    It most likely blew because of the stock connecting rod. The stock oil scooper can shear off at high rpms causing and engine failure. That piece you were holding was the bottom part of the rod.

  • @Pyrex209
    @Pyrex209 2 года назад +6

    Threw the rod, caused by riding the bike for a long period of time, stock parts were not made to hold up for long periods of time with those upgrades, Usually with stage 1 you don't wanna do more than about a minute straight full throttle. If you want a reliable engine you need to upgrade the rod, flywheel, and rockers + springs, cam for extra power something light like a 265 cam

    If you want all that RPM you have to build to support it. And keep in mind you were lucky to not be injured by the exploding parts that came out. Otherwise a pretty cool riding video.
    Could you do a video of the engine disassembly so we can see the damage?

    It’s the connecting rod you need to get a billet rod in a billet fly wheel and then you should be good that’s what happens on those motors

    This is why I don't remove my governor. If you want better speed cut throttle stop screw and get bigger front sprocket +torque converter.

      Lower the gearing less stress it has on motor

  • @Davey-zf4zb
    @Davey-zf4zb 2 месяца назад +1

    Probably ran it low on oil. That creates excessive friction,that creates extra heat, then you get structural failures in the heavy stress points in the engine. A.K.A. you threw a rod dude. Tjat chunk was the lower end of your connector rod where it bolts together with the rod end cap that connects it to your bottom end(engine crank) when y9u blow up an engine thats what they mean. Catastrofic engine failure in the bottomnend of an engine is as bad as it gets. Yor rod end cap bolts were probably over tightened so it was bound to happen eventually. Cheap parts in cheaply designed engines means its only a matter of time till something snaps or seizes and depending on where the damage is and how severe you can or cannot rebuild it. You need a new block and rod and with the damage that does you need to just get a whole complete engine. Put a good rod and piston in the next one and head gasket and itll run for many years.

  • @vincentrobinette1507
    @vincentrobinette1507 6 месяцев назад

    That piece you picked up in the gutter is the crankshaft end of the connecting rod! Judging by how little oil loss there was, there's a real good chance, it ran low on oil.

    Too many rpm and you killed the big end of the connecting rod, it seized on the crank and exploded.

    I think it overheated causing the cylinder to start to lock up with the the piston resulting in the connecting rod to snap off the crankshaft.

    This is why you don't send mini bikes for hours a day. The engine prob overheated causing the piston rod to cease and then snap from the high rpm.

  • @georgemckenzie7524
    @georgemckenzie7524 Год назад

    I just seen your video that's a piece of the piston rod there can be a few different things that can cause an engine to throw a rod improper oil for that exact type of engine it over heating and to much ware and tare for what I hear is the most common but I am sure I am mistaking on that

  • @ryan93civic1
