I really hope that guy Jack gets some serious help because if he continues as he is, he's going to be dead sooner rather than later. Placing your hands inside your vest or pockets is a tactical disadvantage.
      You should always be in the interview stance position .
      It's not the amount of time you have worked in the industry.
      But about the principles learnt in your Security course and applying them in the field.

      All these principles contribute to developing a professional foundation and your code of practice.

      This is how you increase your value and rate of income because your image and reputation.
      Is what markets your credibility and integrity.

      I'm a security officer in The Netherlands.
      First rule when stationed infont of a bar/club is;
      1. Do NOT put your hands in your pockets, incase you are being attacked, you're defenseless.
      2. Do not maintain a slouch posture because you're signaling that you carry a lazy/weak mentality.
      3. Keep your hair short incase someone has the idea to pull your hair.
      This is why we here in The Netherlands wear clip ties.
      4. Maintain communication via radio and hand signals.
      5. Last but not least, always have your eyesight on your fellow doorman incase of an emergency.
      There are more rules too it but we're discussing the topic " hands in the pocket".

He is also letting customers put their hands on him and get too "friendly". He is not getting the respect from customers and thats gonna be a problem in a conflict situation. I knew of a local bouncer. Huge, strong guy- good fighter. He kicked out some skinnies. They came back and shot and killed two of the bouncers including him. I knew another bouncer out in Tahoe. He had a bad eye. Popular, Martial Artist, good looking guy otherwise. A drunk at closing time did not want to leave. Threw a broken bottle at him. Tragically, it took out his eye...his good eye. Sad story. He WAS an elite skier- Freestyle. Never the same after.

    The best bouncer I ever saw was in a pretty tough bar in an old part of Columbus Ohio , The bar had about 4 steps down from the main floor, to the side walk and the street ran within 5 feet of the front of the building. I knew the owner and he only had one guy working the door and he was maybe 180 pounds . At 2;00 they called last call , then they started taking drinks at 2:20 and clearing people out . There was a group of 5 guys and 5 girls all drunk and belligerant and they decided he wasn't telling them to go. I asked the owner if he needed some help and he said no, thanks but JoJo or whatever the guys name was , can take care of it , I said 5 guys? he says yeah, I said can I stay and watch and he laughed and said sure. The bouncer got them congregated at the front door and left them for a couple of minutes, they started acting goofy and forgot all about him and I saw him take a run from the back of the bar at them and put his arms out in a dive and sent all of them out the door down the steps and out into the street. He caught himself on the door casing and shut and locked the door. I clapped for him a mi ute , said goodbye to my buddy and laughed all the way home.
