You know what's a great idea? Scale this up 4x and make a patio umbrella with built in fans and misters.
You hit the nail right on the head!
They sell fan misters that really work, and just get a patio umbrella or tent shade.
Nice idea but I just want to wind up patio umbrella at the end of the season and call it a day. If I had to worry about fan blades and water tubes and whatever, it honestly becomes the hassle from another planet.
Add solar to the top to auto-power the fan and an adjustable timer for the mist sprits and you have yourself a great hot day patio umbrella. Though, now it's probably going to be a 500 dollar umbrella.
@@Snerdles great ideas.
James, you're just too kind. For this price, I think it's a dud. The fan only works for still wind conditions and the mister doesn't seem to mist, it rains. I think the bottle hanging at the bottom would be too heavy for me after awhile, too.
"The Opposite Umbrella."
It's more of a parasol than an umbrella. Yes, technically, the term "umbrella" can refer to parasols, but it's clearly something made to provide shade, not to provide protection from rain.
Umbrellas but if they were evil.
@@RaynmanPlays - Thanks. That was a point of contention that we clearly needed to be defined for the purposes of the joke.
Remember That time the wind broke your aluminum skeleton, It was my reverse umbrella!
@@thenewamaster Evil? I love playing in the rain.
Batteries not included.. everyone who was a child in the 90s just had a major flashback ❤
Yep and Moms screaming at Dad after midnight....you forgot the batteries....😂😂😂😂😂
Child in most any recent decade.
Yes i did 😂❤
Awww...thats cute. The battery problem has been in place since the 50s! Yup, we old people experienced Christmas morning battery angst, too. Imagine that! 😂
Don't forget the 1987 film!
Shame the mist mechanism wasn't better engineered
Yeah definitely is for the price a damn shame
The main feature lol
It works...dont need it to be auto. Just mist "as needed"
A mist-opportunity, ta dum tsss...
Looks like a great idea but could be improved. I live in a humid climate so the mist wouldn't be very helpful. I think you did a comparison about some products in dry and humid environments but I'd love to see a review focused on staying cool in humid environments!
If they had an adjustable, battery-operated mister either built into the handle or just above the head, it would be a winner. And yeah humid-weather gadgets are tough for me, although I've done a couple while traveling, such as the Koldtec Towel.
Seems to me like as a proper UV/sun-blocking umbrella it's well made... but the fan and mist features need a little more fleshing out. Nice to see the batteries last a ridiculously long time instead, though. Guarantees at least a full day of use. This certainly seems to also not be a good product for humid areas, although the fan might be kind of alright. I think some of these products just need a few tweaks, like a bigger and stronger fan motor and then bam it's good to go.
He didn't actually test the uv blocking though unless I missed it.... It might not actually do much to block uv :/
The point of the fan is a light freeze to cool the mist, so if there’s a breeze outside you won’t feel the fan On.
And it sprays the top of the umbrella and soaks the mesh so the fan is blowing cool air. I think a better understanding of the intended use would have helped you lol, but if there’s average person doesn’t know then that’s the company’s fault lol.
Hmm Maybe some crushed ice in the bottle for a cooler mist/rain.
See Baileys smart, she just sits under the tree for shade
I had this in my shopping cart and was thinking about it. I have a UV blocking umbrella already and love it but the fan and mist was appealing to me. Your review came at the perfect time. thanks a bunch!
This umbrella solves the age old question: what if your umbrella keeps you TOO dry
Maybe for Vegas, but that would make anybody in a more humid climate feel sticky!!
Honestly, living in Florida, when I'm outside working during the summer I'd much rather have misting on me than nothing at all. Not as effective as a dry climate but I'd probably give it a shot
I live in Dixie....we have like 30 words for humidity lol. A mister would do exactly that, make you miserable....but with a fan on you as well? It should still be effective, especially versus nothing.
@@IMDARKFIRE007 here in the Arizona desert we have numerous words for hot. The top 3 for me is “hot as hell”. 109° here today.
@@HunterHerbst I live on the Texas Gulf Coast. The idea behind misting is evaporative cooling. With our humidity that would just add wet that won't evaporate. It's a pass for me.
@@jwall6006 The you are exactly the person this is aimed towards. Me living in New England this would be next to useless. The mist is probably drier than the ambient air!
Your reaction to the mist made me burst out laughing. Thank you for being the guinea pig so we can avoid products like this.
Can't wait for more real world tests for beating the summer heat! You're definitely in the place to be for the worst case scenarios!
I imagine they didn't add an automatic mister because the tiny pump necessary to make that happen would be loud and annoying.
The reverse Umbrella somehow turned out to be real, and no longer exists in cartoon world only anymore.
😂
Love seeing Bailey, such a lovely dog.❤
Best part of the video: Bailey havin a heckin adventure in the backyard
I just can’t stop Laughing Out Loud with it raining under the umbrella. Thanks for this entertaining review! ❤😂
Fr 😂😂
It's not just an umbrella, it's an adventure...
If it actually worked as intended, this would be amazing for folks like me with sun sensitivity. I'm from Jersey and the summer beach is a huge part of the culture here. I grew up going all the time but I'm on meds now that make me burn super easy. I actually carry around an umbrella outside when I go, the sand ones don't cut it.
That's really cool that you can attach disposable water bottles to this, but it's a shame Aquafina doesn't fit 😂. Dasani bottles better work! Otherwise, you're going to be going to a lot of venues where that thing can't attach, lol.
The fan part is pretty cool.
Interesting concept: an umbrella that rains on you. As for the bottles, the threading is important.
That reminds me of the penguins umbrella LOL when you turned the fan on! 😂🐧☔
lol 😂
One gust of breeze, and the umbrella tips over.
Nice review. Love the concept.
Who was it that said "There's a sucker born every minute"?
Seems reasonable in a very few very dry climates where a misting system works.
1:41 Its so interesting how you mentioned that. Over in Bangladesh, we believe in the same exact thing.
More Bailey, please
James needs a separate Bailey sub-channel.
Hey man, love the content! Was wondering if you still planned on filming at the other apartment? I enjoyed the videos did comparing multiple products at the same time
You are so Freaking Awesome.
Thank you for so much information.
I didn’t mind you opening the umbrella indoors in terms of bad luck, but I was surprised you sprayed the water indoors! 😆
i have a sun blocking umbrella that i love, none of the other stuff like a fan or mister but it was definitely a lifesaver in summer
Looks like it could be useful for some people. Thanks for the review and the video
I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...
more a _spray_ than a "mist"
A smell people talked about could have been resold returns that were wet inside and never allowed to dry before being returned.
Looks like it would be heavy with the water bottle which may be hard for some people to hold and pump at the same time.
An umbrella that rains on you. Nice.
That's more of a parasol 🏖️
The idea is definitely there! I hope there’s improvement. I wonder if finer mesh would help some? I don’t think it’s the solution though.
This is the kind of content I subscribed for
To the boneyard with this thing! 🤣💀
Looking like breaking bad with you sitting in the desert there. 😂
my positives on it: I love how opaque it is & the size. Where I live we call large umbrellas "house & land"
Bored with umbrellas that keep you dry ? Let’s make one that’s gets you wet 😁
If there was a version without the mist option and thus cost less, I would be interested
What you really need in your backyard is a swimming pool. I really admire you for all your gadget testing. I am a sucker for any and all gadgets. About 50% of the time most gadget do not work. I also have a bone yard. Thank you.
An umbrella that rains on the inside.. I'm baffled
Mist will definitely get all over my glasses
Now it's raining under the umbrella 😂
This umbrella comes with it's own rain! 😂
Chair with a cupholder would go hard with that
"The most ironic umbrella ever."
When James starts laughing like that, it's a bad sign
Hey James not a question about the umbrella but is that a squirrel escape ramp that you have "holding up" your wall in your yard? As someone who has dogs that love chasing something furry that's running away I appreciate that.
The UN-brella
I like it!
It's great for the Disney World parks (and any other theme park by extension) in Florida since it blocks the sun and it cools down
2:41 😆
It's only good in a dry climate.
Right now I'm perfectly comfortable in my house in NM cooled by an evaporative cooler which works like a big humidifier, and it's 97⁰F outside.
It works best if the mist is extremely fine. If you feel drops like that, it's too coarse.
How ironic, an umbrella that sprays water on you. It’s like selling ice to Eskimos.
Actually, patio misters are very common in places like Arizona, in private homes and public places like outdoor cafes, and is very effective. You usually don't feel water, it just feels like a cool breeze.
It's more like selling heat to Eskimos.
Man--I’m going to a picnic this weekend. I wish I knew about this thing sooner.
This but the stationary patio furniture equivalent of it is excellent on a hot day. I don't know about walking around with this whole setup. Ive seen tubing kits you can mount to items like umbrellas.. you just hook your hose up for the pressure.. forget a manual trigger.
Thank yo so much for telling it in centigrade. :)
Raining umbrella, interesting, but I'm not sold, lol.
indoors badluck? do they make them outside?😂
Looks like all it's good for us shade and a bottle of water to drink and not two hands. Maybe if the mister ends were pointed downward might not hit umbrella ceiling and drip. But with the mister drips, personally I'd use bottle for drinking when walking
Won't work for me very well. I live somewhere too humid
was just in the area, and WOW!!! Wish I had this. over 100 every day. It was HOT..
Also.. wow the construction going on. Poor workers needed one of these too!
THE IRONY OF RAINING IN THE UMBREALLA
In Australia we'd need to add a bunch of strings with corks attached (or a large net) to keep the bloody flies off!
I've been seeing more people using these at Disney World during the hot summers 😂
The dog has more sense, sitting under the tree😅
I wish I had this in France recently, got sun stroke and threw up 😖 Looks like it provided a ton of shade
I always heard if you open an umbrella indoors it'll rain. Maybe for Vegas that's a good thing!
There is this umbrella from Jisulife(Jisulife FA52) with just the fan. The better thing about is it that its rechargeable, and its foldable and can be put in a bag.
They should make the bottle shaped like a cone so you really could just stand the umbrella up. The mist and fan idea is good in arid zones but not in places that are humid.
I have the rechargeable one and it has been a life saver
You opened a umbrella indoors😮😂
The only real use for something like this would be at an amusement park imo. It's the only place you would have access to free water, would probably be out in the sun long enough to warrant using it, and have enough places to rest or prop the umbrella down so your arms don't get tired. At around $50, it's not outrageously expensive for an umbrella. It's a bit expensive but not so much that it's complete nonsense to get this over a regular umbrella. Especially since the umbrella itself seems pretty well-made.
It's great for walking to and from bus stops and waiting at bus stops when you're carless in hot climates.
3:16 that's what she said.
nice lawn
For that umbrella, they should include a solar panel (flexible ones) to charge the battery, or one that charges whilst you walk.
Selling an umbrella that only rains under the umbrella is diabolical
"Welcome back everything"!!!!! :)
It's a bummer that it costs so much already. It could easily be upgraded with a rechargeable battery, fan motor for power, and misting mechanism. I'd love to see a RUclips maker give this an ultimate upgrade.
Need to incorporate the fan and mister into a Brockabrella.
(Yes, I'm from the STL area)
Bad luck to open up am umbrella indoors lol
Your always in the real world
You would think since it’s an umbrella, it would be solar powered or at least have the option of it not just using batteries
What about the weight having to carry that full water bottle at an unusual angle? Seems like the hand would get tired.
Ahh yes, the umbrella designed to wet you…ingenious
Well, if you want to use the umbrella for the hot sun, great. If you need it for rain protection, the misting function kinda defeats the whole purpose of the umbrella. But then again, you don't really need to use it like that.
let’s gooo new video
portable shower 😆
You can enjoy the rain even on a sunny day!
The mic that you are using is it compatible for a iPhone. ?
speaking of batteries--- could you check pale blue rechargeable batteries? they look interesting-- each individual battery can be recharged with a usb-c. not sure if i'm ready to pull the trigger. love to see you test them.
i would think if you put ice or put the bottle in the freezer for a bit till it started to freeze it might make a difference. you have to try it as an umbrella in a storm
Feel like this is a good idea if it was like, maybe 5x bigger, could connect it to a big jug, was more stable and was automatic so you could set it to mist every couples minutes or something for a picnic or at the beach. So basically change like, almost everything about it lol
