but without those people we would not have these cars. if they were drove all the time they would become worn out. cars getting hoarded in old dusty garages are a good thing because it time capsules them for another generation. often at great prices too because the kids of the own dont know what they even have
spmil999 I bet it did too. Everyone knows what a batmobile looks like and even if you’re not a fan of Batman, that much attention could make anyone flock to him.
Casey has certainly had a fascinating car history. The fact that he was about to source a driver-example of one of these, enjoy it for the summer, and sell it later without any real expense is just awesome. Well done sir.
I love the Pre-war cars sadly can't afford it so I have decided old firearms, the kind that the engineering is so out there just like the cars of this period
easy to say when you have no concept of how money works. investing in such a car and coming out almost positive is insane. i doubt it was luck also. the man knows his trade, the amount of money he has have no impact on that.
Although I love and always appreciate a classic car, I completely disagree. The thing about new cars is they showcase innovation, progress from where cars started. I absolutely love the technological advances newer cars have pushing the limits people didn’t think we’d meet. But all of that being said I absolutely love, respect, admire car manufacturers roots, their start ups, and the classic cars that were once viewed as high tech modern vehicles.
The love and respect he has for every one of his cars is absolutely amazing. He's definitely the person I would want to promote my vehicle if I was an auto manufacturer. His passion is inspiring!
This guy is just living the dream life of Gatsby or even Hugh Hefner. Seriously one night he is Batman, other he is Gatsby, then he plays polo in Delorean and opens champagne with rapier... And at the weekends he fixes and makes track cars of wrecked vipers which he daily drives even through those don't even come with ABS or Traction Control... If I ever made a movie about James Hunt he would be my guy to play him!
@@CaseyPutsch as a twenty year old studying software your stories are so captivating it makes me want to just drop out , race and build cars and try to find some garage in which to do so, only I'm broke and have no knowledge of cars to that extent :(

That transportation museum is in Roanoke, VA. They will run the Norfolk & Western Class J 611 and Class A 1218 trains on public tracks from time to time. We always would go and see them here in Lynchburg, VA. It is a real treat to see them. Glad you got to enjoy them Casey.

Thank you guys for posting in the mornings. Every day before I have to non-stop be on the top of my game for my engineering courses I get to relax and enjoy the finer things in life, and I am grateful for that.
For many years now my all time pipe dream car has been a 1930s Cadillac Dual Cowl Phaeton with the 452 series V16 engine. They're all gorgeous and the sixteen cylinder engines are works of art.
cars like this are the best over all the high end cars today. these cars really do look lfun and are great from a whole different world. Thanks guys for something very different and love this story.
I dig this guy's stories. Also a fan of bye gone times and am very familiar with a certain shop that restored a lot of these pieces of art. I consider myself bottom rung, but have put some people in touch with other people to get beautiful things done. Those locomotives made my heart flutter a bit. My hometown once had the most powerful engine in the world to drag coal cars up a mountain, and there are always crazy stories about the old days. It is cool to see the appreciation for how we all got to where we are today.

Auburn's seem to create stories. Recently found out a close friend to my Boss has this journal from 1914 of his Dad taking a cross country trip in one. From the pics of the journey cross country to each journal entry of what they did, where they went and what happened was incredibly moving and aw inspiring for the time period.
The Auburn boat tail cars in my opinion are the most beautiful cars ever made. I used to dig through auto trader magazine back in the 80s and decided then that that car is the best. I love seeing a beautiful driving example on the road being loved by all!

If rob had this car for a summer, I’m sure he would have a story to tell.
I've gotta disagree, there plenty of beautiful new cars out there.
