    i did a 351w swap in mine and i only have battery and oil pressure to work. i put an after market temp gauge and the speedo, tach and gas gauge do not work. the car was already prept for a v8 swap so i dont know who wired the gas pump to work but im guessing they didnt hook up the gauge

    Great build! I own a 2000 V6 and was wondering do you know of any bolt ons I can do to improve performance. I already put on a cold air intake and changed out the stock ignition coil to a msd 48,000 volt. I plan on dual exhaust one day for sure. I'm on a real tight budget so any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

    wondering how they got around with the ecu? I have a 97 mustang gt, can't afford a new 4.6 mod motor, so I'm going 363 or 393w. I am currently running a e85 fuel system. I have a PA c4 transmission, 8.8 tabbed up with spool and 4.10.
    so, great platform to start with, just wanted to what I need to convert to one of my engine choices.

    Very Nice! This is a production 2 bolt block correct? I did go the 4.3 stroker turbo route and built my own turbo kit. Best pass to date with the car was 7.23 @ 101mph on 15psi letting off the throttle a little due to nerves lol. I don't blame you for the swap. A lot of work to make my v6 fast.

    What kind of bell housing are you running? I just did the same swap and used a 164 tooth flywheel with the original V6 bell housing so I could run the 11” clutch and something is hitting and making a tapping noise. I had to shim the starter because it was too close but nothing on the starter is hitting.

I was wondering since your car also has a v6/4.6 k member did you have to swap it out for a 94/95 or did the engine just bolt right to the stock k member? also did you keep your a/c? if so did the stock lines work or did you have to get a/c lines from a v8 car? thanks

    Do you use an auto or stick for the build? I was thinking of doing this swap and using the stock 4r70w auto trans and getting a 28oz 163 tooth flywheel since the trans will interchange. That way my speedometer will work since it is electronic. A tubular K-member usually takes care of the header clearance issue. Only thing i am worried about is how to get it legal for inspection with a carb and no emission junk.

    Very nice Mustang. Still, I'm puzzled. Is it practical to go back to push rods when '01's had overhead cams? Anything '96 and up is OBD2. In my state (NY) they plug the OBD2 port into a computer and send a report to our state capital that you passed emissions. How do you do that with push rods and a carburetor? Still, nice Mustang.

    I haven't looked into the 347 stroker kit much but did you have it bored out? Which distributor are you running? Still running the stock electric fuel pump with a pressure regulator? Was the engine bought as is or did you get a junkyard donor and build that up? I love these old carburetor 302s a lot. Thinking about getting a 97-01 F150 and dropping one in since I despise the Ford Modular engines. As much as I love manuals I can't drive them at all not even to save my life so I'd be going with the E4OD with 4R100 parts.

    • @jaredhughes4090
      @jaredhughes4090  9 лет назад

      Ratkill9000 The block is a 302 Boss thats been balanced and bored. Running a MSD Pro Billet distributor and coil. No, on the stock fuel pump. Removed factory pump from inside the tank and installed an outside electric pump. The block was bought bare and built from there.

    What do you have to do with the computer and all when you swap with a v8 and carb setup? I'm very curious. I've wanted to do this but I have no idea what problems will arise.

      They whole car is basically an old school muscle car as far as the engine and fuel system goes.

    Jared, very, very nice car. Awesome job! I have the exact same car and I'm in the process of doing the same swap. It's hard to find correct info on this, but since you've been through it I have one question.. Did you use the existing V6 K member that was originally in the car or did you change it? And if you changed it, what did you use? Thanks for your time. Again, a beautiful car..

      Jared Hughes Question I have a v6 94 auto with a blown engine just sitting and a F 150 with a 5.4 trition just sitting and I want to put the 5.4 in the 94. Will the auto AOD-E (if built) can handle it?

      +Jared Hughes no need to worry about the check engine light bud. when you do swaps like that its natural for it to be on because of the PC. you swapped it from FI to carburated so all the sensors that the PC normally reads on the FI setup is no longer there so it's gonna read a problem. at least I'm pretty sure that is the reason why. Great build though.
