Great video! My fave is pruning, we all need to ‘edit and adjust’ our lives- on an ongoing basis. I only wish my family understood teamwork/delegation better!!!! They drive me crazy 😂

Thank you Mia wonderful tip as always. Love the stuff on procrastination as feel I spend 80% preparing or putting of tasks when could of just applied the 20% of time to focus and get done. ❤🇬🇧❤

On thing I wish I could do is delegate, but that's the price of living alone. And with the way rent is in PDX, I certainly don't make "hire someone to help" money. Having things streamlined has really helped, and I rely heavily on my Alexa set routines to keep a schedule in the evening after work. Now that I've managed to get out ahead of things (I spent a week of vacation time climbing on top of my life) it's easier to keep up. Still, I do wish the cats could empty the dishwasher every once in a while...

I also wish my cats would help sound the house
      I live with them 🥰

I always tell my cat she needs to either get a job or start getting things done around the apartment. She just looks at me and goes back to napping 🙄

Mia, thank you for all you do! Your videos have been incredibly valuable to me. I am also in Portland! I would love to meet you one day. I am an aspiring professional organizer!

I’m interested in doing that also (No worries. I’m on the East coast lol). Do you know where to start tho? And what all have you found out? I’m considering taking a few classes but I’m not sure that’s the way to go about it. That would def be such a dream job tho. Best of luck to you!

Hahaha even if you were in Portland, there’s enough clutter to go around for all of us! I joined some professional organizer groups on Facebook that I have learned a lot from. Also, a few RUclips channels like I speak organized (she’s also in Portland haha). I have been wanting to start for a while but have been busy with life transitions. I will get there eventually! Best of luck to you as well :)

Ok. Don’t judge me. Confession time. Lol. 9 cats (Indoor/outdoor). A rabbit (for now). A handful of stray cats. Due to unavoidable circumstances porch raccoons. For the record I didn’t seek out to have this many animals that is now something like a farm. But well this is my life right now and I have to find the best possible ways to deal with all of it. 3-4 tenants. 5 bedrooms. 4 baths. 4 porch/deck spaces. Whew. No wonder I’m often feeling busier than I want to be. Well good news is that I’m slowly working my way out of a lot of this cumbersome arrangement. A few less animals eventually. No tenants. No raccoons. MUCH less square footage (like less than 1000 2 br/1bath). One screened in porch. Well goals anyways. Lol.
I wouldn’t be able to survive all this if I didn’t work on systems and efficiency constantly. Even with all this, minimalism has got me going very well. I can still deal with all of the necessary chores most days in small spurts of about 15 minutes to keep it all decently tidy and make sure all the animals have food and water. And it’s easier to stay motivated since I’ve trained myself to think like just do it now Bcuz it’ll be done in 15 minutes. And some tasks are just like 5 minutes. Lol. There would be no way if I hadn’t discovered all this minimalist info. So I should prob say thanks! Lol. Necessity is most def the mother of invention. So when I say I used to be extremely overwhelmed, I was most definitely not exaggerating. Lol.
There are so many things I was able to change for the better. Sorry so long but now I have the heavy cat food on autoship twice a month. I have found an ingenious litter box system. Most of my cats do their business outdoors also. Found some cool plastic trash cans to store the food in and have them at convenient “stations.” Too much to list but all these little tweaks really make my tasks a lot more doable. As they say. Put your brain on it and work smarter not harder. 😬 And def better boundaries with tenants. I don’t clean their spaces. That’s their job. Lol. And better boundaries with cats also. Lol.

For me I had to keep telling myself less thinking. More doing. But my analytical brain is going to do that anyways so people like Mia help me transition from thinking less to doing more sooner. Also a bit of thinking on it really can help reduce the actual workload as well instead of just grinding away 24/7 without giving some thought to how to make it easier or faster next time. I’d much rather work smarter than harder. And right now with all that’s on my plate I really have to if I want to remain sane.
