:) There is will epic content in the future...@@McMaze72
And you can get him when the real Jenson Button won’t come to your event!
Only thing that would make this better is if he wore a tighter shirt
Casey has quickly become one of my favorites. Great car stories, great story telling.
And the weirdest questions of the day award goes to!@Clams McGee
@@CaseyPutsch There's always at least one of them in the comment section
Too true. I got spoiled by how cool the VinWiki crowd is. @@NateWest23
Clams McGee would you prefer the hate you get for being an asshole before or after the next comment you make? Because it’s coming, regardless of when you make it.
And to help, he looks sort of like Matt Damon 😂
"...is this how Bond super villains are made?" best response to being surrounded by stupidity
I LOVE your comment! :)
So true though.
Calling yourself smart is most likely a sign that your aren't very smart.
or a realization that there are a lot of stupid people. ^
Often times, yes. @@alexstromberg7696
Today I learned that canard also means "an unfounded story or rumor"...
HAHAHAHHA! Yeah, and here we were talking about aircraft.
@@CaseyPutsch canard means "duck" in french and is the root for both meanings. Props for being aware of Burt Rutan and LongEZ in high school :))
Thanks! Actually Genius Garage is getting a Burt Rutan designed Long EZ to teach with next week!!!!!!!@@socalguy829
@@CaseyPutsch shame Tennessee is so far away and I'm not in college. Genius garage sounds like an amazing opportunity and right up my ally.
I'm thinking about offering Genius Garage lessons on RUclips!@@justinsammonsjd7449
Imagine if I had more than 12 minutes to tell ALL the stories... ;) Hope you enjoy my high-school horrors!
Casey Putsch should of let it fly over your school.
I'm guessing there's several more fifths of an hour to come? Nay, hoping.
@@bfra881 They say discretion is the better part of valor. ;)
"That Putsch boy aint raight"
More to come!
@@Justpassingb1
Legend has it that there is a farmer in an Ohio nursing home still muttering "That Putsch boy ain't right!" to this day.
Most likely!
8th grade metalworking class for me included bringing a hatchet to school to get sharpened.
Teacher told us that sharpening was only 50% of the lesson, other 50% was the difference between a "tool" and a "weapon".
It was a different time....
Va Vo better culture were we instilled social and personal responsibility.
@@CaseyPutsch I was HS graduating class of 1999, same year as the Columbine shooting happened. Things changed after that....
Maybe the anger has been there all along and it was only, and sadly only a matter of time.
That day when Casey was tempted to become the urine bandit...
:) Almost... Almost...
Lmao... (Insert bad Top Gun line here): 'I feel the need... the need to stream...'
@@spikerawson4531 That's right! Ice.... Man. I AM dangerous!
LOL...!
Still can't get over you guys thought it was sap... what the hell did that guy ingest. A very visual tale, where I Invision you poor guys touching it with your hands and smelling it prior to the realization of what it was.
"That Putsch kid ain't right"
Casey's funniest video thus far!
Thanks!
You need to see the aristocrats joke
"boy you need a Chevy" speaks to my small Town self. *Drivers 88 Supra*
Lol same here, me and my buddy drive old saab 900's as our dailys. Most people in the town think they are some weird porsche xD
@@johnrouk8319 Oh man, the look on my dad's face when I told him bought a Toyota 86 was priceless.
Anyone else breathe a sigh of relief when they heard Casey's enthusiastic voice but found a shirt collar properly arranged?
This shirt had buttons to keep my collar at a lower altitude!
It depends on the program. Aerospace, I pop it! Racing... well I wanna pop it. Darn! I'm in trouble. :D@@SundarSrinivasHarish
I really like this guy, seems comfortable in front of camera and good at telling stories.

Man, everyone always says they hated high school, and I can definitely understand why, but I really had an awesome 4 years.
Last time I was this early, the stop light girl thought she was about to witness something impressive.
Man. Please never stop commenting on these videos, first thing I do is scroll down to find your comment lol.
Clint Gliford I need to be filled on this one plz
Ed, did you have to edit the end so he said "I held it all the way" instead of his first comment on tape? LOL - great video.
My question as well lol
All the way... to the school? XD
All the way... to the school? XD
Casey"s top-notch. Radiates great character. He"s fresh air in a smog filled atmosphere.
Most everyone feels awkward as a teen. I was THE only real car dork in school. Drawing them constantly. Got horrible grades in everything except english & music, but was a very deep thinker. I hung w/the burnouts ('70s/'80s jean jacket brigade) because I certainly didn't connect with no got-damn jocks. By 14 I "restored" a '58 Cadillac, and from 15 on I drove other ancient, massive torque-monster Cads, Lincolns, Electras and a '65 & a '71 Riviera to school. 'Course they thought I was a bit peculiar for my vehicular tastes, but doing tons of rust repair & occasionally flipping a car garnered me a couple bone$. They all liked muscle cars OF COURSE. None of the other burnouts seemed to have dough for a car, but they always had weed. "Columbian Gold" was the thing before the domestic growing boon. Every study hall 5 or 6 of us would pile in my luxo-barge and get completely fried. Never more than a handful of times did I ever have to purchase weed 'cause I had wheels. Girls you ask? HA! Nope. Not a one. The 2 or 3 that showed interest in me I didn't have the social skills/too shy. Thankfully I quit smoking by 22 but weed was a great gateway(ha!) out of my painfully shy, inward self. That, and my cars made school at least somewhat bearable and a little fun and a couple crazy stories came out of it. Oh, and the girl thing? That got way, way, WAY better once I started playing out in bands in beer joints and night clubs. Owned a shit-ton of '60s SAAB 95/96s, and a sweetheart of an Alfa. And I still have my own rust repair/fab shop, and lotsa big floaty behemoths, but all ChryCos. Thank you for the GREAT stories VINwiki !!!!!
Casey does have a lot of good stories
Love this story & Rob Pitts "Dad" story. Casey's HS experience reminds me of older daughter's 'career' in HS, where she doesn't fit in but keeps on slogging through. 5 languages, graduates with an Associates before high school graduation (thank you Running Start) and replied to the captain's question about what else the Air Force would benefit her with at her ROTC interview, " I do want to take Psychological Warfare at the Air War College at Maxwell, it'll help me in everything I do later in life." Casey, I think I vividly see the pictures you paint in this narrative
olikat8 thank you and thanks for sharing your story too!!
@@CaseyPutsch welcome Casey- great stories.
I believe you wrote me a message somewhere and now I can't find it. ?@@olikat8
Love Casey's stories. Great mix of passion, knowledge and self-deprecation.
I have a lot of respect for Casey for what he’s done, but after hearing his story, my respect for him is beyond words. Great dude and we honestly need more people like him in the world
Him: "I did hold it all the way"
Me: BULLSHIT!
man this guy has the best stories
The part about focusing on cars to get us trough whatever we’re in is very relatable, it’s the aspersions us car guys have for the better.
Definitely need to see some more stories for him, I loved this!
Cheers!
Yeah right! you peed all over that place like your name was R. Kelly
Casey's best story yet methinks. Watching these videos, it's easy to see how and why Casey has been successful in his endeavors. Well done sir.
I enjoy starting my day with breakfast & VINwiki videos

Casey is the man! Great Vid as always!
Yup, now if we only had more Rabbit on RUclips..
Thanks Rob, looking forward to see you soon!
Holy heck I vibe with this guy so hard. Bring him on more often please!
He has own channel
bruh looked like mcloving from superbad when he was in hs
Great story’s man and good memories. My first car was an 85 GTI. God I loved that thing. It was straight as an arrow. When I saw that 87 golf it brought back so many memories. Drive safe guys.
I don’t have any memories like this but it gives me a warm feeling inside and I don’t know why.
"They drop some ballast" I laughed way too hard at that comment.
The title is already legendary
Another great story Casey!! Keep 'em coming!! Brings back memories of my high school, although I was not solo in my love for cars. My best friend joined me in the passion for automobiles; his were Porsches while mine were Ferraris. Regardless, we both knew all the specs for all the hot cars; hp, torque, options, tire specs, etc. Spent more time burying my nose in Road & Track than textbooks lol!!
73kenright will do and thanks for the comment!
This time I was this early Doug Demuro didn't ruin CarMax warranties for us all.
I loved high school I had such a good time. Plenty of friends plenty of memories
Mr Papagiorgio rub it in to everybody why don’t cha! :)
Going to high school nearby, being a car nerd, I now realize I crossed paths with Casey more than I realized. Yeah, moving out of North West Ohio to pursue car dreams was a great decision for me as well.
Casey Putsch and his stories have really grown on me. I really enjoy all the videos he has been on lately. =)
Casey and Ed just seem to have a gift for telling their stories.
“that Putsch boy ain’t right” made me laugh far more than it should have
This is like stand up comedy for car guys
"That Putsch boy ain't right" XD
Here I am stranded at a VW dealership. Now I've got something to watch this fine morning. Thank you VINwiki
5:47 i love this pic, with both your car and your dad's. It smells of good times
I love this so much. I’m in high school and this is EXACTLY like my town.
I grew up in small town Ohio too. Tough place to be into Formula One.
Casey is so lovely! He gives all of us young enthusiasts hope that one day the dream will happen
:) Really honored to hear this.
I see this title and become happy. I was looked down for my love of cars all my life, when I started making them faster and fixing them, all the kids that would put me down for it asked for help. Go figure lol
Great video! That Rc10 had the best construction ever. I upgraded mine to aluminum wheels, belt drive, Trinity Black Magic motor and a custom 10 cell battery. Sucked because everything would un-solder itself and I would go through speed controllers so fast it would bring my parents to tears lol. I also had Scirocco 16v + 8v same with GTI. I've held onto my 92 2.0 16v to this day. It's in storage. :) Thanks for sharing, you've brought back memories.
Love how he played it off “ I held it all the way” lmao
This man is my legend... absolute favorite on this show!
ive seen a lot of your videos but these stories were the best. hit home. thanks casey
That Putsch boy sure turned out alright, man this guy is my new hero
Casey literally scared the $hit out of the geese. :)
This guy is my second favorite Vin wiki storyteller
Associated RC10 , good times with aluminum chassis rc car.
These stories just get better and better.
This guy was such a curious kid lol
Lets see more stories from this guy!!!
I could listen to him talk about every time hes ever got a flat tire and he would still make it entertaining!
That story was great. I totally was the car nerd back in high school minus all the fun toys (grew up pore in the projects). Only difference was when i wasnt talking about cars, i was lifting weights. The few muscles i had made suckas think twice about stepping to me.
ALL OF THE VINwiki guys are great! Keep it up!
First car 82 rabbit still have it parked next to the 917 yes I still love my German cars. Thank you for making me have some amazing memories.
Casey is by far the Funnest story teller ever hahahaah
This guy is great and full of energy.
Came asap. I love vinwiki
Casey is definitely one of my favorite storytellers. Awesome job as usual! 👌🤘
Who is this superhero, holy crap what awesome stories. Let alone how he presents it. 👍🏼
I love this guy, I feel like I grow up with him. His home town sound a lot like mine? The love for euro sports car's in a town were you had two chooses Ford or Chevy.
"I did hold it" riiiiiight >_<
If you pitched your stories as a coming of age movie I would watch the hell out of it and I'm not even from US, seriously.
Very nice story those were the days were you could just enjoy life

VW Golf was one of the first easy cars to custom tune. You should have subscribed to a Euro car magazine. We bolted a gas head to a diesel block with a aluminum diesel head gasket. With a tiny Garrett turbo we were lucky if we beat a 135hp out of it. No dino in the 80's. Fun has hell to drive on a back twisty road.
"OH CRAP" ...Literally.
1:52 I worked at a family entertainment center (batting cages, mini-golf, go-karts, arcade and laser tag) when I was a young’n and one night t’other managers and I decided to try out _”go-kart laser tag”._ The guns had IR sensors under the barrel to force two-handed operation (for safety) but that was easily defeated with a piece of white paper and tape. What we *_quickly_* found out was that it’s *_exceedingly_* hard to drive *and* shoot *_at the same time,_* leading to some spectacular crashes as some decided to focus more on their aim than the track... definitely a lot of fun tho !!!
Awesome!!
We did paintball tag in our cars with CB's back in the late 80's...until we discovered paintball residue screws up the paint finish.
GoofyLeo3 - d’oh !! I’m surprised... I thought it was just like a soap based dye... or was it the impact and the shell material?
@@grendelum that's what we THOUGHT!! Hosed it off that night but the next day you could CLEARLY see every impact. :( Well, it WAS a blast when we did it. :)

Holy crap. That one pic of him young in high school. He looks just like McLovin aka Folgel
Once again, I’m so happy we didn’t have cell phones and social media when I went to high school.
Dang casey. We had similar upbringings. My first ride was a Sachs moped made in WEST Germany. Great to hear your story man

I’m right there with this guy. I was the weirdo who knew what car everyone drove at school and I could point out a dent or scratch from a mile away.
Wow! That brings back memories from high school! And not many were good...
