- Unboxing of the new Seiko 5 Sports SBSA025 Black. People calle it blackout, stealth, among others.
I did some obeservation, comparision and lumes.
You can actually see the Lume in this video, however it is very faint because it is blacked out.

These watches are HOOOOOT! They will do what they are meant to - they will take the Seiko automatic to a new generation

The watches look really beautiful. I don’t mind that they aren’t true dive watches. If you want a true dive watch, go to Prospex. Most SKX watches are just desk divers anyways. Seiko is just rebranding and repositioning themselves. What I do hope is they bring out Midsize variants, and then I would buy one!
You're right. I've never gone diving and probably never will, so I don't need any more than, say, the 100m of WR that this watch provides
I agree. I'm good with 100 metres water resistance.
A bright orange second hand, or lime yellow,, would have looked amaaaaaaazing,!!!

I really like the sandblasted sides on this one, rather than the usual polished treatment -- wish they did that on more of them!

love Seiko "old school" divers **Japan made/ got the Seiko 5 "Atlas model with metal band" wear on special events only **/ will have more character if change strap:)))
Very, very nice... but, even though it is similar to my Seiko 5 “Milsub’, the lume is disappointing, I have to say. I rely on lume a lot, which is why Seiko is my go-to brand. Maybe one of the other models has better lume?
I agree. I found the lume on the all black one disappointing, but I like the style overall. I rely on line a lot myself and Seiko watches usually have good lume. I'll be trying out a Luminox next.

Whats the difference between SRPD79B1 and SRPD79K1?
I don't have them but they are issued from different countries and mostly the same except maybe for the day wheel. Which in my case the SBSA issued in Japan have the Kanji day wheel.
So the stealth model needs a light first to illuminate and is this normal?
Lume is very faint because they made it dark. You a stealth with lume, check seikomods.
@@playlifes26 I have this stealth model and I noticed that the lume won't illuminate in the dark unless I spot it with flashlight first.

It came with the package from the distributor.

You can buy lume powder and add more lume to it. Although I have not tried it yet.

I want one . i just bought myself a Seiko SNZH57 which is a older 5 sports model . I was gonna get a new 5 sports when i fell in love with the older style ... Fathom 55 .. How do you like the strap on your street 5 sports? I think a nice quality divers band would look really awesome too.. Enjoy!!!
@@jerrybehr420 The nato srap that came with is kind of rough, not comfortable at all. I already change it with one of those paratrooper elastic nato straps.

Yes, they are. All skx parts are compatible except the crown. And also note that strapcode curved ends will not fit. Since they put drilled lug holes, the holes was moved a little from the original skx case.

Does the case still take the seiko fat spring bars?
Yes, case is still the same minus the screw down crown.
Not the same case. My strapcode skx strap doesnt fit because the lug holes are positioned differently

Nice looking watch but they are definitely not skx replacements.
IMO the turtle is the true replacement. This is more an answer to modded seikos

@@bahia9991 Not really, most every microbrand in existence is based off of chinese-built movements, cases, and parts. What matters is quality Chinese made components versus fashion-brand garbage. Watches would otherwise not be accessible for under $1k. A true watch enthusiast bases a watch on it's merits, not where it was built. The folks that make up journalistic watch forums such as Hodinkee and W&W would agree.
