The habits definitely snowball. Within a 2 year period of time my husband and I embarked on 3 journeys... debt free living, minimalism, and weight loss / healthy living. These things are all linked. However I follow no trends in minimalist style. I love farm house / cabin style, but have made it more minimal instead of decor everywhere.
Absolutely! Those journeys create such a positive ripple effect. Embracing minimalism while keeping a cozy farmhouse vibe sounds perfect. It’s all about finding what resonates with you. I often explore similar themes in my videos, discussing how lifestyle changes can intertwine. Your experiences are truly inspiring!
I can say for certain that a healthier lifestyle change does expand into other areas of your life. I started as a vegan due to a family history of illness. It then evolved into concerns for animals and the earth. Next I started donating to human rights, animal rights and environmental organizations. After that minimalism and conscious consumerism, then into composting and very close to zero waste to reduce what I am sending to a landfill. These changes have made me intentional with what I invest my money in.
I like the French country cottage look but I can be eclectic also bcuz I like some shabby chic stuff and farmhouse and some bold styles (like my red couch lol). I know I can’t just go blah grey or pastel white out tho. I need a certain “richness” in my space. I like texture and layers and color and beautiful things and unique looking things that are refurbished or handmade like antique furniture etc. I don’t mind white and grey as a neutral canvas, but the rest Imo needs color or imo it just looks “dead” and boring. Minimalism is still awesome tho. The less clutter you have, the more you can make a certain special thing you love really pop tho. One thing I’m thinking of is this metal off white “vase” (I guess it’s really a small pitcher thing tho lol) I have with these fake warm yellowish flowers (idk tulips?) in them. They just look so quaint as the only thing I put on my tall cream mini chest antique looking thing (or whatever you call it idk-it’s unique) and they just pop...but softly. One day two of my kitties sat up there with the flowers in low, warm lighting and it and it made a beautiful pic. Lol. I’m over there like dayum. This looks like Town and Country magazine stuff. 😂😂 And you look great in black! 😁
Trends??? ...mmm...really?? I suppose that it goes with...feelings! And as they fluctuate around us in the world, the feelings change the colours and the arrangements we want to be surrounded with??? Nature ?? Always! Trends? I LOVE saying that we are part of...NO clans but just choosing intentional simplicity ? ;) Thank you so much for this fresh video Ms Mia!!! helene :))
