Just bought one of these a few weeks ago over here in Australia; a 2017 Holden Caprice with the 6.2L LS3 V8 under the hood. Here they were marketed as a luxury limo and were fitted with the fancy full leather interior & all the electronic bells & whistles and a lot more chrome, but for a big & heavy long wheelbase sedan they certainly get up & boogie when you stomp on the gas, and handle surprisingly well for a big car. My plans for it are very similar to yours; exhaust, AFM lifter-delete kit & a tune for starters, and maybe a cam & intake as well while the heads are off. The standard wheels here were 19" alloys on the '17s so I might stick with those for now as they look pretty good and maintain the stock-standard sleeper look. Looking forward to watching all your follow-up vids now to see how your mods are progressing!
I’ve had mine for a year, I got it for our new baby. I love its super safe rubber floors plenty of space for the car seat and v8. Mine came “de copped” so it had no cop stuff inside regular center console
Looks awesome. It'll last you for years to come. Very popular here in Australia. Production has now ceased. They were known as Holden Statesman / Caprice. There were electrical gremlins in the first series. All the best bud.
We need a guy like you who can ship parts to the US to us for a benefit your way obviously 💰 you can’t find anything for these cars unless you get a parts car. Everything is discounted.
Now you just need a Crown Vic to add to it. Not as fast but still a lot of fun and super roomy and super reliable. And they only come with one engine, the 4.6L V8 that sounds gorgeous. It don’t have to be a police interceptor either, it can be a civilian one, or a Mercury Grand Marquis. Those are super comfortable.
I got a 2014 white one a few months ago. I’ve picked up the Holden badges, grill and Kooks headers for now……I know, typical. 😂 I love it tho….only thing I don’t like is I don’t have a center console. I have had a couple of drinks slide straight to the back and splash every where. Thank goodness for the vinyl flooring. 😂
Made in Australia. Called Holden Caprice, here. Exported these to US. The LS V8 is best with Exhaust upgrade and tunned by experts. Dont know about a CAM. That will need Professional Tuning to be useful.
@@nastymk3 Cool. In Australia, the LS3 V8 has been tuned to 450 kW. With Twin Turbos and engine work, I have seen Dyno runs of 1800 HP. Company is called HPF (Horse Power Factory) Dandenong, Melbourne, Australia. You might find some stuff on the web and RUclips.
Hey, I'm looking at a 2013 on an online auction where the description states "low pressure valve core leaking". Any ideas on what they could be talking about? ac? Thank you
@@nastymk3 Hahaha! Glad you did. And, these I’m told make big power with a few upgrades just like the tune you have on it. I have never had a V8 too and this is my next choice- I have a twin turbo V6 - SHO. It’s nice but that V8 sound is even better.
@nastymk3 9c1 or the chevy caprice ppv from ohio, Kentucky,Indiana and Michigan have a secondary battery in the trunk it's to run the lights and computer systems if you don't believe me there's a renegade racing video on the matter alone with others it's how I ended up with a extra battery for my g8.. you probably don't know that there's also around 96lbs of extra 12 gauge or bigger wires that ran the lights sirens and accessories hidden within a caprice. Every department had different specifications for what was put in their patrol car.
Yo I just saw your video about the blazing motorsports tune. Did you do anything else to the car besides a DOD delete? or is it completely stock just tuned? Also is it the blazing high performance shop in Durham?
@@nastymk3 It's not the traditional rear end in that car. you have 2 rear control arms 2 CV Joints that turn the rear axle (no drive shaft) Just like the Corvette. Those control arms are prone to rotting out. I changed both of mine already. If you get a very loud ticking noise you'll swear lifters because of the AFM System but more times than not it's coming from the bell housing. I changed that out to. the car now has 95K on it. No need to change up gears the car will hit the limiter at 162 MPH at 5500RPM.
The other caprice and g8s ive seen do the rear end swap have more than half a second in the quarter mile and some cars have reduced there 0-60mph by 1 second

Damn that thing is clean. You ruined traffic heading back home. NJ uses those as ghost cars on the highways.😅

Congrats man, I’m planning on picking up a 2014 this coming weekend. After driving a new 5.0 I realized how much I wanted a V8
I really enjoy the car. I just put an 10% smaller undrive pulley and got it tuned. The performance is night and day difference.

That's one hot car. Pisses me off what GM is doing these days compared to just 7 years ago.
Mods finna go crazy 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That's the plan
❤ good pick up bro I love mine I got a 2012 doing a LSA swap on it
A white caprice in my area pulled up on me with a lsa making 800 whp, quick car and sounded good through the stock mufflers
That's a Nice 1...i been looking for 1 for awhile.. everybody is buying them up in the bay area...doggin them at these sideshows...
Gas mileage is good but I like driving it daily
Sleeper, take it down to Delaware to RPM and have them “breath” on the engine and get some super shock absorbers and top notch tires
I put coilovers on the car and yes I need new tires. These all weather cop tires suck during hard acceleration, just a spin fest
I want one so bad!!😢
Get one
This is the detective edition with the nice interior. Volumes weird on every model .
I don't use the radio volume nob only the steering volume adjustment. I want to unlock the radio and put some good speakers in the car
