27:00 There was this secret restaurant in South Korea 🇰🇷 that loosely translated into being a restaurant for chefs. It was only open between 11pm-3am and their menu....the menu was unique. It was a checklist that gave the customer almost complete control of what goes on their plate. They start with asking how hungry you are (basically asking how big you want your plate) and then they'd give the customers the checklist which gave them complete control over what goes on their plate and how its prepared based on the ingredients they had on hand. It was amazing. And i understood why its for chefs/cooks and not general public... the menu was almost too difficult for me to use and the only reason I was allowed was because of the reservation by my cousin who is a chef in korea.
This is easily one of the best tour videos out there! I'll definitely rewatch all this series, especially before and during my own tour to Scotland (hopes and dreams...)). Thank you, Chef PK for the great job and the brilliant content you are giving us. Wish you and your waifu good luck! Lots of love from Armenia!!
OMG this totally reminds me of when I went to Germany a few years back. The outdoor market was amazing there too. But out of everything I noticed food over there is so much better, especially 'junk food' because they limit the types of preservatives they can use. Orange fanta over there taste like ACTUAL orange in the best way. Also Coca cola is less sweet but it doesn't detract from the flavor at all in my opinion. Favorite foods of that trip: Donar Kabobs and Snitzel. As far as sights "Rothenberg' was a nice quaint town that looked like something out of hunchback of Notre Dame lol
PK, even if this content doesn't generate as much hype as the anime cooking videos, It's by far and large your best content, and some of my favourite content on youtube. Please PLEASE keep doing more travel/restaurant IRL stuff
Its been a pleasure watching your videos on your trip abroad. It genuinely makes me happy seeing how happy and enjoyable the trip was for yall. Glad you were able to have this experience and vacation chef!
Nice vid Chef. Makes me want to go out in Edinburgh and have something nice to eat. It sure is handy that I live here! Glad you enjoyed our city! Haste ye back.
This was such an enjoyable vlog, I love food & will be heading to Edinburgh soon, I took notes from your visit, Thank you very much & I love your Akatsuki hat ☺️
I love how you go out and taste all foods available, and adding it to your taste library..i can see clearly your devotion in cooking..cheers, sensei :)
So, the best thing about Hotel Chocolat is that it is a chain. Those things are in all sorts of places in the UK. Also, sorry you had to experience the Holiday Inn oatmeal. If you ever come to the Hampshire area, there's some amazing cocktail bars in Winchester, as well as a geek-themed pie restaurant much like the pizza one.
All this tequila and it looks like the camera itself got drunk at some point which is just funny to me, glad you guys had fun and that's definitely on the bucket list now. Love the channel and the video Chef!
I miss going out to eat. :( I'm gonna check some of these places once things settle down, hopefully they're still open. I used to pass Pizzageeks every week when I went to play Magic at my Edinburgh card game store. (It's across the street from Haymarket train station). I preferred to grab dinner at Chicken Crew next door, though.
Now that's bizzare. I've just finish watch MoistCritikal talk about Gorden Ramsey cooking a grill chesse sandwich with kimchi. "Why I never heard of that before". 35:03 "Well that the first time I've seen Kimcheese on a menu"... wait a minute.
If you end up in the isle of sky, there is an amazing pizza place in the town of Portree. They have a gopro in a massive pizza oven that allows you to watch the whole process of your food being made. It was one of the better restaurants I had on my Scotland trip. (Warning is that every restaurant in that town requires reservations)
PLEASE promise me you will go to the Shin Yokohama Ramen Museum if/when you go to Tokyo! There's a map when you walk in that says where all the different types of ramen are from and where each restaurant is. I'm sure there are videos on RUclips about it if you want to look it up first. It's not a far ride out on the trains and it's such a fun place to go to. My husband and I went there twice while he was stationed in Yokosuka.
