  • These are (most of) the interior mods that I've done to NB2 Miata so far. I've also done a leather shift boot, and a TapTurn, but I forgot about those when I recorded. I wish I had remembered them, they are both great. The leather boot feels excellent when you rest your hand on the center console.
    I would still like to do a Team VooDoo shift knob, a glove box light, and some footwell lighting.

    As someone who drives an NA, I’m jealous of the Bose and the speed sensing volume

    If you connect your phone to the Aux, how do you let the sound come out off the stereo? Bought a used NB recently and I'm still trying to figure out how to get the sound into the stereo, any button (even pressing them twice or stuff like that) helped so far. An answer would be tremendous!

      FoxInWhite I had to buy a device that plugs into the back of the stereo. The stereo thinks I've plugged in a remote CD changer, but its really the Bluetooth module. It also has an aux jack, but I don't use it very often. The adapter I bought is the Pure Bluetooth adapter from gtacarkits.com . Its kind of expensive, and it prevents the CD player from working, but it gives you Bluetooth, and let's you keep the original look of the car. I have an android head unit in my other car. That's probably a better stereo, but I think this fits the Miata better.

    Hey dude, could you drop some links in your description for the products that you used, mainly the bluetooth kit that you are using?

      Thecharliejolly for my whole life, I never liked yellow until I saw this yellow on this car.

      Wait. That's not true. I loved the yellow 2002 SV650 too. You can not imagine my disappointment when I went to buy one, and found only the 2003 SV650 was available instead. I loved my 03, but the 02 yellow was so much prettier.

    Why does the fuel gauge suck in the nb?

    • @rajvashi9210
      @rajvashi9210 5 лет назад +5

      Only issues i have with it is that theres no gas light and it takes forever to come up to the right level after filling up

    • @svriderpokey
      @svriderpokey  4 года назад

      I don't know. I didn't build that part. Probably for the same reason the oil pressure gauge sucks in the NB. To save money.

      @@rajvashi9210 I agree. I always use my trip odometer to estimate fuel range. I ride motorcycles too, so I'm used to that.

      OSMAnd. The trial version works perfectly well, but the full version gets you unlimited updates.

    Could you elaborate on how you wired the charge cable to the cell phones? I like the idea of moving the mount to the vent window but as you pointed out, a wire from the interior wouldn't work terribly well. Did you route the wire back into the car through the cable feed into the door or did you tap a power feed separately inside the door?

    • @svriderpokey
      @svriderpokey  7 лет назад

      Taztrophe I ran a wire from the fuse box (with a fuse tap) through the rubber accordion-like sleeve on the driver's side, and from the cigarette lighter on the passenger side. There is a plug at the body end of the sleeve. It required taking the door off to get it unplugged. Once unplugged, there is a small hole in the center of the plug that you can pass a wire through. On one side I used some 18 gauge speaker wire, which was very tight and is very hard to solder without it breaking almost immediately. On the other side I used a round power cord (left over from the radar detector) that's got the ground wire wrapped co-axially around the hot wire. That was much easier to run and to solder. If I were to do it again, I'd use the round wire on both sides, and I'd run them both to the Cigarette Lighter. I didn't see any good way to ground them in the doors, so they are each grounded to a body screw in the foot wells. It was a bit of work, but its so worth it in the long run if you can find, or make a holder that fits.

      Excellent! Thanks for explaining. If I ever get around to it, I plan to add a supplemental power feed for up to four USB devices somewhere low behind the center console to support my dashcam (Mobius) and any cell phone mount points I install. That way the cig lighter in front is free of permanent cables.

    • @svriderpokey
      @svriderpokey  7 лет назад

      Taztrophe I agree. I love having a USB port plugging up the cig lighter, but I hate dangley cords plugged into it. I keep trying to think of a way to get a short cord to the GoPro. BTW, if you permanently install USB cords, get the braided ones. The regular rubber ones can get very gummy in the sun and heat.

    Hi! Can you tell me what kind of phone holder do you use? Maybe a helpful link? :)

    • @svriderpokey
      @svriderpokey  7 лет назад

      csucsul I had to make my phone holders. I found one with a small base, that would fit down in the corner of the window, and another one with a big jaw, that would hold my phone. They both had the same size ball, so I put them together. the small base is weak, and I broke a couple. I had to reinforce the bases with some steel wire, and plastic epoxy to get them to stop breaking off. I'll try post links if I can find them again.
