 sometime in the future, I feel that has more potential than even Prime 1 did.

I just hope it doesn't turn into another Skyward Sword situation where we end up getting a mediocre game in the long run due to restarting development from scratch, and then rushing out the door because they kept a fan base waiting for so long.

This OST is what a Saturday morning was to me: wake up early, start a game of Echoes, go outside to play Pokemon or Yugioh with my childhood friends, make some comics or draw a bit - and close the night with more Metroid - provided it was before 12 or 1AM. On the weekends I had more leniency with gaming and could play the Gamecube at later hours than I could during school days which was fine. If I couldnt sleep, I had that DS handy trying to IV train my mons on Leafgreen. Iconic times!!!

If I had to pick 3 games to exemplify why videogames can be art. I would choose Mother 3, Fallout New Vegas and in first place Metroid Prime. Metroid is a masterpiece with no equal. Not even the Halo games can bring this level of experience in a single player game.
Let’s hope in the game awards we get something good for Metroid fans like us! I really hope at least a potter version of Metroid trilogy to be available soon

The opening to this game is bad ass. I just have the trilogy so I’ve never heard it before.
Man, Metroid Prime 2 did what Prime 1 failed to do (in my opinion), and that was deliver a truly alien environment to explore. I love the Metroid Prime Trilogy, it's my absolute favorite franchise, and I play Metroid Prime every now and again, but it didn't really capture the alien feel that other 2d Metroid games did. That's what I love so much about Prime 2 and 3. Those games went all out on the unusual, alien-like environment. Sure they weren't as successful as Prime 1, but they feel more like Metroid to me. It could also be a nostalgia thing since I grew up with Metroid Prime 3.
I'm curious though, will you make a high quality soundtrack of Metroid Prime 3 like you did the first two?

what we are seeing is footage from a game from 2004. And it looks like it still holds up nowdays. Retro wasn't cooking, they were straight up frying with this game. God willing, he will allow the remastered to flourish along with the first game.

This is gonna sound really lame but I can't tell what's different between this and the original soundtrack. I KNOW that it's different. It sounds really good. There are obvious enhancements to the original that are subtle enough that I can't tell what they are, but whatever they are they sound fantastic. I'm subbing because I really like what I'm hearing, and even though I am too much of an audio ignoramus to know what exactly you've changed to make it sound like this, I do immensely enjoy the final product. :) it was obviously done with a lot of care to make sure it didn't tarnish the original at all.
I've listened to your remaster of Kirby 64 and Metroid Prime already, and I feel the same way. I was expecting new arrangements or at least new instruments, as that is the norm for fan-made remasters, but that isn't the case here. Again, I know that it's different, and I am very much enjoying the quality of the sound (excellent), and am looking forward to hearing more from you (will probably check out Starfox Adventures next) but I am quite perplexed as to what exactly you changed from the original.

Lol, it sounds like you fully understand what I'm doing, but you don't realize it. Basically, my goal is to take the original music and perform some processing and filtering to make it sound as good as it possibly can. I don't remake the sounds, nor do I reorchestrate anything. I work with original audio files or rips and basically product the best possible versions of them on RUclips.
Really, my audience is people who really love the games and music, as well as audiophiles.
One of the next few projects I'll do is a video that explains my process and what my goals are. Many people have the same curiosities as you.
I also think people get confused with the word "remaster." Think of the term as it would be applied to a game remaster vs. a game remake. Totally different things. Remaster uses all the original assets and changes almost nothing except making the game look way better while a remake changes as much as possible to bring the game to a different level. I'm doing remasters, not remakes, not reorchestrations, not covers.

After playing thru Prime 1 Remastered, I want to play this game again so badly. I just want to wait for either a port to Switch or a straight up remaster like the first game. My expectations are low but my hopes are High. I love this game, and I want it to get the same love as the first game just did. Please Nintendo. Show my favorite Prime game some love!

Definitely. Also, no Ridley, no Chozo, and the Space Pirates are barely a threat. Very different vibes than the other two Prime games. And very different art direction. I think the artists did an amazing job though,
