I used Christian Filipina and the very last week of my 18 month subscription I met one beautiful young Pinay. She has been the twinkle in my eyes ever since. Everything he said is true about their staff being so well trained to make sure you are matched with a good Filipina that truly share their Christian values. I'm currently in Cebu but I'm from Grand Rapids Michigan.

My best friend in Indiana met his Filipina wife on Christian Filipina 21 years ago as she is from Cebu and they were the ones who started me on my Journey when they asked me to join them some years ago. Now I am moving there in July and they will follow in 2025. I Hope and Pray that Jason & Joy have many Happy years together as a successful couple. I also hope where they live are some other Filipinos she can reach out to as my Hometown has a Filipino store and a Large community i didn't know about at first as it has been a Lifeline back home and even serves Filipino food daily.

Noticed right away and agree with you, something wasn't right. She kept looking off to the side and looked upset, cold, unfeeling and robotic. Zero personality. Only couple of grins when Jason mentioned something that would have been embarrassing, yet where he was just being open & authentic.
I think he's a catch and he could do better.

I came to Philippines in March of 2014 to meet in person my now wife. Had talked to her for several months and it was her Aunt that introduced us. I started the K-1 visa paperwork the first part of April 2014 and she arrived in the US October 4th, 2014, it was fairly easy doing it myself. We married December 8th, almost 10 years! I'm retired and will hopefully be moving there within a year to Western Samar.

I have observed that people get together for a lot of different reasons. It seems a lot of relationships, especially later in life, are a type of arrangement that has to work on a practical level but hopefully includes some romance, passion and love. Sometimes when people get together for practical reasons, if they are both of good character and treat each other respectfully, real lasting love can grow.

I've been all the way down this road with a non-Philippina. I'd be VERY concerned about what he is about to do. I'm not seeing the enthusiasm (On her part) and I don't suspect it is nervousness. Not only is he likely to take some lumps, but there will be impact on the children....I've seen cases where it ruins parent/child relationship permanently. Ex wife, teenage kids, new somewhat younger Philippina wife. But hey, once the man is in the mindset, there is no stopping him...good luck.

Good morning from Florida Paul. Great video and interview.
Years ago, I went through the K-1 visa process with my former/ex-Venezuelan wife.
For me, the process was very smooth and simple. As long as you fill out the forms correctly you have your tax statements and income statements. I did not even use an attorney. I did it myself, and it was very smooth.
That was a very long time ago, but everything is good and amicable
I’ll be in the Philippines next month. Considering making it my home I’ll scout out the different locations. Visit all the different beautiful islands, beaches, waterfalls and I’ll allow things to develop organically and naturally. Hopefully I’ll find the girl of my dreams 🐸✌🏽
Also, hopefully our pass will cross in person. Love to stop by and say hello. Peace brother. ✌🏽😃

I welcome her to the USA! She will feel comfortable here. Thousands of Philipinos reside in virtually every US city and have made a successful home here. Here in NYC, I attended Palm Sunday mass and half of the attendees hailed from the Phillipines. As a career tv and film person, I’d implore him to get back into his career instead of the non profit endeavor. He has an opponent to bank a nice amount towards social security and before you know it 10-15 years will be here and he will be set.

Well, he keeps looking at her constantly very deep with dark glasses on like he's not sure of her reaction. If she ends up in the U.S. there're going to be so many moving parts, teenage kids from previous marriage, former wife around, new surroundings, it's going to be very complicated.

I also hired a visa company - they are good at doing the paperwork but the process includes hours and days of submitting so many documents, photos, certificates and statements.
I applaud you acknowledgement of the difficulty with your children. You are realistic! Be patient - kids often have issues with new moms or dads.

All the best to them ❤ I want to wish them every happiness in the world.
I’ve tried the do it yourself method a couple of times with Filipina’s. I learned more about what not to do, than what to do.
Christian Filipina is an option, but I’m 22 months from retirement, and I almost think I’m better off waiting until I can come to the Philippines for 6-8 months and meet someone, versus trying to prime the pipeline before coming over for my 4 week vacation.
I will say this for those that are fans of the Old Dog Channel, but have never been to the Philippines. You owe it to yourself to make a trip over. I remember how my mindset went from “I’m 60, and going to be alone for the rest of my life,” to “wow, there are so many beautiful women here, and they actually enjoy talking to me!”
Make the trip over, you will not regret it…

That made me sad. bringing your filipina back to the US is usually a really bad idea. it's a declining culture and things will be very different for her there. Why take a beautiful fish back to a dirty pond? (I am engaged to a filipina and we will live there next year. I would never bring her back here to the US. Ever). I do wish them both the absolute best.! (EDIT: just saw she does not want to go. oh dear.)

@@Jkaye13 ironic that he said American women’s body language wasn’t positive and they wanted to know what you had to give them. This poor girls body language says she is miserable but knows she must do this to financially help her family. She is already obviously miserable. Can u imagine when she gets to USA away from her child and family? It’s pitiful to have to sacrifice your life for the good of family. Soooo sad.

Joy just does not appear to be looking forward to the U.S., seems to be afraid of what's coming with his kids and his ex. I think he needs to reassure her over and over again that she is the one and that he will protect her from any harm. Right now, it appears she would rather wait for him in the Philippines. Can't blame her.

I have lived this. I was married the first time in 1979. Took my Filipina wife to the US. I know that you are thinking that there was a big age gap. No I was only 1 year older. Marriage lasted 5 years. Filipino friends, gambling and infidelity killed that one. Second marriage in 1989. That marriage lasted 12 years. It was actually over at 10 years but I kept trying to hold on. I lived in San Diego, California in a Filipino neighborhood with neighbors co-workers and friends. Like I said I have personally known hundreds of Filipina and American couples. The only ones that i have seen last are the very religious ones and the ones that just looked the other way. I wish you the best of luck but once she starts making friends there's a very good chance things will change.

Province Smile is probably the best RUclips channel about the Philippines IMHO, prior to moving to the Philippines. I watched a lot now that I live here that’s the only one I continually watch no offense old dog, but the only reason I watched this episode is because of The thumbnail of them and I was curious what they had to say most of the others RUclips channels on the Philippines the information is repetitive and targeted towards people who are considering moving here.

Paul, could you do an episode on Social Security survivor's benefits and how a Filipina widow would go about getting them? I am not sure, but it looks like the Filipina would have to reside in the USA for a minimum of 5 years and it doesn't have to be consecutive 5 years. There may be another qualifying factor(s) - one would be if there were kids involved.
It would be great to bless a widow with a monthly income for the rest of her life.
Another related topic that I believe would be of great interest to Expats is "PRE-NUPTIAL AGREEMENTS". Since many of us codgers have had children from a previous marriage, we want to make sure our kids from our first marriage get an inheritance. Does Phillipines law recognize/honor pre-nups? Red tape?
Are most of the Expats that you know concerned about what happens (financially) to the Filipina once we have stopped orbiting around the sun? And what plans have they made for her?
    Thanks Paul

My wife and I journey was a little different because she was in the U.S. and we requested a change of status. It took about 18 months to get our interview which was for her green card and permanent residency. The key thing was during the interview the immigration officer was reviewing photos of the two of us together when she can upon a photo of my wife and I meeting and shaking hands with Joel Olstien. The officer was a born again Christian so we told her the story how on a prior visit I flew my wife to Houston. My wife was approved on the spot our lawyer said he had never seen that before always taking a few weeks to review. My point was Joy or any young Filipina if they can find a connection to the immigration officer. The officer will believe them and know they are truthful.
    Best of luck

It is amazing how the Filipina women have learned how to change their location by using a feature called travel mode... I have been contacted by several ladies already even though the app was suppose to show me profiles of locals... When I make contact with then I was amazed that they are not near my location.... They use a feature called Travel Mode which shows them men in other locations.
