As a certified water operator, I'd like to point out that situations like the first clip are very rare. That is NOT what most mains or transmission lines look like. Most of them today are made of c900 pvc pipe or HDPE pipe. Neither or which corrode. Old pipe such as galvanized may be in use on some very old mains but most places have replaced them. On a separate note, depending on the composition of your water, deposits may form. Take a look at your water district's consumer confidence report (CCR) which MUST be public info(in my state at least) to see where your water comes from and if there have been any violations!
Whoever your editor is does a hell of a job😂

Our apartment complex has banned the use of ANY wipes by the residence. The city had to come out and service the main from the street to the complex. They pulled out about a 5 pound mass of wipes. (Both baby wipes and 'flush able') And our building's had the same problem 3 times.
yeah, same here. i used to use even those cottenelle wipes and they clogged too. had to call a plumber 3 times in a month. once i quit flushing them, never had a problem since
@@JasonHalversonjaydog I hear ya. We live in the lower (1/2 basement 1/2 above ground) apartment. So you can guess who gets the "Surprise" first when the mains are plugged. And of course, even if you tell the people that live above you not to flush or shower until it gets fixed? Pretty bad. (It's usually fixed within a few hours....we have the guy on speed dial)
Roger and his editing team is such a perfect duo of funny!! I LOVE THESE VIDS! 😂😂😂
Wrong video to eat dinner to
that last one at the end was my fav... what a great way to change that shower in a good way and not have it be a mess.
Who ever came up with that pipe wrench holder is a genius
i welded a table for my computer out of kindorf (unistrut)
Was that water main from DC? LOL
This guy looks like if James Hetfield took a turn into plumbing if the music group didn't work out after the original bassist's death.
wow, that water main should be brita's marketing strategy photo.
side question; ever see 1/8 to 1/16th inch of green goop inside copper pipes that dries to white?
I have a theory that to much flux can make that worse. But yeah. Ive seen old 1\2 inch galvanized pipe that was so scaled that it killed the water pressure.
@@clintdavis9511 Has nothing to do with flux, it's oxidization.
I love your videos, man. It's inspirational to watch someone whose passion is genuine.
The last video with tub shower valve re and re making people happy for 1/4 of price plus having the skills to do the work priceless 💪
1:16 that looks like lead and oakum cast iron. never knew they used that for water.
A long time ago they did i believe. Some places are fighting improper pipe installation that was put in the ground before they knew the consequenses. Asbestos pipe was even used for a while.
Lead pipes were used for drinking water in old city service lines, and in some fixtures in period commercial buildings (porcelain drinking fountains). Cast iron was used for wastewater and underground storm lines, it could also be clay or a mixture of both. It was never used on service lines because it cannot be pressurized. I have cast iron pipe on my toilet stack for a 1950 house. My house supply lines are all copper with lead solder joints - nothing to worry about.
Asbestos pipe was never used for drinking water, the person that made that comment was incorrect. They are thinking of the instances of where pipes would be WRAPPED in asbestos tubing for fire protection (fire sprinkler service) and may have also been flocked with a plaster like asbestos coating to protect from the cold in basements, attics, etc. The pipes are just standard steel pipes or cast iron. Asbestos is a fireproofing agent and insulator, it has no application to water itself.
@@MrWolfSnack they actually did use lead and oakum for water lines at one point, i saw a few old pictures about them constructing those old water lines. asbestos water lines where also used I saw old advertisements for them.
Don't forget, guys, Don't put rhubarb down the kitchen sink or garbage disposal!!! Big mess !!
Person: buys mineral supplement pills.
Person: also buys a water filtration device to soften the water.
😂
Backwater sewer valve I constantly replace. AND when your house backs up underneath it’s almost impossible to run your snake towards the house.
I never knew I would be so interested in plumbing videos. You look like a really cool dude to sit down and have a beer with. Keep it up!
we got a call years ago from a customer that had a licensed company jet there stoppage (towards) the house, needless to say the ceilings and walls inside were covered in fecal matter and sewage water. blew the pipe loose under the house too. we declined to mess with it. we didnt want anything to do with that mess-Roger it was sooooooo bad..
That guy in the first video has no idea how lucky he was to get that binded up snake back
I put a backflow trap on my sewer line because the city sewer ALWAYS backs up
Tree roots are always fun !! Lol 😆!
I don't have video of this since it about 10 years back but we have a chinese ginkgo in our front yard that was about 6 inches across at the time and it found the sewer line, crushed it, and put a single root thick enough to fill the entire 5in sewer line.
0:22 seconds in and already I’m getting CoD WaW zombies flashbacks
I passed my plumbing 1 final yesterday!!...next step....ON CALL😳
gotta give props to not only you but also your editor, he's a G :'D
"and that's what I call a quality H2O" my new fave Adam Sandler clip

your production value has gone way up! good job
my favorite is disliked the most -the cleanout under a house with wipes coming out of it.
No kidding, if I'm having to crawl around on my hands and knees in a puddle of your feces, the check book is coming out.
first video reminde me of when we replumbed our old house, the old galvanized water pipes looked like that on the inside, and this was after the water filter right before it went to the faucet. made me think of all the times drinking the water out of there over the years!
A water filter won't remove that. It's just natural corrosion of the metal reacting to the water sitting in the pipe. You can have a pipe cutter run through to sand it down but it will just come back again.
Roger, that "big" escutcheon thing is a GREAT IDEA. I literally just finished replacing my 12H-2H/C stems (and new diverter stem) on my 1972 shower valve. I'd love to be able to replace the whole thing but it's either re-tile or remove kitchen cabinets to get to it.
I have to have that kit!!
Thanks dad stache. Love your videos...so, I have an old Ridgid pipe threader. It's big. Was dad's. Not sure what kind of person would be interested in buying. Do you know who would want something like that? Don't wanna scrap the thing
What is the rules about soldering pipes in the US?
In my country you have to sitt and have fire inspection 2-3 hours after you Are finnished with the soldering in case stuff carches fire
You missed where he is sticking the hose into the sewer line without a vacuum breaker at the hose bibb crossing potable water with non potable
I literally get my drinking water from a public fountain because of mainlines like this (I live in Rome, there are plenty of little "tap-fountains" running 24\7).
the problem for casey was that his pipe had collapsed, before that he was having a long fight trying to get his basement walls repaired, we assumed that his pipe broke sometime during wall repair
His editor knows his memes: 10/10
Love the unistrut idea
The water boy clip killed me 😂
That backflow preventer reminded me of a job I did in Reno, I show up and I got a competitor next door, a different competitor across the street, two more a few houses away, on the other side I see a septic truck pumping out a basement, disaster cleanup vans. All these plumbers are snaking away in the front yards and it didn’t occur to a single one of them that the odds of that many houses backing up independently is astronomical. I called the city , they showed up, cleared the main and I sold a backflow preventer to my customer. Our company ended up installing over a dozen on that street alone.
My parents blocked the drain once by putting potato peel slices down the garbage disposal lesson learnt
The slices were so thin that they slipped passed the blades and went straight into the drain my dad pulled the pipes apart and it was jam packed with potato now my mom just throws them away 😂😂
Compost bin is pretty handy too.
I made some unistrut pipe wrench holders for my work van. That was my favorite part of this video. This is something easily implemented and a quality of life improvement.
Damnnn. Been watching these videos the past couple of Days. Now I'm wondering if I should learn the plumbing trade next.
Drops intricate plumbing schematic knowledge and then says, "maybe you wouldn't need a plumber"
All my districts do not have the main like that..
I think every plumber has made that mistake
Its not often I notice good editing. Well done
Thanks!
As a plumber, we know things, like what the water pipes look like, and that just changes your whole outlook
Hi Roger! Loves from Turkey 🇹🇷, I wonder if you ever use PPRC piping (which use with plastic pipe welding machine) it’s very common in Turkey like everywhere! If you haven’t seen it give it a shot and try please! I would like to see you to try to learn it and share your opinion and introduce us! Thank you ❤️🤍❤️🤍❤️

Roger, any thoughts on Watts One Flow? I saw them on large commercial projects & invested in for my house, I feel they operate as described.
Just wondering if you have ran into one.
No flushable wipes don’t work. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to unstop a sewer line and the customers state they use flushable wipes 😂
Louisiana plumber here. How do you feel about Texas not requiring licences for plumbing work to be done on residential property.
Roger it's been 6 years since I been out of trade school I still haven't found job as helper or apprentice.

This is why I refuse to drink tap water! Spring fed baby!
well water FTW.
I love your videos a ton! I actually thought about getting into a trade and i was weighing plumbing vs electrician and i decided that I'd rather be zapped and see Sky Daddy than stick my hand into a septic tank. Im also tryna find a channel similar to yours but more electrician themed. If anyone has any recommendations I'd be more than happy to look into them
If you do new contruction plumbing (I like commercial) and stay away from repair/service you will only be using new material.

2 questions, 1 are you ever going to do a truck layout video showing how you like your trucks set up and two do you have any trucks with the KUV body style ? Just got a new F350 with the KUV and trying to get it set up functionally.
how does one become a plumber as an adult
Start calling plumbing shops and ask if they're looking for reliable help.
Can you use lead and oakum on a shower drain instead of the rubber gasket.
I put darn near an entire bag of spinach down the disposal soon after I moved into my house. That was NOT a good idea.
Throw food waste in the trash or onto your lawn for the birds and squirrels and other critters to eat on. A garbage disposal is useless. It was a flawed concept to fool the public into thinking they were keeping waste from the landfill, they aren't. All it does is filter into the wastewater treatment plant in your city onto their debris collection screen, get picked out, then loaded into a dump truck and taken to the landfill. All it does for you is keep you buying a garbage disposal every 5 years and keeping plumbers in business.
that last one is great
Rodger looks like he’s gonna say “brother” at any moment
I love that little waterboy plug in the begging
hahaha love your videos 👌

please do a video on 10 most specialist tools used by plumbers (for example: 32mm hole cutter for stainless steel, tap valve reseater, pushing rods)

@@RogerWakefield awesome videos by the way, i appreciate your work. p.s. does plumbing differ significantly from country to country? like electrical does (110v/220v, socket fittings)? i often watch your videos but the where i am from we dont get things like 'shark bite fittings' - we only have brass compression fittings or plastic ones (belong in the rubbish bin). but a toilet is a toilet and a water heater is a water heater...not exactly, there seems to be quite a few differences in american plumbing and south african plumbing. anyway i would love to do a stint of plumbing in texas if theres an opportunity ever. maybe you can do a video about the differences in international plumbing?
Love that water boy reference
i work for a sanitation company in California, the pay is ok but id like to make a little more money. what is a good way to get into the trade of plumbing?
I think every plumber has taken a ptrap off and dumped it in the sink at least once. My first and last time was right in front of a customer's entire family 😂 oops 😬
Don't remind me. Luckily there was nobody watching me.
I'm not a plumber, working towards it, but the first time I replaced a ptrap I did it. Girlfriend laughed and I smacked my head on the cupboard
Ngl...
I'd use cottonelle wipes if they werent so damned expensive...
Baby wipes up here are like... 3$ for a bag that lasts me half a year, easy.
Cottonelle want anywhere from 11$ to 15$ for a pack that might make it through a month.
Now... I don't use wet wipe stuff daily, and we've yet to have a problem with it, but I honestly can't imagine how I could justify spending that much for so little...
Don’t flush them down the toilet, simple
some people never worked on a shower or toylet and think toylets are nastiest when it comes to pipes but oh my showers are way worse in every way
Lol..As a plumber I approve 👌
that's just got me wondering the question how countries like Scotland in particular don't have fluoride in the water supply. because if its to reduce mold and the like, why is it not common

More like "Tiktok makes me sick". It's the entire app lol
I pulled out a fork out of a p trap because somehow it went down the disposal and it clogged the kitchen sink p trap lol
Roger, have you seen on youtube The Drain Unblockers?
I haven't seen their channel specifically but I do like binge watching drain unblocking videos, so satisfying.
i did the same thing with the pea trap duped it right back in sink DOOOOHHHH
The build in the pipe has nothing to do with why there is chlorine in the water. That is false information.
Ease up on the memes, edits, and other wacky stuff
I believe up north we are not allowed to have plumbing run through exterior walls... so that method is the only way to get new plumbing installed
Hey I live about 20-15 mins from dallas, what qualifications are required to be a Plummer/work for you?
Idek why but I’m addicted to this channel

Just FYI, CVS Flushable wipes dissolve really well too, and they're way cheaper than Cottonelle and almost always buy one get one half off.
listening to him talking about plumbing makes me wanna be a plumber myself lol
that waterboy clip caught me off guard i started dying from that
I did a house about a month ago and pulled thousands of wipes off my cable. It was literally 3 stacks knee high
