Danny, having watched many hours of golf tutors explain the game, I think you are one of the very best teachers. You explain things logically, simply and with great clarity. Keep it up! Many thanks... Martin
Beach Ball concept changed everything for me. I was blading and chunking many shots. I’ve watched many videos and tried all the tips and techniques. But even though my setup and many other things were right, I was overthinking, and I was anxious over the ball. Nothing was feeling natural. I was becoming mechanical and failing miserably. I needed a simple, rhythmic swing motion and swing thought -- and the thought of gently moving the beach ball gave me a simple fluid motion that WORKED. In a couple minutes I went from awful to hitting shots just like I wanted to. Brilliant and effective swing visualization leading to a natural fluid movement. Thank you.
You must have read my mind! With a crook knee I’ve being practising chipping and came to conclusion it’s a lot about the turn or pivot. Can’t wait to hobble outside to try this as I top 25% of chips in practice and on course. Coaches have to be firstly good communicators. You have got this in spades. Well done and thank you from all of us.
Danny Maude you are absolutely without a doubt the best 1 video a week You Tube star on the internet. And your tips are pretty good too so thank you for making me a better golfer all the way over here in Indiana. Have a great day today Danny !!
I feel fortunate this week for two very good reasons. I saw your video with Pete, and I have a range across the street out back to practice what he preached. My last shot last night was a chip in for eagle and a tie for the lead in the 6 man skins game we were playing. Get up and out of the way. Words to live by.
The very best chipping lesson I have ever seen. I immediately stood up, practiced the beach ball routine in my living room, then ran downstairs to grab my chipper and felt the movement on the basement carpet. Playing next week and expect a chipping miracle!
God bless you Danny. I've been practising this chipping technique over the past few weeks, and it has come on leaps and bounds. I can't believe I'm confident taking a chip shot within 20 metres of the green. Came 3rd in yesterday's competition, and your advice had a huge part to play in some of those scores. Up and down are new to me because of this. Said I'd come back to this video and give my thanks
I tried this method throughout my golf games last year and my short game improved DRAMATICALLY! Very few missed shots and very near the hole. I usually don't comment on simple videos like this.... but this method worked for me!
I watched your Pete Cowan lesson and in the comments asked if you would rework the lesson for handicap golfers. You said you would… and this is brilliant. Even practising on a carpet at home, I now have every time just a gentle brush on the carpet at the low point(no ball!) instead of chunking. What I was missing before was firstly trying to HIT the ball instead of letting gravity do it’s job and secondly, the need to rise up at and just after impact - hence the frequent fat shots. Many thanks !
Your short game tips are making the most impact in my game. I've always been a long hitter, but terrible around the greens. I shot my all time best 3 over a few weeks ago thanks to your tips! Under par coming soon! Thanks Danny!
I've reduced myself to watching 2 vloggers YOU BECAUSE I THINK YOUR THE BEST in explaining your teaching video's and golf mates for fun in this video you've hit the nail on the head I'm doing all of the above hopefully things will change after watching this
Eureka.! Despite my struggles, I persisted because your instructions are always good and have always worked for me. Once I applied pressure down, but down relative to my shoulders instead of towards the fixed point of the ball down on the ground, it worked. I could both apply pressure down and let my body/arm/club unit to fall while pivoting. It then took just a little experimentation to find the proper fluid motion. I am glad that I trusted you and stuck with it. Thanks again
I put this to use today without any practice. It worked like a charm. No more trying to flip lob wedges or trying to get a sand wedge to work properly. All I need to do is dial in distance control. Danny, you are a genius with your RUclips lessons. I wish this was available 40 years ago.
just before a little Senior's Tournament I fell upon your wonderfully explained simple simple chipping lesson. I'll report my new experience some days later, hopefully with a positive outcome. Thanks, Danny.
it takes a rare kind of talent to be a great teacher. unfortunately there many fewer people out there with this talent than are teaching, lol. i am a big believer in in-person lessons (competent ones, anyway), but your RUclips videos have without question improved my game, and indeed have even helped me assimilate some concepts that my in-person coach brought up but didn't explain in a way that allowed me to integrate into my swing holistically. honestly, i have not found anyone else out there on RUclips who is better at you at articulating the mechanics of this dead-simple-yet-infinitely-complex sport. i mean, this is probably not an entirely fair comparison, but if you watch your Pete Cowen video and then this video, it's like you're able to better crystallize golf ideas than even he is!
Thank you Danny for this excellent video. I've watched your live lesson with Pete Cowen, but this video made me understand what "push the the pressure down" is all about.
Loved the dumbbell drill, took it to the course today, worked beautifully. Thanks Danny for helping so many of us improve our game and make us enjoy it so much more.
Hi From Oz, Danny, you continue to astound me. I watched your PC lesson but did not understand the downward arm pressure. Your dumbbell exercise and beach ball analogy have clarified so much. Thanks heaps.
Thanks Danny...great tips for the short game. I cant wait to get out and try that...I like the idea of keeping a beach ball pushed underwater. It stops me from folding my left arm on the downswing and giving it the Ole Chicken wing swing which never works.....I think you should also mention how important it is to keep your head down through the swing and not to look up in anticipation of where you think the ball will be going. Been watching you for a long time and really happy that I count you as one of my instructors. 71 years old and still learning.
I watched the episode with Pete Cowan and really enjoyed it, I have been trying to feel like I am pushing my legs into the ground and it seems to help. I loved that you didn't always get it right and showed that. I also liked when he said to you "just feel like you are messing around" which is a great way to take the tension out.
Great vid Danny. The getting out of the way part was the final missing piece on my swing, as soon as u said u were chunking because u were leaning back instead of following through, the light bulb went off. This helped my full swing too. Great analogy with the beach ball
short game was killing my scores, 50 yards in I was shanking a lot of shots... Your video has immensely improved my short game ..... I just let "gravity" swing the club on the downswing (no hands) and haven't hit a shank in 2 rounds... used "gravity swing" twice today and saved a couple shots... Thanks Danny, enjoy all your videos and especially like when you are giving lessons on the range or course with golfers I can relate too, under 95 mph driver swing speed!
I watched your other video with Cowen and was impressed thank you. I quit playing golf because I developed the chipping yips... Which started to creep into my full swing. I am going to try this method if i can master this in chipping i may be able to progress to my full swing. Thanks for your videos
A good in-depth follow-up to your earlier video with Pete Cowan. I've already improved my chipping from that video so hopefully I'll continue to get better. It's a great feeling when you get it.
Another great video Danny. I came back in the game 6 months ago after a 30 years pause. So I still have a long way to go to get better. However on the chipping side I always have used the technique you showed as this is in line with the field hockey stroke you make (I have played on a high level). This morning I had an argument with one of the golf pros at our club and he told me I am doing it wrong. I told me that I need to have the arms in front of the body and push the club through. I told him that my chips using the arc movement in 90 % of the time have great flight, spin and control. I told him that I would use the bounce to have more flexibility in my chipping. Long story short. My pro said it is wrong what I am doing. Well I will stick with it as many profs are teaching this like yourself, Dan Grieves, Pete Cowen.... Must be something true in here... Cheers, Hendrik
Brilliant! I watched your vid with Pete Cowan COUNTLESS times and this vid totally strengthens the procedure! The reaction between both of you two was priceless! Bravo again!!!
Yeah.... it just worked..... spot on. I remember the video with your Dad so the principals where there, but we forget... Great reminder of the importance of touch and feel. 👏
Very true people, I already tried the Pete Cowan technique and it works! You will notice a completely different ball flight with this technique. In fact someone the other day at my local P&P commented on my lovely arcing ball flight. As always, I thank them and then tell them about Danny, making sure they spell the last name right! Cheers Danny! 😁😁
Many thanks Dany for your dedication to making us all amateur golfers better at the greatest game of all! In practising after having watched several times last week’s video with Pete Cowen, I was still struggling with the concept! But now working on it after this last video where you bring such needed details and drills, I’m amazed at the results achieved in such a short timeframe! As you say it in your demonstration, it’s just as simple as that! Thanks again Sir, and please keep at it! Your help is for sure appreciated from all!
Danny, thankyou, you've done it again you legend. This just took my chipping to the next level. I practiced it for a few sessions then took it on course today. Iron play was dodgy today so I had loads of chances to chip. Out of 10 chips, 7 ended up close enough to tap in with the lobby and the other three were inside 8 foot.
I have recently take up golf again and came across your videos. Chipping was always very hit and miss for me. Hit the practice fairway today and didn’t miss the green once and even put one in the hole! Clear, concise and practical advice. Thanks!
Tried this chipping and pitching technique and your driving set up. I have not had a poor drive since, I,’ve knocked in three pitch shots and landed two within six inches of the pin. Before that it was hit or miss. You and Mr Cowan are spot on. I’ve been a good short game player for 50+ years but nothing like this. Awesome! Thank you both
Danny, thank you for allowing yourself to be the guinea pig in this instance. Watching someone with your skills and ability struggle to get this right is heartening to see. It shows how there is so much more to understand and learn about executing the correct technique of what looks at first glance to be a relatively simple type of shot. I have learned so much from this as the short pitch shot is my nemesis. This has given me a much clearer idea of what I am doing wrong and what needs to change. The proof will be in the pudding but as a far less skilled golfer I feel this has given me hope at least of solving what has been a real problem in my game for a very long time, and for this, I am indebted to you.
Thanks again Danny for another great lesson. I just got back from the range and the feeling of using the barbell to let the club drop really worked. I even tried it with longer wedge shots and it helped that as well.
Excellent training video. Between this lesson and the one with Pete Cowen it has taken my chipping abilities to the next level. Simple and straightforward technique that with practice increases your confidence level from any lie. TYVM.
Awesome. I was really struggling with this part of my game. I’m now striking the ball cleanly from any lie. It’s saving me strokes and I’m enjoying the game much more as a result. Thank you so much.
I’ve been waiting for you to do this video since you had your chipping lesson from the master himself 😀Thanks Danny, can’t wait to practice this tomorrow.
Hi Danny, I watched your video with Pete Cowan and found it fascinating. I have since been working on your technique and after a great deal of practice I managed to get a feel for it and it has transformed my short game. I now feel very confident around the greens. Many thanks for another brilliant lesson.
Great video Danny, my chipping is easily the weakest part of my game. Been practicing in the backyard a few times now and its really working wonders! Letting the club fall really gives it good back spin too
Let it fall is not what i’m feeling. It feels more like a push with the right wrist. Hinge and unhinge the right wrist with pressure down is my feeling.
After watching your videos Danny and then practicing different drills with a load of foam golf balls in the garden for about 3 months, I shot 7 over for 9 holes yesterday. That's incredible for me! Having a space to continually practice after watching your videos is key, Thank You!
After practicing this technique at the range, I took this to the course as an experiment. I moved up to the white tees playing about 5300 yds. I played the entire round with this chipping motion with the 5 wood being the longest club I used off the ground. The longest EFFECTIVE backswing I could muster with this method produced about 75% of my normal distances club to club with incredible accuracy and very consistent gapping club to club. I had charted distances at the range and quickly discovered (with this chipping motion) my clubs had a 10 yd gap starting with the lob wedge at 40 yds and ending with the 5 wood at 150. I was able to easily work fades and draws using this method as well. Very nice technique! I would like to see you connect the dots between this method and a full swing. In other words, a progression in one video with let's say a 7 iron. Start with a close bump and run and work away from the green in increments until you are at your maximum distance with your 7 iron, demonstrating along the way the swing changes required as you transition from this chipping motion to a full "get all of it" 7 iron and then moving to fairway woods and the driver. I see many videos of how to perform this type of swing or that type of swing, but have yet to see one that connects the dots and how to transition from one swing to another and why. I appreciate what you do!
Thanks Danny, this is the best tip that I have ever found on RUclips. I’m handicapped 18 and able to hit 10 the first time (missed 4 par putt)…I’ll definitely spend more time on your channel…appreciate very much!
Very much one of my fave backyard drills. You helped clarify the need “for getting out of the way”. Too often I try to get greedy and pull the club thru, rather than letting it fall and engage the bounce. This drill is a great tool to keep that from happening.
This is a really great video and the one with Pete. I have always had so much movement in the hands in the back swing and follow through. Distance control is difficult and the ball flight is quite low and skids with check. It is so much easier with one go to flight the ball with the clubs nature loft giving a much softer flight
After watching your video with Pete Cowen i was bit skeptical however I went two days ago to a good range with chipping green and try it. And Pete was 100 percent right, as always. As you point, whole thing is about using a natural force of a club and then sort of move away with open stance, More vertical position is a key to allow club to fall and with a butt more like center of rotation it is a pure, beautiful strike.
A nice summary of your lesson with Pete Cowen. This was a game changer for me, just letting the club "drop" to the ball improved my chipping significantly. Thank you Danny!
Hello Danny - I am so thankful that i found your very informative and simple explanation videos. I am new to the golf world and have finish 6 day class and have been practicing in the last week 3 hrs a day in the green and also do a lot of short game.. Thank you Danny again.. Nelson from Florida USA
Since watching your session with Pete I have been grinding this out, and yes it does work. Once I got it down it was just a matter of trusting it especially when playing in a medal. I have more tap in putts chipping this way.
Hi Danny I have had a good short game for many years now and have always spent more time on the short game than the long game. What you have showed us with this chipping method looks so simple and I will be using this on the course on Tuesday for my next game after a few practice chips. Cheers
The tip at 4:58 to press arms down and left was a game changer for me. I also liked the video showing Pete Cowan giving Danny tips, but Pete's terminology sometimes needs explaining a bit further and this video does just that. Thanks Danny
I was at the driving range, outside of Lancaster Pennsylvania, the other day working on your backswing tips, and the guy next to me was telling his buddy about this guy Danny Maude on RUclips . Your message is getting out across the world, man. 👍
Thank you Danny - you are an excellent instructor. I have learned a lot from your videos and my game has definitely improved. Thank you very much!! Greetings from North Carolina, USA.
Thanks Danny. Really clarifies some of the key insights from your Pete Cowen video which I really gained a lot from. Perfect weather for short game practice!
Thanks Danny for great follow up to your Pete Cowen lesson. Method to give us so much confidence in those scoring shots round the green. Though I'm also working on not leaving it short to start with!!! Cheers, and thanks again.
First off love the videos, you have made me a better golfer tenfold and I couldn't thank you enough! One thing I've always struggled with in the short game is in thick grass and uneven surfaces, what is the best way to get out of these areas? Where you might have an uphill lie or downhill lie with a good amount of rough to get out of? I tend to fat it and rocket the ball to the other side of the green.
I greatly admire your courage and humility to share yourself taking a lesson and going through the same issues and struggles that we do. I greatly respect your doing so. Cheers! Gr Arlington Texas
Another great video Danny, thank you. Such an important part of the game where us amateurs can pick up shots. Indeed, I recently had a one hour lesson just on chipping as it has been the weakest part of my game and I'm reaping the benefit. Thanks again and have a good weekend.
Great job Danny, this confirms and enhances my recent work , I've been using gravity more, but only on short chips. I find that a moderately light grip pressure is also key. I will definitely be trying it on longer chips right away. Thanks
Thanks Danny, great video, I've been practising this shot ever since the Pete Cowan one and now this with more detail is excellent. Only bit I think you missed in your one was the 'Just messing about!' approach to the shot! 🤣
Watched last week's lesson with Cowan with great interest. I play RH but am left hand dominant. The feeling I took away from his "get the toe under the ball" was to supinate the left forearm through the ball. So pronate going back and supinate going through. I noticed my body getting out of the way naturally. I also noticed that although the supination through the ball feels like I am closing the face the shots are going higher as I have less shaft lean and contact is way more consistent as I am truly engaging the bounce.
@@DanielMaude Thanks for the extra little lesson George, as I too am lefty dominant but golf righty. I’ll be focusing on the pronation and supination. Love the terminology…as a PE teacher you get an A for the day! Danny, excellent teaching as usual. Thank you! Will be applying this on the course tomorrow.
I have practiced this tonight, 60 balls from 3 different lies and distance, result all on the green, but NONE of them duffed in front. Like all things in golf, it still needs practice but i can see that this technique works a treat. Many thanks.
AS always, this info is bang on! I did have to adjust it to me a bit because I use Single Length irons. I just choke down on my wedge and move the ball slightly forward so the bounce allows the club to get under the ball. I can create more backspin like this. If I want it to land and roll, I set the ball a bit back in my stance. Saying this, by choking down a bit, the shaft automatically becomes more upright, the face squares up nicely , and I can chip so much better and more accurately! NO YIPS!!! LOL
Excellent Danny! Love this video. I watched the lesson you received from Cowan last week, so I was glad to watch your follow up as I resonate with your style of teaching and always love your drills. I was using the “3 chip shots you need” shots from your video from last year, but will make the slight modifications from this video. Thank you!
Thanks for this tip Danny. I frequently get to a position short of the green and just need my wedge shot to get me on in regulation and end up slicing it - away from the green! Hopefully this will stop this happening.
@@DanielMaude It also had me thinking of feeling just the grip as clipping under the ball as an intermediary point since the club head is an extension of the grip kinda helped
@@DanielMaude I will let you know. I'm really excited to see how this helps my short game and my consistency around the greens. I struggle from about 60 yards in.
I followed this technique for 2 practice sessions and the difference was incredible. I am more relaxed, let the club do the work, and open my body to watch the ball go where it should, EVERYTIME! I could not believe it. My scorecard had 11 bad chips. I think I could lower that to 2-3 each round.
Mr Maude, I was 13 girl paces from the pin. I had just watched this video and was using it today. Last hole, last stroke for par and I was able to chip in 😁😁
@@DanielMaude and once I get my new knee I’ve got lots to put into practice from these videos. And I’ve signed up for the free ones off your website 👍🏻⛳️
Awesome follow up from the Pete Cowen video. Really like the dumbbell drill….provides a fantastic visual. I definitely have the butt of the club traveling too far! This is going to help for sure. Keep up the great work Danny!
3 things I wished you would have addressed in this video...is ..1) where is the ball position between your feet in relationship to your stance; and 2) the weight distribution at set-up (since we have been told that there needs to be a little more weight on the lead foot....3) the club face position at set-up(slightly open?) Good video though Danny....great analogies.
@@DanielMaude thx! An idea for another vid. Why dont u with ur great pedagogical skills explain Petes filosofy of loading the shoulders for draw vs fade in relation to natural forces? Another topic not so easy to digest for an happy amateur golfer like me an others 🙂
Thanks Danny - another great video. Recently, my short game has deteriorated quite badly and I now realise that in trying to improve my drive, it's affected my approach to chipping in terms of stance and how much power I should put into the shot. Can't wait to try out these tips! Thanks again!
Danny, having watched many hours of golf tutors explain the game, I think you are one of the very best teachers. You explain things logically, simply and with great clarity. Keep it up!

But now working on it after this last video where you bring such needed details and drills, I’m amazed at the results achieved in such a short timeframe! As you say it in your demonstration, it’s just as simple as that!
Thanks again Sir, and please keep at it! Your help is for sure appreciated from all!
Thanks Pierre happy to help 😁
Danny, thankyou, you've done it again you legend. This just took my chipping to the next level. I practiced it for a few sessions then took it on course today. Iron play was dodgy today so I had loads of chances to chip. Out of 10 chips, 7 ended up close enough to tap in with the lobby and the other three were inside 8 foot.
Well done Stuart 😁 happy to hear the tips helping you 👍
I have recently take up golf again and came across your videos. Chipping was always very hit and miss for me. Hit the practice fairway today and didn’t miss the green once and even put one in the hole! Clear, concise and practical advice. Thanks!
Brilliant to hear Mark well done 😁👍
Tried this chipping and pitching technique and your driving set up. I have not had a poor drive since, I,’ve knocked in three pitch shots and landed two within six inches of the pin. Before that it was hit or miss. You and Mr Cowan are spot on. I’ve been a good short game player for 50+ years but nothing like this. Awesome! Thank you both
Brilliant SD well done 😁
Thanks Ian happy to hear the videos are helping you 👍
Thanks again Danny for another great lesson. I just got back from the range and the feeling of using the barbell to let the club drop really worked. I even tried it with longer wedge shots and it helped that as well.
That’s wonderful Bob
Used the technique you used in the Pete Cowen video, brilliant for strike. Felt so much better, just need to work on distance control. Thank you
This will come naturally with consistent striking
Excellent training video. Between this lesson and the one with Pete Cowen it has taken my chipping abilities to the next level. Simple and straightforward technique that with practice increases your confidence level from any lie. TYVM.
Awesome. I was really struggling with this part of my game. I’m now striking the ball cleanly from any lie. It’s saving me strokes and I’m enjoying the game much more as a result. Thank you so much.
I’ve been waiting for you to do this video since you had your chipping lesson from the master himself 😀Thanks Danny, can’t wait to practice this tomorrow.
Hope you enjoyed it Steven
Hi Danny, I watched your video with Pete Cowan and found it fascinating. I have since been working on your technique and after a great deal of practice I managed to get a feel for it and it has transformed my short game. I now feel very confident around the greens. Many thanks for another brilliant lesson.
Fantastic Peter well done 🙌
Great video Danny, my chipping is easily the weakest part of my game.
Been practicing in the backyard a few times now and its really working wonders! Letting the club fall really gives it good back spin too
it really does doesn't it
Let it fall is not what i’m feeling.
Brilliant well done 👍
Thanks so ouch for taking the time to share your feedback
Thanks once again Danny this video has worked wonders with my chipping in the garden…hope it works again in my next competition.
Brilliant Helen, thanks for taking the time to share
Thanks Danny, this is the best tip that I have ever found on RUclips. I’m handicapped 18 and able to hit 10 the first time (missed 4 par putt)…I’ll definitely spend more time on your channel…appreciate very much!
Well done Trung 😁
Very much one of my fave backyard drills. You helped clarify the need “for getting out of the way”. Too often I try to get greedy and pull the club thru, rather than letting it fall and engage the bounce. This drill is a great tool to keep that from happening.
Thanks Willie 😁
Great tutorial and such an essential shot to get right. Lots and lots of thought going into this one thanks Danny.
All the best Nicholas
I watched your lesson, bit too technical, much preferred this video simply explained and extremely well executed. Brilliant chipping video.
Thanks for the feedback Mick
Phil Michelson calls this the “set (wrists) and turn (body)” …and it works! Good video!
Can’t argue with one of the best
This is a really great video and the one with Pete. I have always had so much movement in the hands in the back swing and follow through. Distance control is difficult and the ball flight is quite low and skids with check. It is so much easier with one go to flight the ball with the clubs nature loft giving a much softer flight
Really glad you enjoyed it Ian
Love what you are doing here Danny! Thanks for sharing the knowledge you picked up from Pete in a really easy to understand format!
Pleasure Nick 😁
Same
After watching your video with Pete Cowen i was bit skeptical however I went two days ago to a good range with chipping green and try it. And Pete was 100 percent right, as always. As you point, whole thing is about using a natural force of a club and then sort of move away with open stance, More vertical position is a key to allow club to fall and with a butt more like center of rotation it is a pure, beautiful strike.
Absolutely Darko
Danny, you are an amazing instructor. I've watched many videos and yours are the BEST. So simple and easy to understand! Thank you!
A nice summary of your lesson with Pete Cowen. This was a game changer for me, just letting the club "drop" to the ball improved my chipping significantly. Thank you Danny!
Pleasure Kuma 😁
Hello Danny - I am so thankful that i found your very informative and simple explanation videos. I am new to the golf world and have finish 6 day class and have been practicing in the last week 3 hrs a day in the green and also do a lot of short game.. Thank you Danny again.. Nelson from Florida USA
By the way what iron you use on your video? Thanks
Thanks Nelson appreciate the support 😁
Since watching your session with Pete I have been grinding this out, and yes it does work. Once I got it down it was just a matter of trusting it especially when playing in a medal. I have more tap in putts chipping this way.
Brilliant Matski well done! 😁
Hi Danny I have had a good short game for many years now and have always spent more time on the short game than the long game. What you have showed us with this chipping method looks so simple and I will be using this on the course on Tuesday for my next game after a few practice chips. Cheers
Thanks Nic let me know how you get on!
The tip at 4:58 to press arms down and left was a game changer for me. I also liked the video showing Pete Cowan giving Danny tips, but Pete's terminology sometimes needs explaining a bit further and this video does just that. Thanks Danny
Absolutely Love your videos, coach... I'm horrible but working to get better... Your videos are a tremendous help, Thank you!
You can do it Bob
Thank You... 👍
I was at the driving range, outside of Lancaster Pennsylvania, the other day working on your backswing tips, and the guy next to me was telling his buddy about this guy Danny Maude on RUclips . Your message is getting out across the world, man. 👍
Wow thanks for sharing Jim 😁
Thank you Danny - you are an excellent instructor. I have learned a lot from your videos and my game has definitely improved. Thank you very much!! Greetings from North Carolina, USA.
Pleasure MArco, all the best
Thanks Danny. Really clarifies some of the key insights from your Pete Cowen video which I really gained a lot from. Perfect weather for short game practice!
Thanks Danny for great follow up to your Pete Cowen lesson. Method to give us so much confidence in those scoring shots round the green. Though I'm also working on not leaving it short to start with!!! Cheers, and thanks again.
Pleasure Pascal 😁
No problem Geoff!
I have a video coming this Saturday that will help
Great lesson, Danny. Well done for boiling down what you learnt from Pete Cowen into a few simple ideas for us.
Thanks Boyd 😁
I greatly admire your courage and humility to share yourself taking a lesson and going through the same issues and struggles that we do. I greatly respect your doing so. Cheers! Gr Arlington Texas
Thanks Gr 😁
I saw your lesson with Master Cowen. You have added a lot to his explanation. Thanks!
Pleasure Ron 😁
What a great video. Helped my short shots and longer short iron shots. Great work Danny
That’s awesome Mel
Great follow up to the actual Pete Cowen vid…… simplifying what he was teaching you….need to put this into practice.👍👌
Thanks Andy 😁
Another great video Danny, thank you. Such an important part of the game where us amateurs can pick up shots. Indeed, I recently had a one hour lesson just on chipping as it has been the weakest part of my game and I'm reaping the benefit. Thanks again and have a good weekend.
Thanks David 😁
Great job Danny, this confirms and enhances my recent work , I've been using gravity more, but only on short chips. I find that a moderately light grip pressure is also key. I will definitely be trying it on longer chips right away. Thanks
Love it 👌
Watching the pros chip is one thing , but knowing how it’s doe is another. Great video!
Thanks Kenny !
Thanks Danny, great video, I've been practising this shot ever since the Pete Cowan one and now this with more detail is excellent. Only bit I think you missed in your one was the 'Just messing about!' approach to the shot! 🤣
Thanks Nigel 😁
Yet another great lesson. Thank you Danny.
all the best Michael
Great tips!! I have been working on this part of my game and this comes at a great time, thanks for all you do!!
Pleasure Keith 👍
Danny you are the master in simplifying things. Suddenly chipping sounds so simple! Will definitely try this on the course! Keep this up yeah!
Thanks Khoo appreciate the support 😁
Watched last week's lesson with Cowan with great interest. I play RH but am left hand dominant. The feeling I took away from his "get the toe under the ball" was to supinate the left forearm through the ball. So pronate going back and supinate going through. I noticed my body getting out of the way naturally. I also noticed that although the supination through the ball feels like I am closing the face the shots are going higher as I have less shaft lean and contact is way more consistent as I am truly engaging the bounce.
That’s correct George 👌
@@DanielMaude Thanks for the extra little lesson George, as I too am lefty dominant but golf righty. I’ll be focusing on the pronation and supination. Love the terminology…as a PE teacher you get an A for the day! Danny, excellent teaching as usual. Thank you! Will be applying this on the course tomorrow.
Watched the great vid with Pete Cowan but didn't understand the downward pressure, thanks for clearing that up. Works brilliantly. Ta v.much
That’s awesome, concept works so well
Can't wait to try this. I have constantly failed on this. Thanks so much
Pleasure Manuel 👍
I have practiced this tonight, 60 balls from 3 different lies and distance, result all on the green, but NONE of them duffed in front. Like all things in golf, it still needs practice but i can see that this technique works a treat. Many thanks.
Thanks Peter 😁 happy to help 👍
AS always, this info is bang on! I did have to adjust it to me a bit because I use Single Length irons. I just choke down on my wedge and move the ball slightly forward so the bounce allows the club to get under the ball. I can create more backspin like this. If I want it to land and roll, I set the ball a bit back in my stance. Saying this, by choking down a bit, the shaft automatically becomes more upright, the face squares up nicely , and I can chip so much better and more accurately! NO YIPS!!! LOL
Brilliant Ross well done 😁
Excellent Danny! Love this video. I watched the lesson you received from Cowan last week, so I was glad to watch your follow up as I resonate with your style of teaching and always love your drills. I was using the “3 chip shots you need” shots from your video from last year, but will make the slight modifications from this video. Thank you!
That’s great, well done
Great job Danny Pete would be very happy with your application of his chipping method.
Thanks for the feedback J C all the best
Thanks for this tip Danny. I frequently get to a position short of the green and just need my wedge shot to get me on in regulation and end up slicing it - away from the green! Hopefully this will stop this happening.
love to hear how you get on
Great stuff. The last two videos were soooo good!
Really glad you enjoyed them Bill, have a great weekend
This really helped! Thanks Coach Danny
Pleasure Keith, all the very best
@@DanielMaude It also had me thinking of feeling just the grip as clipping under the ball as an intermediary point since the club head is an extension of the grip kinda helped
Been going thru the short game yips lately, I going to use this to get back to the basics, Many Thanks for the great work, Mark fm the land of Oz👌
Love to hear how you get on Marky
Great drill for when I play a few rounds this month in NM up in the mountains. Looking forward to these shots on the course now. Thanks DM.
Love to hear how you get on
@@DanielMaude I will let you know.
That’s great to hear Jim 😁
Mr Maude, I was 13 girl paces from the pin. I had just watched this video and was using it today. Last hole, last stroke for par and I was able to chip in 😁😁
Thank you.
Brilliant Barb well done 😁
Great video Danny. Showing what Pete said to you. Just shows how much we learn even when your one of the best coaches. ⛳️⛳️
Important to always learn. Plenty of room for improvement
Thanks Peter !
Danny
Great video!
On the longer chip you didn't use your own great tip!!
"Turn your lead foot out to allow you to move easily through the ball "
One of my personal faults 👌
thank you so much for explaining ur lesson with Pete, now I get it 🙂 will get right on practicing
All the best Jonny
@@DanielMaude thx! An idea for another vid. Why dont u with ur great pedagogical skills explain Petes filosofy of loading the shoulders for draw vs fade in relation to natural forces? Another topic not so easy to digest for an happy amateur golfer like me an others 🙂
The floating beach ball. . . What an explanation !
Hope it helps
Thanks Danny - another great video. Recently, my short game has deteriorated quite badly and I now realise that in trying to improve my drive, it's affected my approach to chipping in terms of stance and how much power I should put into the shot. Can't wait to try out these tips! Thanks again!
Let me know how it goes Alan 😁
Very good explanation and demonstration. Love it ⛳️🙏
Thanks for the feedback Andrew
Thank you Danny always good information! We'll be trying this Monday!
All the best Sven
