A plane flew into my car and I survived

- Emile (IG: @ebouret) nearly lost his job and his life over this one. He was doing some stunt driving for On Cars with a stunt plane overhead and things got very hairy.

Audi can say their cars are airplane proof now. That’s a selling point if I’ve ever heard one 😂
Maybe Audi shouldn't make a big deal of how one of their cars survived an american air attack :-)
@@stevewallace853 porsche made a american air attack. Porsche 911
Saab would find a way to counter that.

Good morning early viewers. We survived the boring Super Bowl here in Atlanta but here is a very exciting story from Emile. Glad he lived to tell it.
Hey Ed,
Vanakkam from India.
The Super Bowl is always boring for me. There’s no wheels in that sport.... soooo meh.
Thanks Mr. Bolian!
By the way, how about a video tour of your garage?
VINwiki at least the Pats won!
Actually I enjoyed the Super Bowl, but I'm a former Defensive lineman, and love defence
An amazing story Emile. Thanks so much for sharing it. Glad you were ok and glad you got to keep such an epic job.
Love your story's Ed keep up the amazing work
Amazing story, I absolutely cannot believe nobody will release the full version of that scene though =/ they absolutely should
AHHHH... I would have rather have watched this 50 times than watch that game last night! And... Good morning to VinWiki on this fine warm Monday!
Was there a game lol i was working on the car n missed it oo well lmfao
I didn't watch it so I good

Wtf is wrong with u
Lmao
Underrated comment😂😂
I'm a pilot and as soon as I heard it was Mike that did the flying you had my attention...i already knew of his passing
This story of his ability and professionalism truly reflects what he was...thanks
WE NEED TO SEE THE FOOTAGE
YESSSSSSSSSS
Definitely
Agreed!
Not as cool as you'd think, boys... as I mentioned above somewhere. The plane is barely in the frame for a millisecond.@@richardmaggs3430
They don't own the footage.
"I'm dead...this is what it's like to be dead."
if you've ever had 1 of those moments.. he put down the details well, great story
@@phillybarz I HAVE had one of those moments, and I don't recommend it. At all. Dying really stresses out the family.
phillybarz honestly. Those first 5-10 seconds after is the most confusing “what in the fuck” you’ll ever experience.
In my near death experience it was just falling asleep in a pool it was a Miracle how some one found me and it was because an old man asked about the kid in the pool with blue shorts I have found out latter in life by having the Lifeguard as a art teacher.
phillybarz yah man he really did I’ve been there a few times for different reasons but yah you get the sense knocked out of you.
Best story of 2019 so far for sure
Good enough to listen to at regular speed even!
Awesome! Thanks.
Holy shit! I thought I’d never see this again. That person who died in the plane crash with Mike at Apple Valley was Geza Decsy. And he didn’t die with mike just giving him a ride, Mike and Geza died while Geza was taking his first in flight test for getting his jet pilots license in Mikes plane. So sad to hear of this again. Geza was a Line Producer who’s company was on the Universal Studios lot in LA. Geza was the first mentor I ever had and one of the nicest individuals I’ve ever met. He had a passion for airplanes and spent every free minute not on set, in the sky. I still miss him and his wisdom to this day.
Damn that’s really sad. Was he involved with aerial cinematography?
The last time I was this early Casey was boiling his feet and avoiding wolves.
best comment today haha
Shame to hear the pilot was later killed in a crash.
It’s wasn’t long after this story to, it’s unfortunate!
@@papaannefranku9693 its crazy cause i live near apple valley airport.
Yeah....I didn't expect the story to end that way...
: (
well, he crashed with a freaking plane doing stupid and dangerous stuff, he got another chance yet he wasted it away on the same thing
@@user-wq9mw2xz3j the plane crashed just after lifting off due to the engine failing.. thats not something that goes in the "pilot error" category.
This dude knows how to tell a good story. Hope to see more of him. I'm sure he has some good ones. Thanks Ed for gettin him on here.
Much appreciated, Joseph! There should be a couple more coming, but none as cool as this one from me, I'm afraid.
@@ebouret5517 dude I'm glad ur ok. It could have been so much worse. But great story telling. Sry about the pilot. That is sad. I do believe I've seen him race the red Bull races.
man this is definitely a much better near death experience story compared to that Aventador accident, sorry Ed!
No argument there.
@@EdBolian the Aventador is the car AND the plane
Quite the story! LOL Glad he's ok.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is how you tell a story.
THIS: ruclips.net/video/hpwLlsBKzlc/видео.html is how you tell a story
this video was really good too
Great story Emile, and a fantastic job telling it. Totally agree with you regarding Mike. His accomplishments are one thing, and readily documented, but his real story is his warmth, personality and heart. RIP Mike. Forever a fan.
Mike Mangold was an amazing pilot. I bet if he was still with us he would have wanted to be a part of this video.
Tyler rip Mike... that was a terrible accident.
I don't know. It could have been something the FAA could have used against him.
@@jackielinde7568 if it was a closed set and he was acting as a stunt pilot I'm not sure the FAA could say much.
Andrew Elias
Closed set or not, the operation would still need to have a waiver to 14 CFR 91.119 (Minimum safe altitudes).
Since Apple Valley is a public airport, they most likely had the waiver and used it to NOTAM the airport closed.
Great content. The only story channel on RUclips which I love and really excited to see new a upload from, Greetings from Saudi Arabia...
"Can you get a *little* closer?"
"Yeah, once."
😂
Best story so far!
I’ve waited all weekend for this... certainly not disappointed
Man I had no idea that Mike had died. I remember watching him back in the day on RB air race, it was such a cool and different series. Maybe the flying didn't really translate well but I remember they would go to him a lot for interviews and always big him up but he was just mad humble about everything. The sort of guy where the chaps beating him would still say he's he best. Tragic loss.
Wow, Red Bull pilots are no joke. Great story!
I used to fly planes but not professionally. I had several friends that competed for years and won many titles, but 2 of them eventually died in planes, one in Dubai and the second one in Scandinavia. People make mistakes despite the fact that they are pros. Great story and I'm glad that you were ok.
A true "OH SHIT" moment. Very cool story.
Congrats on the partnership with dollar shave club! No wonder Ed looks so classy 247 haha. This is a crazy story, definitely one for the books... You guys should make a hall of fame for VinWiki stories at 1 million subscribers and ad a few of these badass stories into it.

Best video yet Emile! My favorite!
Thanks, my friend! It was cool to hang with Ed for a few hours. We'll have to do the same in Seattle later in the year when I'm there with the M Track Days program. Will keep you posted on dates.
My heart just dropped when he dropped the "he passed away" bomb. That's so upsetting...
What a story! RIP to MM. You know what they say; "There are old pilots and there are bold pilots......"
Great way to start my week. Thanks VINWIKI !

Rest in peace Mike. The aviation community misses you.
By the way, Mike passed away flying an L-39 Albatross, not the Delphin (Viper).
This guy is great at telling stories. Every minute was exciting and told perfectly!
Pictures add validation to the story... epic story & sad lost to a great pilot...
Reminds me of H.B. Halicki's movie "The Junkman" where his Cadillac Eldorado stunt car accidentally got clipped by a Pitts Special biplane doing an extremely low overhead pass during filming. The making-of documentary can be found on RUclips and on the Junkman DVD.
Well that was a roller coaster of emotions. Great story. Sorry to hear about Mike and has passenger.

Planes and cars.. doesn't get much better than this
Emile needs a reality show. A show where he teaches assholes to drive or something. Doesn't matter. He'd really just tell stories. It'd be a MASSIVE hit. I'd be the FIRST to audition.

It (the car) said, "I have no idea what's going on, I'm dropping everything", LMAO!

It doesn’t get more badass than a wild weasel pilot. Balls of steel and gotta be a little crazy too. Lol. 👍

I look forward to buying Emile a beer some day. Go Pats.
Where do I have to go to get this free beer you speak of???
Cleveland....a race track near Cleveland.....or Atlanta when I happen to also be there. 😁
Great stories, great storyteller. Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Hell of a story
Top Gear/Grand Tour would have shown the footage, used it to prove how safe the car was or something.
But I guess your insurance didn't need that hit.
That's amazing to me that the Audi A4 which is like their lowest end, still deployed all the airbags while parked when it was hit at the top of the C pillar. Glad you were safe, great story! I wonder if it would have still deployed them had you not had it running.
*”fuck I died”* 😂😂
so far in to these videos, and stories this cool still coming out!? Bravo
I hope this video doesn't get deleted! I'm just glad that the deletion requests didn't scare him away!
I did get in a bit of trouble for a few of the earlier videos, but Ed was so quick to pull them down that all ended ok... at least so far!
That is good to hear! They were pretty awesome stories.
That's not a title I expected to see😂😂
Close calls dont get any better than that..

What a coincidence my name is Emil too without the e at the end lol
That edge 540 is built like you cannot believe that airframe is designed and manufactured to take some of the most extreme stress you can put on a machine
ummm....WOW!!!!!!!!!! amazing story!
Legend says that explosion was the Big Bang.
Ed is probably the best storyteller there is but, I gotta say, given the choice I think I'd like to buy Emile drinks and listen to his.
Rip to the pilot
Coolest story ever
Audi was mad? Dude thats the best marketting stunt they could ever pull!
"Our car can survive a plane crash. Can yours?"
Great story! I had a very similar experience - ofc not on that epic level - when a 4-ton truck/semi ran a red light in front of me and my BMW 3-series coupe. At first I simply couldn't understand the inferno I suddenly found my self in. The noise, my ears ringing and the smoke in the cabin. My first though was: "I wasn't going THAT fast" and "god, the car is on fire". It was ofc all the airbags going off. It got me a permanent hearing damage, and I have seriously considered disabling the airbags in my later cars.
As soon as I read the title I thought it was him or Casey
Rip mike
I know that feeling. I remember when I got hit by a rollercoaster, taking time to piece everything together, and people asking me what happened. The feeling of being asked while you're doing the math is horrible
