Half A Million Dollar Skateboard Collection

A SKATEBOARD enthusiast believes he has amassed the world’s largest collection - worth over half a million dollars. Skateboard mega collector Todd Huber estimates he’s spent over $100,000 on boards and related memorabilia - although recent valuations of the collection are more than five times Todd’s original spend. The 51-year-old, originally from San Francisco but now living in Simi Valley, California, had been keeping his collection in a one-car garage - much to his wife’s dismay. The 5,000 skateboards are now housed in a 30,000 square feet warehouse, which also includes a shop, indoor skatepark and, according to Todd, 'the very first Skateboard museum ever in the world'.

I used to live 5 minutes from the Simi Valley Skatelab. And the guy in this video, Todd, was ALWAYS THERE. He was always in the park taking care of it, cruising around, doing the register, etc. I was like 13 years old at the time, I'm 30 now and live in another state. Todd and his face will ALWAYS be ingrained in my head. He was a great dude and nobody better could have ran that park.

I'm 55 now,but I remember skating shady acres skate park in north long beach and the runway skate park next to the goodyear blimp in gardena,not realizing the guys that I was skating with were the Madrid brothers who eventually started a skateboard business..I still have my alva board with tracker xtracs on bones..I bought a skateboard at a yard sale just for wall art..it had original hosoi wheels on a Santa Cruz board that had punkrock stickers all over it.....it brought back memories for me...
